“Hidden gem - fresh food in a wonderful atmosphere”
Reviewed March 23, 2009

We found this hidden gem in a quiet corner while wandering in Rhodes. We passed by the indoor area where there where white linen tablecloths and decided to eat in the more laid-back outdoor dining area. I'm an animal-lover so it didn't bother me one bit, but there were cats that wandered by to beg for a taste of the good food. The meal itself was wonderful. The staff was great as it was close to closing time, but they didn't rush us at all. It could be a romantic area. While we were dining, one couple that ate at Romios on their first date came back to take pictures. The staff was very acomodating to them. It could also be a place to do business as we did see business men there as well. All in all, a great restaurant.

“Open all the year round for locals as well as tourists.”
Reviewed September 26, 2008

Romios is in the heart of the teeming tourist-thronged centre of Rhodes old town but it is a cut above most of the other eating places jostling for your attention. Spacious shaded outside area, comfortable, clean restaurant, tables with white cloths, wide selection of traditional Greek dishes cooked with care and quality ingredients.
We met a couple from Amsterdam who had eaten there for 11 days of their two week holiday and were still loving it.
This restaurant, unlike many in Rhodes, is open all year and depends on the residents of the town when the trippers have gone, so it works hard to keep its dishes authentic and tasty.
On one of our two visits it was hosting a Greek birthday party for a huge, jolly family without neglecting its other customers. On the other visit we had a Chef's special of the day which was the best meal of our holiday (don't ask its name....it came in a big pot with potatoes....)
It is medium priced - we paid about 20 euros per head per meal including wine and felt it was good value for a good night out.
