“Ideal to chill out”
Reviewed August 11, 2013

Stayed as a family of 4 adults with 2 rooms. Rooms are cleaned daily and are comfortable. hotel supplies towels for poolside or beach so do not take your own. Pool was good and not too much hassle for sun loungers although sometimes the usual problems in that people reserve them with a towel first thing in morning but do not return to hotel until mid afternoon to use them! Pool bar open from noon. When dining out there is a good chose of eating spots on the beach and the main street. Prices on main street are less, beer was about 4 euro a pint on beach and 2 euro on main street, food about 1 to 2 euro a dish cheaper on main street. Best place to eat we found was Cyclades on main street, go out of hotel turn left, onto main street turn right at dorians and walk about 10 mins,Cyclades is on right, food very good as was service and good size portions finished off with a free brandy, rekki or pudding. Then we walked back to Dorians for cocktails and brandy before finishing off, cocktails about 3 euro each. Ideal resort to chill out with no real hustle and tussle, maybe not for young families as not much for children apart from pool. Bakery and supermarket about 10 minute walk and good value. I bought some beer and stocked the fridge in the room, 1 euro a pint compared to 3 at pool bar, but you cannot drink your bought drinks by pool, on you baloncy or in your room is fine. Worth a trip to Fira, just catch local bus, simple to do and only 2.20 euro single trip. Great shops in Fira and views from restaurants are fantastic, food etc same price as Perissa. Done the boat trip to the volcanic island which was good, only down side was boat was a bit packed and some people did not get a seat, Thomas cook were surprised at this, maybe not helped by other tour groups which seemed to want to take the boat over! So if you want to chill out, have good food and relax then this is the place.

nice little hotel in an ideal situation just back from the beach. very clean, and helpful friendly staff.
Bed was a iittle hard, took our own kettle and cups. Great air con and fridge in the room. Hired a jeep and toured the island and can honestly say Perissa is the nicest area, and great value for money. We were impressed with the prices having been to Tenerife earlier in the year and found that very expensive. Breakfast on the sun terrace was a little hit and miss, bit of a wait for some food items, but filling and wholesome. Good size well kept pool which was very refreshing when you came back from a day out. turn left out of the hotel and up the road is Dorrian's bar, good price drinks. Favourite restaurant is the first one on the left as you hit the beach, had red and white tablecloths, excellent food and very reasonable prices. fantastic greek salads for lunch to last you till dinner time. all in all a great holiday, glad we did Santorini now at our age (55) as if we were a little older we may have struggled with mobility and we are fit and agile! May be a good idea to bring beach shoes of some kind as the beach is very stoney and very slippy getting into the sea. Not an ideal place for young children as the beaches are a little unaccesible and not somewhere you could take a pram or small children as there can be a lot of climbing! We can recommend Kouros Village Hotel and would stay here again if we ever return to Santorini.

Just arrived home after a week at Kouros Village hotel. I rated as excellent because overall it deserves. And of course we highly recommend it.
Let's start with the very few critical observations in order to help hotel management. First, do not allow roomkeepers to move your personal items in the room. We found our things every evening in many different places we left them in the mornings. However the room was clean, towels changed daily. Another comment is regarding breakfast: sometimes we had to wait far too long for the completion of some elementary things like bread...
So despite these few things wich can be easily corrected, the hotel is great because:
- it is in a quiet area of Perissa only 50 meters to the beach,
- the rooms are located on different blocks of the hotel so practically you feel like at your own private appartement,
- there is a nice pool cleaned every morning,
- the breakfast is plenty, various,
- the mangement is very friendly, Vasili has great recommendations what to visit and where to eat, so listen him with confidence.
What else to say? If you need party, all-day-open bars, crowd - this is not the place for you. But if you are looking for peaceful evenings with a glass of wine on the terrace, with the lights of the pool, relaxation, silence and tranquility, then here you can find them all.

Room Tip: Ask - if you can - a room with pool-wiew from the terrace. You will have romantic evenings with a gl...

This place is very cozy and clean. The room was large and immaculate. We had a unit with a kitchenette in it. The hotel has a concierge, Bill, who was able to tell us where the local attractions were and how we could get there. He gave us the best restaurants, made arrangements for cabs, and an ATV. The hotel itself is a short walk from the main attraction of the area, the beach strip which has tons of bars and restaurants across the road from the beach. The hotel also has a pool and poolside bar. We were very happy with the accommodations and greatly recommend this hotel.

Overall, we were happy with our stay at Kouros Bay hotel, however I do agree with some of the other comments that people have made below about little niggles.

My boyfriend and I stayed at the hotel for one week in July. Our room was comfortable, the air conditioning was effective and it was cleaned regularly. However, we were expecting a double room and ended up with a twin (although I know this is fairly common in many countries) and as someone else has mentioned the shower did not have a holder on the wall so you had to hold it which was a little awkward. Again, I know this is fairly common as I have encountered it many times before but it is still a little annoying when you are paying for a hotel.

The breakfast was nice, with plenty of variety (greek yogurt, pastries, cooked items, ham and cheese, cake!, coffee and tea). However, the service was not always perfect (for example sometimes it took ages to get a cup of coffee, and there were times when there were no bowls or drinking glasses and people had to wait to get one washed up). The waiters were friendly and I guarantee that they did a far better job than I would be able to do in that heat! As long as you are not in a rush, you will get a good Greek breakfast.

The owner of the hotel was friendly and happy to help with anything, he gave us a map of the island and highlighted the main sights to see. For example, he arranged car hire for us. However, I would say beware of making too many arrangements in this way as the prices are a bit higher than you can get if you make the arrangements yourself (although hassle free!). The restaurants he recommended were ok, but certainly not the best we found in Perissa so I would recommend you do a bit of exploring of your own and don't just go straight to Tomatini and Noma, as you will find more choice elsewhere and if you are after lower prices then head towards the main street and away from the beach.

The pool area was lovely and on a few of the days we had it almost to ourselves as many of the guests went out for the day. There are not enough sunbeds for all of the guests to use them at once but it really isn't a problem as the beach is only a short walk away and there is no shortage of beach beds there (at least, not in early July). The pool bar is open in the afternoons. We did overhear a couple discussing the fact they had been sent to another hotel for a few days as their room was double booked, so perhaps we were fortunate that that didn't happen to us..

Overall we had a great holiday and I think that Kouros Bay was a pretty good family run hotel, and a nice alternative to the standard studio apartments that you often find.

When it came to checking out we were very pleased with the service; Our flight was not until the evening and there were shower rooms available for us to use.

Room Tip: If a double bed is important to you then I would advise you call in advance to find out if they have...

We had a reservation to stay at Kouros Village hotel. When we arrived at the property, one employee saw us at the entrance, and, instead of helping us carrying our suitcases, he waved at us asking us to wait. We thought he was going to bring help, but he didn't. So my husband carried the suitcases to the main lobby by himself, and the employee told us to wait for the manager. We could tell the the employee was uncomfortable for some reason. After around 10 minutes, the manager showed up telling us they were overbooked, but that he would upgrade us to a 5 star hotel, and took us to the 9 Muses. He didn't ask us what we would like to do, simply took us to the other hotel. It was very disappointing. I spent months planning this trip, made sure I got the best hotels for the best prices, doing researching on several websites. If I had had the option to research about the 9 muses, I would never have selected it. 9 muses is rated 5 stars, but it does not fit as a 5 star hotel, there are several 3 stars hotels that are way better than it. Kouros Village seemed very cozy and cute, it was a huge disappointment what they did to us, and I would not recommend this hotel based on the lack of consideration to the guests.

We were a family of 5 and really enjoyed our stay! I have read the other reviews and think some of the shall we say weaker reviews were a little severe in my opinion. We found the staff helpful and friendly and the Manager Vassili incredibly helpful and his recommendations on where to eat absolutely spot on. NTomatini and Noma were typical of the good recommendations for places to eat in Perissa.
