This is a lovely small and friendly hotel - the owners and everybody associated were so friendly and helpful. I went with my 2 sons (16 and 14) - the room was great (3 single beds, rather than a double and single as you often find) - good size, good air conditioning, bathroom etc.
It is right on the beach, with a great little bar/restaurant at the entrance.
Perissa was really good - black beach, which is more grit than sand, but still absolutely fine - clean and safe. Lovely warm water. Various watersports. Plenty of good restaurants.

Location is great, right by the beach and it offers free beach umbellas. There is also a bus stop nearby so you can access other sites on the island easily.
The rooms were "ok". They did not offer any bars of soap, shampoo, etc. like the other local hotels/b&bs. The water also smelled badly and it was a common complaint from many people but no one ever offered a good explanation. The rooms were not very clean e.g. the refrigerator was dirty.
The continental breakfast was very disappointing, few poorly baked croissants and room temperature scrambled eggs.
The wifi was very slow/inaccessible.

Thoroughly recommend this place to anyone looking for relaxation and sunshine.
I'd agree with others when saying the breakfast is poor, beds are a bit uncomfortable and the sun on your balcony is limited to mornings - but there is so much more to a holiday than these factors. Everyone at the hotel and bar are friendly and helpful without being over bearing (Yannis is the young man who delivers drinks and attracts customers in). The hotel is clean (rooms cleaned every day with fresh towels supplied daily).
The hotel location was perfect for us - right on the beach with plenty of options for food and drink within walking distance. This is a beach resort suited to those wanting to get away from things and have the occasional day trip to beautiful Oia or Fira. If you are 20 something and want late night partying from your holidays then I wouldnt advise this resort.

this hotel is very well cleaned everyday , its right on the beach , you get free sunbeds free aircom and free safety deposit boxes so you save quite abit on these, pool lovely its few minutes walk from all restaurants , you do get abit hassled on beach from sellers selling clothes jewellery and massages, but they not forceful . I booked with travel republic and paid £228 for a weeks stay for 3 people and was going to book for same time next year and for some reason its shot right up to £1,116 for 3 people just for hotel??????it is defo not worth that its worth the 228

Here it comes. Mr Payne's Perissa Bay rewiew.
Hotel is a typical cyclades style hotel runned by a family of Madam Lucie.
Hotel is located in Limnes right on the beach which goes from Perissa to Perivolos. Prepare to have a nice aprox. 400m (one way) walk every time you wanna go somewhere to eat or even more for shopping.

Hotel is quite new and when we arrived we stil could smell the drying paint in our room.
Hotelarea got no Wi-Fi, only internet available is in reception and quite pricy one so if you're hooked on net, forget it.
Hotel is having a beach-bar called Ostrako where one "wannabefunnyguy" is leading the show. Mr Payne can only recommend for gigling teenie-girls.

One of the basic things every hotel should offer their guests is a good and variable breakfast.
It's only a shame that the owners of Perissa Bay doesn't obviously think so. The list of missing food is long: No bacon, no scrambled eggs, no muesli, no Sweet'n Lo, half of my one week stay there was no tea, only coffee and tisane available. Juices they offer are oversweet sugar liquids. There is only one cheese and one "wannabeham" -sort to put on your bread which are strictly being consumed under the eye of supervising hotel-owner. The thing is: usually there is about 6 pieces of cheese in the cheese-bowl, when the amount of cheese is dropped to 1 or 0, then the supervisor brings another 6 to the table. Same with the ham.

Room was spacy, with tv-set, air-con(without instructions) and two separate single beds the bedside table between them (makes it difficult if you still love your spouse...). Bathroom was equipped with a moldy showercurtain and the toilet-seat didn't fit with the toilet together. The bathroom door was also freshly insulated and every time you opened or closed it - big noise!

Room was being cleaned by a foreign cleaner-boy, who could have done his work better. First he woke us up every morning about 7:45 am when he came to clean our terrace, and secondly he didn't have any schedule. So you could not tell when he was about to come and then stay nicely away that he could do his job.

Mr. Payne's Mattress Check:
Ok, i knew it. Some of the other rewievers told about the mattresses. And yes they are hard! Makes me wanna ask: how did they put all those stones inside the mattresses?
Do you sleep on your side? Pick another hotel or bring your own mattress with you.
Do you sleep on your back? Make sure you weight at least 80 kilos, only then you have enough weight to bend the spring-coils, and so your back forms a natural S-form, otherwise your spine will be flat and welcomes the backpain.
Needles to say the mattresses got no mattress-pads, which would make them softer, but they are equipped with a thin mattress cover underneath the sheets.
Beds are having a very basic slatted base, see picture.

So as a verdict i say, Perissa bay is a modest but cozy and quiet hotel which got the biggest problem in their poor breakfast table and in the hard beds.

Room Tip: Please don't take a room from the Cellar.

We were very pleased with our room and service. The cafe/ bar attached to this hotel was so accomadating and treated us like family. This hotel is right on beach but there is a road between hotel and beach we liked it because it gave us a chance to see more tourist and meet some locals. Felt sooooo safe even walking alone at night. Don't worry about this place there was no down falls at all.

The beds are firm, pillows very hard. Rough towels. Lucia was very helpful. Rooms are clean. Beach is beautiful. Average breakfast. The hot water cuts out during your bath. Hotel is a good value for right on the beach. However, Perissa is remote from most of the things you want to see. The WiFi did not work.

Room Tip: I would ask for one of the top rooms with patio.
