Property includes bungalow-like rooms with a nice pool area, though it’s within easy walking distance, maybe a block (less than 100m) to the long black-sand beach at Perivolos. If you follow the road to the beach and turn right you’ll find many tavernas, restaurants, and few mini-marts along the beach road. Single room was small but reasonable sized for two. Furnishings were basic but in good condition and working order. This included a double bed, sink, refrigerator and complimentary large bottled water (more available for purchase from the bar), plates/glasses/coffee cup/hot-pot, dresser closet with in-room safe, wall-mounted TV, duct-less AC, and folding chair. Bathroom was small in size but clean and in good working order. There’s a sitting area with small table and chair right outside the room. Pool area is good sized with lounge chairs and shaded sitting areas scattered around the pool. A bar opens from the lobby to pool, and small tables are clustered under the lobby deck where most sit for breakfast. Complimentary computer use is available from the lobby though Wi-Fi is free and worked from the room. Breakfast is a simple buffet and costs extra so you might be better off just heading to the beach and grabbing something from the spots scattered along the beach road. Besides proximity to the beach, probably the best part of the stay were the staff, all of whom where cheerfully welcoming, friendly and helpful throughout. Enjoyed the relaxing, easy-going stay at Smaragdi Hotel and time spent along Perivolos beach.
