“Relaxed beach area”

Reviewed July 10, 2013

Perissa is less trendy than Perivolos and Kamari, and so is quieter... and so much more pleasant for it!
The beach is coarse black sand, so not great for kids, but the sea was wonderfully clean (it's been awarded Blue Flag beach status in 2013) and as there aren't that many people, you don't feel crowded.
We liked it, but it might be a bit quiet for some people.

The beach was very clean made up of black volcanic ash which got very hot so I recommend swimming or boating waterproof shoes, most restaurant along the beach owed the beds and umbrellas so offer beach service with drinks most days the sea was reasonably calm the wind could be problem at times but also a relief from the heat the beach road was traffic free after 5 o'clock at night. Till 5 o'clock in the morning, all the restaurant very good and reasonably priced.

We as Thompson travellers were allowed to use the Demilimar sunbeds for free each day and the staff were lovely.
