“Smell of Sewage”
Reviewed July 3, 2014

When we finally made it to the hotel from the airport, it was almost 11pm and we were very tired. It was very disappointing to find a room overheated (top floor, corner room) smelling sewage. First of all they could not change our room for another one without the smell. For about an hour, we tried to figure out why the AC was not working, on top of that. The front desk was not helping. We went back and forth and after pressuring them, one of them agreed to come and look at it. Then they called the owner and finally he figured that out. The sewage smell persisted somehow changing with the wind. The location of the hotel is nice but that's all about it. The breakfast was mediocre, there was a huge smelly ashtray at the lobby full of cigarette buds. There were mosquitoes but there were not screens on the windows or doors. They gave us a tablet to put it in. The elevators were not working during the day for some reason. Our room didn't have balcony but most of the rooms did. So get one with a balcony if that's a possibility.

Room Tip: Don't get a room on the 4th floor, it gets over heated and it takes more time for AC to do its j...

Stayed for second time and would stay again - clean functional rooms. They seemed to struggle as things were busier this time - breakfast was regularly running out of core options within the buffet with no replacement being made and seating was unavailable on occasions, agreed on a later checkout however on the day was phoned and asked to leave and the cleaner also knocked asking us to leave (would not have minded if they had not already agreed to the late checkout) - still compared to other hotels in this central area I would recommend and, if returning to Rhodes, would stay again. Would give 4 stars if they would get the breakfast sorted

We had a superior room for three, room number 311.
Positive things first:
Room was spacious, extra bed was a real one (unless all beds were quite hard) and air-conditioning was quiet and effective.
Then the negative ones:
Breakfast was awful (no fresh fruits or veggies, bread was tasteless and bacon cold despite we're having breakfast already at 8.30 a.m. and breakfast was served from 7.30 a.m.
The room wasn't equipped with coffee/tea maker despite the promises (Hotels.com). Balcons (we had two of them) were really small and there was no equipments to dry towells etc.
Condition of the room was no good. It wasn't tidy, especially bathroom/toilet was dirty and nasty. Fridge was leaking water, only two of the lights were working and tv+it's channels were bad.
Free wi-fi worked very slowly and randomly (again one promise was broken).
Only reason for two stars was the location. It's perfect! And the guy in reception was very friendly.

Between 01-02 May 2014 dates during our accomodation in Atlantis City Hotel- Rodos (Greece); When we entered to the room my wife wanted to open the Bathroom door, the door made by totally glass have broken and it caused to injure my wife. When the responsible person came help to us he asked that is that our faulr or not ? and we replied to him that wan’t our mistake, logically it impossible to make a mistake in any case, after a day (without my information and approve) they took 300 Euros from my Credit card. I trusted to booking.com which has corporate identify and after we got service from them unfotunatelly my wife injured and the hotel cheated us and still there is no answer from booking.com authorities.

The location is great, walking distance from almost everything. The rooms are simple with a private balcony, good hanging space in the closet, but only two small drawers. It was very clean and the staff helpful. I'm not very big on English breakfasts of eggs, sausage and bacon and would have preferred a selection of fruit, but that's what they had. For one to three days it was fine, but if I come back to Rhodes for a longer period of time, I would prefer something else.

Overall it is a good location to stay if you want to be close to the Old town city. For more then a couple days stay I would have prefer another area of the Island. The staff was somewhat nice. The breakfast was average.
On our next vacation we will probably pick another place to stay.

For the low price, it is a great value. The hotel is nice and clean, staff are helpful and friendly. They will let you check in early if the room is ready. The room also has a private balcony and a safe in the closet. We stayed there three nights and it was great. The breakfast is just very average though, and the sound proofing of the room is not so good. I will stay at this hotel when I visit Rhodes again!
