Hotel coordinated transportation to/from airport and fun activities. The staff were extremely friendly and professional. Breakfast buffet is good and ends promptly so don't be late. In general the bar food and drinks at the pool were a highlight. The property itself was well managed, but the rooms could use some TLC. The beds were hard as rocks. Altought the hotel is a short 5min walk to the beach and restaurants it is located on a road w/limited lighting which made us a bit weary while walking at night. However, Santorini is a rather safe place to vacation.

Smaragdi Hotel has everything you need with a family feel. Our room (#29) was really a suite on the ground floor with a great shower and a small table and seating area separated from the bedroom. Our room was casual but clean and included a porch with seating shared with the next room, but the lovely pool area was our main gathering spot. The staff was super-friendly and they are able to arrange excursion trips that pick up from the hotel. We rented a car at a reasonable price and I preferred exploring on our own, but we did take advantage of a boat trip that we set up through the hotel. We enjoyed breakfast at the hotel, but there are plenty of other options along the beach.

Smaragdi is 1/2 block from a 2-mile long black sand beach. With a few breaks, the entire beach is serviced by restaurants and bars with umbrellas and lounge chairs (or king-sized beds in a few locations). It is a delightful beach experience with service while you relax. Whether you prefer casual or fine dining you won't go hungry here and the full moon drew us to the sea every night we were there!

Perissa / Perivolos is a great spot to spend a few days. On the eastern side of the island (away from the caldera) it is much quieter than Oia or Fira. Yet the island is small enough that you can reach any part of it within an hour by car. Tip: Go to Greek Night, dance a smash some plates. Opah!

This hotel is a little gem. Tucked a 2 minute walk from the beach road Smaragdi is the perfect getaway. The pool is the perfect size and the staff are amazing. Only thing I can say bad about this hotel is that the rooms lack a mirror within the bedroom as the only mirror is in the bathroom and the beds are alittle hard for my liking but they are minor points in an otherwise fantastic hotel. Its that good that I am booking for next year.

Just back from a superb weeks stay at the Smaragdi Hotel in Santorini with friends staying in adjacent rooms. We all arrived as guests but felt we left as friends, all of the staff were so friendly and only too pleased to help us out with anything we wanted to get the best from our stay on the island, we would not hesitate to recommend this hotel. Our rooms were very comfortable and cleaned everyday. The grounds and pool area were well maintained and very relaxing. The island itself is absolutely stunning and staying at this hotel we felt we had the best of both worlds, it was close to the beach and a short bus ride away from the bustling towns of Fira and Oia. Can't wait to go back!

I booked this hotel at the last minute for my mother and two children(4 years and 2 months) to stay in. We had planned this trip a year before and had not originally planned to take our kids but as our plans changed we were lucky to get a room at their place. We were given a maisonette that slept five people so we all ended up staying. The hotel was clean and the staff couldn’t do enough for us. We arrived at 7 am and despite their opening hours being 8 am someone was there waiting to welcome us. They prepared our room as soon as it was vacated and we had keys by 10 am with no early check in feesThe pool area was lovely and my 4 year old loved spending his afternoons there. The location was exactly what I wanted and the beach, bars and restaurants were a 3 minute walk. If we’re ever in Santorini again we will definitely be visiting. Lovely hotel and even lovelier staff.
