Great environment, beautifull atmosphere and really good dishes with a vast variety. It could be a little less expensive and it would be the perfect place to eat...

So much better than the same old standard served in almost every other Greek restaurant in tourist areas, this a real restaurant making a real effort to serve distinctive food with care and attention - it just so happens to be in Rhodes Old Town. The complimentary bread basket is large, with a variety of bread and three good dips including red pepper tappinard. I had a 15 euro main of lamb cooked in rice, which was a regional speciality. There were several other regional special dishes I have not seen elsewhere. It was well presented and sumptuously spiced, not to mention very large. My wife had the moussaka and the difference to the general version was clear. Overall excellent standard of food, 37 euro including 3 large Mythos and a starter . If I'm being picky the service could have been a little sharper, though not friendlier, and the beer a little more bubbly fresh. However the food and outdoor seating area more than masked these small quibbles. I wish we could find another restaurant like this in Lindos where we are staying, or indeed in London!

In a lovely quiet spot away form the brashly commercial main streets. The outdoor part under a big tree is very ornately furnished, such that it stands out, even amongst the many places to eat in Rhodes town. The food and service don't disappoint.
The mixed bread starter (4 euros) is enough for two, comes with a selection of sauces, a few olives and a few dried tomatoes.
The only negative was the tables were a bit close to each other.

Rhodes Old Town is full of run-of-the-mill tavernas and restaurants, but "Romios" is clearly a cut above the others. The attentive, charming service is warm and welcoming, and the woman who runs the kitchen is a perfectionist when it comes to refined, but traditional, Greek cuisine. The outdoor terrace is green, quiet and lush, providing a perfect setting for a memorable meal. And I saw that the indoor dining room was cozy, decorated tastefully, and would be a perfect place to enjoy a long luxurious meal on a cool, cloudy, or rainy day. The wine list is extensive, offering the very best of the numerous quality Greek wines. This place is just a little off the beaten tourist track, so DO IT! Walk the extra 100 meters from the crowded place, and congratulate yourself on finding a superior taverna!
