We stayed here in sept and really enjoyed it. Hotel basic but very clean. Pool area very relaxing.
Rooms though a bit on the small side were well kept. We had air condition which we did not pay for which was a bonus. The beach was black volcanic sands but clean and only two minutes away. Area around was ok with small amount of shops, bars and restaurant. If you want to travel further then bus stop right outside. Over all Very basic but enjoyable.

My self and hubby stayed here in September we arrived in the evening and was put in a very small apartment but said we would be moved the next morning, we was moved and boy how lovely the room was the best we have ever stayed in.The surrounding area was beautiful a really chilled and relaxing feel to the place, some lovely bars around with live bands on various evening. Santorini is so easy to see the sights as buses are regular and everything is close by, the people who work at the hotel are lovely, loved my chats with rem at the bar and panos, all in all a really relaxing holiday with stunning view at thira and oia and the cadera a must see would return without hesitation.

We stayed here at the end of August and had a great time. The hotel is in a great location, just 5 mins from the beach and another 5 mins the other way to the bus stop and a little supermarket. It was lovely and clean and the staff were very helpful and friendly. It is a typical basic Greek hotel, the breakfast is bread, ham, cheese and sometimes fruit but there is a toaster and plenty of jam, (who wants a cooked breakfast when it's 36'c outside anyway?).
The pool was lovely and quiet and benefitted from a lack of children, there were always sun beds available and they had lovely parasols. The rooms were clean and we paid for aircon which heed at night.
We recommend a trip to Dorians cocktail bar (€3 a cocktail) and you can get some good food from Grandmas delivered to your table too. There is a small supermarket up on the main road and a short walk further up is the big coop supermarket (slightly cheaper than the smaller one) but one of the best things about a trip up to the coop is the 24 hr bakery nearby!
Would definitely stay here again. We think it had one of the better looking pools and locations we noticed on our travels around Perissa.

My husband and I recently returned from Hotel Rena (our third consecutive year) and had a fabulous holiday. Our room was clean with fresh bedding and towels daily. This was the first time staying in August which was hot (36 degrees in the shade) but there was a nice breeze at times. Aircon is a must which you pay for locally + you can pay for a safety deposit box.
We do not speak greek but managed to communicate especially with the lovely friendly funny Jacob who we have become especially fond of.
Places we like to recommend to eat at are Waves(great pizzas) run by the lovely Marios, son of the hotel owners. Volcano, Visanto for Thai/Indian food + a lovely cooked breakfast if you fancy a change. Sunbeds on the beach are free too at Visanto. Grandmas is another favourite for Gyros wraps they are huge.
If you have never been to greece before it may be a shock that you cannot flush toilet paper down the toilet so do as i do and take some nappy sacks with you.
Buses are easy to use and are air conditioned.
There is a campsite opposite the beach + a youth hostel in perissa.
There were some children staying at the hotel this time but it did not affect our holiday.
Beach shoes are recommended for the hot sand + getting into the sea. Be prepared for the looky looky men selling sunglasses, hair braids, handbags etc on the beach. Also being offered massages by various girls which can sometimes become a nuisance.
We went on a sunset boat trip which was beautiful and better for me only being 4' 10" and not having anyone standing in my way obstructing my view. Thira and Oia get very busy for seeing the sunset so it was a good alternative.
We will return again :-)

we went as a party of 8 for my sister & brother in law 25th wedding anniversary and had a good time at hotel rena, its in an excellent location being only 5 mins to beach with numerous restaurants, tavernas & bars our favourite was volcano restaurant, charlinas & aqua beach bar.10 mins onto the back road where you can catch a bus to whereva you want. we would recommend hiring a quad bike as roads are good.Hotel rena rooms are pretty small with a small balcony our rooms (there were 8 of us) all had a bit of a whiff which was helped when the bathmat was placed over the drain in the bathroom.Breakfastis basic cheese, ham, bread, jam etc take it or leave it but the tea/coffee & oj are welcome first thing :) .Panos, desi & jacob are fab bar hosts always happy to serve you always making us laugh. would go again
