My fiance and I greatly enjoyed our stay at the Smaragdi Hotel. Maria and her team were so helpful and kind and were there to answer any questions we had. When we asked about sailing cruises around the caldera, Maria booked us a spot (for the next day!) with Spiridakos sailing cruises, which was by far our favorite part of the entire trip. Our room was very clean and we never had any issues with housekeeping whatsoever. The pool is absolutely gorgeous, with plenty of seating, and the bar area conveniently ran a tab for us for the duration of our stay so we didn't have to bother paying for our drinks as we ordered them. The hotel is about a 5 minute walk from the black sand beach and has relations with 2 of the beach front restaurants that allows you to use their sun beds at no cost. Also there is the most amazing and authentic Greek restaurant just north of the hotel (about a 5 minute walk in the opposite direction of the beach) where we had the best souvlaki platter, far better than many of the touristy restaurants along the beach (although we did enjoy many of those places as well).

We stayed here as a family for a week for a wedding on the island. Santorini is an expensive island, but compared to others I checked this gave good value for money. The staff are delightful and very friendly, and the rooms are large and spacious. Its is extremely clean- beds and towels changed very day, gardens cleaned constantly . A good location if you are visiting Perissa- tucked away a few yards from the sea but very close to restaurants and bars. Didn't eat the breakfast as it is the usual cornflakes, toast etc which isn't what I like. Overall a great place to stay if you are in Perissa.

Room tip: We paid for a junior suite but it wasn't really any different to a deluxe room, so would save money and book those rooms.

We stayed here in July 2018 and had a very pleasant stay. It is totally family friendly. The pool is lovely with lots of sun beds. The staff are very friendly and the hotel is only minutes walk from the restaurants of the resort. Well worth the money.

From day one, our experience has been amazing, we have never had the welcome that Maria and the team gave us the first night, beginning with free transfer from the airport. Then a very confortable room. They helped us with the rental of the motorbike as well. The atmosphere at the pool was very nice and quiet and the staff was always willing to help and make the stay really worth it. Perivolos and Perisaa have nice beaches not even 2min away from the hotel door. If we go back to Santorini, we will then repeat at Smaragdi. Thanks!

We stayed at the hotel from 7th - 14 July 2018. The hotel is in a great location, all restaurants and bars are within 10 mins walk. The hotel is situated on a quieter side of the island which was perfect for us. Hotel was very clean, our room was cleaned every day ( we stayed in a deluxe room) and fresh linen and towels changed daily too. The hotel provided a free pool towel which you could keep for your entire stay. However, the food is very limited as is more geared up towards a comfortable stay, this wasn't a problem as all other amenities were close by. We caught a local bus into Fira and onto Oia which was very entertaining and a good way to see the island too. For both bus journeys there and back we spent around less than 10 euros so is very cheap. We also arranged via the hotel a catamaran cruise - which wasn't cheap but well worth it, we had a lovely afternoon and evening and got to meet so really nice people, and ended the day watching the sunset which is magical, so I would highly recommend this trip. The only thing to watch out for is they serve food only once, so make sure you eat properly when they excursion people bring the food out, but the drinks were in their plentiful. Maria at the hotel provided a really good welcome meeting - giving us an insight to what is what - so recommend you attend that too. The hotel is linked up to a couple of restaurants, so if you want to visit the black sand beach which is literally two mins away, they provide the sunbeds and parasols for free, so make sure you use that facility. Our holiday was amazing, and we will definitely be back at some point, and I would recommend this hotel if you are looking for a total relaxed holiday. Tranquilo bar serves an amazing jug of sangria!! if you come out of the hotel and walk to the bottom of the road if you turn left or right the selection of bars and restaurants are all within walking distance. The hotel also provides you with a welcome bottle of wine and water and the aircon and safe are both free of charge. The hotel also sell bottles of water which you can keep in your room which we found really convenient. Overall, Maria and her staff were amazing.

Room tip: we stayed in a deluxe room which was very roomy.
