Just returned from a week at the Calypso Beach hotel. The hotel is lovely and so are the grounds. The sea views are stunning and the beach is at the end of the hotel. The sun beds are all padded both at the hotel and on the beach. There is no cost for the beach beds as the hotel owns the beach area infront of the hotel.

The rooms are quite modern but are a little small for a family. A safety deposit box is free in all rooms. The room service was excellent. The beds are very hard so sleep on the sofa bed if you can.

The pool areas are lovely, great slide for the kids/adults. The pool bar was constantly full of Germans who always got served before the Brits.I did find the staff at the pool bar quite rude overall. The staff in the snack bar were lovely and in the resturant, nothing was too much trouble for them. The food was ok but a little sameish.

The evening entertainment was quite poor but the football was on while we were ther so we didnt mind so much. You can get branded drinks so ask for them. There are lots of different areas to relax around the hotel which was nice. The peddalows are FREE on the beach as long as you are staying at this hotel.

Overall we had a lovely holiday, met lots of really nice people and would definatly return.

Room Tip: rooms without the sea view get he sun later in the evening which was great as we got all our pool cl...

I've stayed here one week with my family. Lot's of entertainment for the children. Excellent service from the staff. Buffets are better than the average holiday hotel.

The holiday didn't start very well as do to a plane exchange we were a good hour and a half late leaving after the flight we were one of the last to be dropped off something that I didn't expect as we had booked with Thomas cook from there style brochure and having paid for service would have expected to be early drop ala Thomson.
At first impressions the hotel is impressive nice frontage and reception we were told to go to the late snack bar as we had missed the restaurant sitting all we were offered was a toasted cheese sandwich by a less than enthusiastic member of staff .
Having eaten we made our way to our room 6th floor however 3 lifts operate and it's not a chore the room was very clean and tidy with modern decor settling down for the night the beds were not uncomfortable at first but after a couple of nights you begin to notice the over firmness in the mattress the maid service is excellent always polite and rooms left clean.
The general grounds are well kept with a nice pool and gardens there is an outside bar this is where things rapidly go down hill apart from one very nice lady serving behind the bar the staff come across as they don't really want to be bothered to serve you unless you have a German accent made clear by the fact that all rules of politeness go out of the window when waiting for a drink you may be next in line but should someone from another country come up to the bar you suddenly become invisible and they get served first something that also happens in the hotel cocktail bar and snack bar however the restuarant staff seemed polite and courteous the food was typical mixed guest fare, food was always hot and of reasonable quality the manager always greeting people with a smile .
My other gripe was that if the sun got too much and you wanted to chill out in the room there was nothing but European channels on tv out of 21 channels 2 were in English CNN and BBC world news not very entertaining in today's modern age it should be possible to provide at least one English speaking entertainment channel there was a large screen tv in the bar area when one of the English guests asked if they were showing showdown Sunday the last day of the league on tv they were told that it would only be on if there was enough interest hence as most of the guests were German the only way to watch it was to go into falaraki and find a bar but on the Saturday night the German cup final was shown I rest my case .
Would I go back to the hotel no I wouldn't as the hotel was good in parts but not in others would I go back to Rhodes maybe but not in the area where we stayed a shame as with a little change in staff attitudes would gain the hotel a better rating than it has

Have just returned from the Calypso beach and couldn't really fault our week there. The food either in the main resturant or the snack bar was really first class, and so much choice, should be able to cater for all tastes. All the bars serve branded drinks though you do have to ask at first till they get to know you.
Another big plus is there a no wristband policy so you dont have to show your wrist if you want to get pi**ed just keep your room key|card if they ask these replace the bands.
Rooms are spot less and are well cleaned and spacious we were at the front of the hotel(room 134) and the balcony is a very hot sun trap in the afternoon.
There were plenty of sun beds either around the pool or on the beach, sea was lovely and clear and not to deep ideal for swimming in also another big plus is the free pedaloes run by the hotel.
Down side beds to hard and pool towels should be changed daily and not after 3 days.
Overall brilliant hotel and staff who are all so happy to make your stay a pleasent one.

Room Tip: Ask for a sea view

We have just returned from a holiday at the Calypso , we will never return ther again , the hotel staff receptionist are very rude , we had booked our stay with Thomas Cook and asked for a pool or sea view when we arrived we were on the 2nd floor and a road view, we asked the receptionist if this could be change and she said all the rooms were fully booked but if one came up they would inform us well one never did. The place is full of EasternEuropeans ie German, Polish and also a lot of Belgique and French I would say out of the 650 guests there were 50 English people. Food is very samey although quite nice not very hot only hot food which was what the chef cooked you. Thomas Cook are selling a trip to Lindos for 25Euros per person, when Milly the rep was asked how long would it take on the Local bus she said roughly 3hrs because of the stops it makes on its way down , actual cost on the local Bus was 4.50Euros each and took 45mins well worth the trip very steep to get down if any walking difficulties i would suggest a taxi down rougly 3 euros. I suppose you get good and bad reviews ,cant fault the cleanliness of the place bedding and towels changed every day. All ways wanted a holiday to Rhodes well we have done it but wont return..

Just returned from a week at the Calypso Beach Hotel and must say that the reviews that we read prior to going were not wrong. The Hotel is fantastic, the staff are great. There is a good variety of food from both the snack bar and main resturant.
My only negative point is the "A La Carte Resturant" which we found to be lacking something? The food was cold and I also felt that they were rushing about.
All in all we had a great time and cannot wait to go back to this wonderful hotel

This hotel with the all-inn service is good for a week. It is set at the beach in a small garden with nice palm trees and other exotic plants. One one side there was a new hotel being build (almost finished, no construction work being done during my stay). The other side was empty so the hotel is pretty isolated. Bus brings you to Rhodos city in 20 minutes for about 2€ and in a few minutes to Faliraki. I rented a car for 3 days but found no real special places except Lindos and Rhodos old town. The service at the hotel was very good, the rooms start to get worn out. The bed is really very hard! The rooms are specious and have a great sea view. Got some noise from drinking Brits late (2am) and some mosquitoes.
The food was ok bit nothing to be over exited about. I went the second part of the holiday to Rhodos old town to have some great diners! Pool is not too big and only a small part was deep.
