“START OF A WONDERFUL HONEYMOON!”
Reviewed December 13, 2010

My husband and I started our honeymoon in Rhodes at this hotel and Mara and Francesco couldnt have been more inviting. We arrived after 11 pm and Mara was outside waiting for the cab and helped take our luggage to our room. Waiting there, was a surprise bottle of champagne, candles and cookies- a great way to unwind after a very long traveling day! The location was perfect- right in Old Town and steps away from fantastic restaurants, shopping, a beach and great sights. She helped us with directions and gave us suggestions for meals and for hiring a car for our trip to Lindos. The price also was great!!! The room was small, but the little balcony was cute and overlooked the terrace. The bathroom was also very tiny, but very clean. The room was cleaned daily and a flower was always left on our pillow. On the terrace, there are chairs to relax in and a great breakfast area which we missed most days because we slept in, but the one day we ate it was very filling. We would DEFINITELY go back there! The only thing we didn't realize was that when they advertise for their happy hour, they do charge for the drinks you get and there isn't a price list around. BUT the prices were also really cheap so we didn't mind.

This small independent hotel is very friendly, and this generosity makes for a wonderful place to stay.

The two owners, Mara and Francesco are the people responsible for the generosity and bonhomie of this delightful hotel in the old part of Rhodes. Mara is the perfect hostess, caring about every single guest in a way I thought had long since gone from the world of tourism, with real warmth, intelligence and knowledge, in at least 4 languages.

The old medieval building has been simply renovated with charm, (the hotel has a slightly laid-back, undergraduate feel about it, with names of different writers as room names, with quotes of their words tastefully painted inside the room, the bathroom squiggy but things all work) but it is the generosity of Mara and Francesco which is absolutely contagious, and everyone responds accordingly.

This October, we have spent one week at this lovely litte place a little bit hidden in the old town of Rhodes. It is being run by the italian couple Mara and Francesco (and not to forget a bunch of cats) so that it even is possible to communicate in Italian as well as French or English, of course.
They have ca. 10 rooms. Ours was rather on the small side, to be precise, at least one of the smallest I have ever been to, but after asking for a reduced price at the end of the season, one must not complain about this.
On the other hand, it even had air con (not necessary at that time), a little fridge (actually a mini bar), a small private balcony, and en-suite bathroom.
One of the great advantages was the lovely terrace shaded by a couple of trees some of which carried lime or similar fruits where a rich and healthy breakfast was served (muesli, fruits, greek yoghurt, bread and butter, jam, orange juice, sometimes cakes or grilled sandwiches, coffee, tea or milk).
The other advantage is that you are a litte bit away from the hustle and bustle of the main tourist streets in old town. And above all, Mara and Francesco are always prepared to help you with everything you might need or want to see or organize bookings for you, e.g. for going on one of the other islands. Of course, they have excellent tips for restaurants and if you are up to a little drink before dinner, they serve it on their terrace as well.
The only small disadvantage we found was the -again excellent- restaurant just opposite which also features live music on some evenings every week which made it a bit difficult getting to sleep sometimes, because it sounded more or less directly into our room.
So all in all a very recommendable place.

We just spend 2 very relaxing nights at the wonderful Attiki hotel. Nothing is too much trouble for the owners from check-in to check-out. Individually decorated rooms, the one we stayed in (Maupassant) on the 1st floor has a balcony overlooking the shady and peaceful courtyard where breakfast is served every morning. Breakfast consisted of Coffee/tea, orange juice, fresh fruit, bread with jam and marmalade, muesli, Greek yoghurt and freshly baked muffins. The hotel is situated 1 minute from Socratuos in one direction and the street of the nights (Ippoton) in the other. Free wi-fi is throughout the hotel, the connection was excellent in our room. Free bicycle hire is available on request, there is also a sauna. Keys are provided for the front gate which is locked in the afternoons and after 8pm. All in all, great location, atmospheric hotel, lovely hosts even after a very hot and busy summer! Thank you Mara and Francesco, we'll see you soon!

We recently stayed with another couple in Mara and Francesco's great little hotel in the Old Town of Rhodes for three nights in September. Mara and Francesco seemed to go out of their way to make our stay a most enjoyable one and we were not in any way special as they seemed to treat all their guests the same. From picking us up from the ferry terminal, to recommending eating places (gotta try Mpoukia Mpoukia), to advising us on the places to see, nothing was too much trouble.

The rooms, although not big by Western standards (but hey, it is after all a medieval building), are very clean and tastefully decorated and within easy walking distance of anywhere in the Old Town. Our main criteria for selecting accommodation during our 5 weeks of travel around Greece and Turkey was somewhere clean and quiet to sleep at night recommended by Tripadvisor users and in this Attiki far surpassed any of the other 12 hotels we stayed at.

Our stay at Hotel Attiki did make for a memorable part of our holiday.
