“Friendliest staff, best service”
Reviewed October 1, 2013

Check in was smooth and efficient and Roy at reception made us feel very welcome. My first impression of our apartment was a little disappointing however I soon realised that it had everything we needed and couldn't fault it it. Some of the fixtures are a little dated but spotlessly clean and in perfect working order. Personally I found the beds a little uncomfortable and hard, my husband agreed but our 12 yr old son thought they were perfect so it's all down to personal preference. Our room was cleaned every day, fresh towels and sheets also. The maid works really hard and always had a smile. The small patio area outside was just lovely and quite secluded, perfect for a peaceful late night glass of wine that can be bought from the local mini market, €3 for litre and a half. The pool area is fantastic, very clean, quiet, plenty of sunbeds and Andreaus at the bar is so friendly and helpful, nothing is too much trouble. Both my husband and I celebrated birthdays while we there and on each occasion we came back to find a bottle of wine in our room along with glasses, flowers and wee note wishing us well. It's touches like that which sum up the service at Meltemi Village. Personable and first class. Will definitely be back.

Meltemi Villas/Hotel is a wonderful stay, the rooms are fine and what you would expect, there are various types within the Meltemi Villa complex, you have a couple of suites that have a jacuzzi, then you have the hotel room side of things, and then the Villas. The pool area is great, albeit there are a few huge palm trees, so the sun is shining more on oneside of the pool in the morning then as the sun hits midday, it moves and shines over all the pool area, though you may have to move beds if you are a sun worshiper, this is not a problem at all though. If you are half board you receive breakfast as standard, then a voucher were you can eat in the outside restaurant area where the food is great though this voucher can only be used in the complex up to about 7pm of an evening, where you can then use the voucher at the restaurant on the sea front which is called the - Atlantis, I would suggest you use your voucher of an evening and either make yourself something or pick some food up from the local market shop.

Certain prices with the restaurants vary not to much though as the food is virtuality the same, though there are a few exceptions, the pricing on the drinks within the restaurants can vary in a dramatic way, I found whilst drinking a beautiful bottle of Santorini Boutari (red) may be €15, it was €28 in another, so just be careful with this particular bottle, though you can walk along and look through the menus and check out the prices. If you are going to use the sun-bed's down on the beach, some charge €6 per couple, you can stay clear of these as some offer Free sun-beds, so check out the boards along the beach front. The bus service is good getting from Perissa (try and get the express bus it only takes 15 minutes and there is a board in the window at the front of the bus) to Thira(Fira) the capital and then from the bus station you can get to other locations around the island for a very small cost.

We have always wanted to visit Santorini and we were not disappointed. The hotel staff were wonderful and so helpful, from reception staff to cleaners. Special mention to Kelly Roy and to Andreaus, he was on hand at breakfast and kept everything topped up, he also served at the pool bar and served lunch again brilliant service nothing ever to much trouble, Thanks Andreaus.
The pool area was always clean tidy and so quiet just what we needed for our week away. The food at the hotel was wonderful and tasted yummy. We stayed on a half board basis which meant we could have lunch or dinner. We ate at the restaurant in the evening called the Atlantis which is attached to the hotel down at the beach, only a short walk again we were looked after. The area of Perissa and the bars and not in your face you don't have people trying to pull you in it very easy going. The beach area is clean and well looked after and the view of the sun setting is wonderful. We took a bus ride to Thira on the express bus only 15 mins to watch the sun set, this is a must see its breath taking. Thira has lots of bars and restaurant's but its a lot more expense but has some nice shops. We will be going back next year definitely to this hotel and resort.

Room Tip: We were in the studio's not the main part of the hotel which were quiet, we had room 54 which ha...

This brilliant hotel features THE most wonderful pool and surrounding area. The staff are polite and very friendly, speaking good English and making sure that all is well with their guests.
Our only complaint would be that they should not be advertising their rooms as "self-catering" as there were only 3 knives, forks and spoons, with one saucepan. No washing up cloths or liquids,so one would have to buy all these items. The room was very basic, but adequate. Sheets were changed daily and the apartment cleaned too - excellent service.(The pillows are like rocks!)
On the plus side to offset these small shortages, the hotel is very well placed to explore and sample outstanding restaurants on the sea front.
Perissa is a beautiful, small town, perfectly placed to enjoy relaxation and has an excellent bus service to allow exploration of Thira and Ia - two stunning towns with amazing views which, I suspect, cannot be beaten anywhere in the world!
This is the best holiday we have ever experienced and we have been to many countries. We loved it!

Room Tip: We had room 51 which we thought was perfectly placed.

We went to Meltemi Village on the recommendation of our daughter and son in law who were there in July and the place lived up to everything they told us about it. Spotlessly clean and the best and most friendly staff we have ever experienced anywhere. We had a studio in the grounds which was quiet and spacious axnd cleaned daily by our lovely maid Christina who was always smiling. Roy on daytime reception was a delight and Andreas looked after everybody through breakfast and all day at the pool bar. The boys at the Meltemi cocktail bar were great fun and even though we didn't go in often were always friendly and checking that were having a good time. The resort was perfect for us being all on level ground and we never had a bad meal in any of the restaurants we tried. Good wholesome Greek fare well cooked and presented everywhere by cheerful friendly waiters.
The local bus service is brilliant and we were able to explore the island easily. We went on the sunset cruise and were so lucky because it coincided with the annual festival of the volcano. We
had a lovely cruise with the opportunity to swim in the sulphur pools followed by an excellent four
course dinner on the little island of Thirassia then cruised out to watch the sunset followed by the
most spectacular firework display we have ever seen. All in all one of our most memorable holidays.

Room Tip: Choose a suite in the grounds for space and quietness..

We were initially slightly alarmed
as we opened the door to our small room - it's basic & small
but what we paid what did we expect!

Plus points.
Staff were excellent polite & friendly
Room cleaned every day
Quiet so were not disturbed during the night
Scene of the mountains from the swimming pool
Breakfast good buffet selection
Relaxing resort
Cheap cheerful week in the sun

Minus points
Room very small

Hired a quad bike and would have been lost without it. We visited different places everyday. There some great places to visit Oia for
It's views and Kamari for more restaurants & better beach.

Let's start with the pros:
Very friendly staff, excellent swimming pool area, tasty breakfast buffet

And here the cons:
Walking distance to beach approx. 5-10 minutes, no comfortable beds, mediocre bathtube/shower.

Overall, it was a pleasent stay. However, we don't understand why the bathroom facilities are left in such condition.
