We have just returned from a two week holiday to Santorini staying at the Meltemi suites. We had a great time Athena and her staff were superb, and treated us like part of the family.Nothing was too much trouble.I genuinely believe she was sad to see us go at the end of our stay. The hotel was clean and in first class condition even if it was close to the end of the season.Breakfasts were excellent wirth a lot more than a continental choice. Each day we had a different Greek speciality. All in all agreat place to stay with superb staff coupled with a great location.Well done Atena. We shall be back

Room Tip: Room 14 which was our room had the sun all day

We visited in August 2012 to get married and had a great time. We weren't completely happy with room 6 as it didn't feel very private (you could see the whole room, inc. the bed if you walked past outside and to close the shutters the room would have been too dark- even with the ceiling light). Also, felt a bit uncomfortable that the head-height bathroom window opened up to room no.5's terrace area! We told Athena and she moved a few things around to give us a new room, and very happy with the new room 7! Two single beds put together were a bit hard and woke up a bit stiff every morning between both beds, but lots of hotel beds are the same.

Didn't mind the dumpster bins that were between the hotel and the beach- just hold your breathe when you walk past! The hotel can't help this so don't see why it should be held against them. Dorian's bar and Bob's opposite are a bargain for cocktails and beers, so head here before heading off to the beach bars and paying €7 a drink! Saying that, the food is pretty much standard price whether you're on the beach or not- perhaps a few euros in it at most.

We liked to be by the pool some days but felt the Meltemi Suites' pool was a bit too cosy, so we went to Meltemi Village across the road for a bit of anonymity and personal space.

Athena and the staff were small in numbers but so lovely. The cleaning maid and the night porter were both friendly and always say hi when you walk past. Athena is as lovely as the reviews say- although if you're not a talker just give a quick wave and duck by! Athena also surprised us by decorating our hotel room and outside area welcoming us back and husband and wife for when we arrived back from our wedding, which was a lovely surprise that we really appreciated!

Really enjoyed staying in this hotel and would recommend to others.

Room Tip: The lower the room number the closer to the noisy breakfast area they are! Upstairs rooms offer more...

Prior to booking we had read the reviews and also a friend of my wife's had stayed in 2011 and booked again for next year, so we knew it would not be a risk. First and foremost, the only reason I haven't given a 5 Star rating was that our room was not particularly good. It had a connecting door to Reception, which also serves as a breakfast prep area, so we always woke around 7:00am. Also, the bathroom ceiling was unfinished with gaps at the edges where you could see the plumbing and concrete floor above. Nitpicking over! It did not spoil our holiday and we certainly hope to return. The position of the Hotel is quite good, with a small walk to the beach in one direction and in the other direction to the bars/shops on the main road. I know some reviewers refer to the the untidy street scene approaching the beach, but it didn't put us off, even though it isn't a pleasant walk, you are soon past it and forget all about it. Finally, onto Athena. She has to be the best Hotel Manager we have ever met. She gave us such a warm and genuine welcome that we immediately felt at home. She was at pains to point out that if we needed anything at all she would do her utmost to sort it out. (We didn't complain about our room as the Hotel was full). She and Lela are a great duo at breakfast and the choice and quality were very good. The cleaner who looked after our room made sure that at it was spotless all times. This is a well run, small hotel and, as long as we get a better room next time, we will be back!

Room Tip: Upgrade to a suite.

We stayed here in September, all the previous reviews are right Athina really is a wonderful host that gives your visit that personal touch you wouldn't get in a larger hotel. The hotel is based in a great location just a short walk to the beach. Our room was good, if I stayed there again I would request an upstairs room, ours was on the ground floor and not very private. Make sure you visit Doriens bar and the Meltimi cocktail bar on the main road, great atmosphere and much cheaper than the beach front bars! I was surprised how quiet the resort was at night for the 2nd week in September, but it had a relaxed vibe that we really enjoyed.

We stayed for one week in September, the hotel was in a good position only a couple of minutes away from the beach and very quiet. Athina and her staff were all very helpful and made us feel very welcome, nothing was ever too much for them. The breakfast was wonderful and everything that is said about Athina, her staff and hotel are true. Rooms were cleaned everyday as was the pool area. If lucky enough to visit Santorini again I would go to the same area and hotel. Thank you Athina for making our first try to Perissa very memorable.

If you're going to book this hotel then try and get room 12 as it's the largest, the highest, the only one with a balcony and, best of all, has it's own roof terrace and jacuzzi! Also, I cannot thank Athena and the staff enough for making our wedding so memorable. You truly looked after us wonderfully. Thank you so much,

Stayed for 1 week late July 2012, in room 13, a large airy room, with 4 poster bed, small bath & shower, its own balcony with 2 sunbeds & jacuzzi plunge pool. Breakfasts are vaired to cover all tastes. Anthena was an excellent host throughout our stay. Rooms were cleaned daily to an excellent standard. We can honestly say this was the most relaxing holiday we have taken for some years. Perissa itself is rather quiet, however there are plenty of places to eat at anytime of the day or evening, the beach is volcanic as others point out, but poses no problems & the sunbeds offered by various eateries are often free if you take lunch or drinks during your stay. The beach is not crowded & you can find "space" without being "boxed in" Also the local bus service is frequent & the drivers are more than helpful to tourisits, do not hesitate to use them for visits to other parts of the island. Car hire is quite expensive in comparison to other parts of the Med but not too unreasonable if you prefer. Thank you Santorini, Perissa, Meltimi Suites, Anthena, Nickos @ Dorians bar at the end of the road ( fantastic cocktails for 3 Euros a time ) & to everyone we met during our stay, we will return.

Room Tip: Book a 1st floor room with a Jucizzi plunge pool if you get chance, they are larger than standard ro...
