What a rip of starters were awful garlic bread had raw garlic on it the tomato Crocketts were soggy.2 rump steaks medium rare they were so thin and over cooked no way were they rump more like stewing steak. Spaghetti Bolognese was tasteless and the chicken and chips was 1 small leg and oven chips.owner not very welcoming. What a waste of money.

Stayed in Perissa for a week and found the Hellas on our 3rd evening and stayed there. We are a couple and prefer traditional taverna fayre (plate smashing optional extra for others). There's a conundrum at the Hellas. The first two evenings were not particularly well patronised but the food was excellent. The third night was very full and the food was mediocre. The lamb dishes consisting of meat that was 80% bone. I put this down as an aberration and we returned on our last evening to be met by further mediocre grub. Had we been there for a fortnight, then the Hellas would not have been on our agenda. The waitress is Ukrainian and very efficient and pleasant.

Being in the main Street, rather than on the promenade, prices at Hellas were around 20% lower. I started with Cheese Saganaki, followed by Lamb Kleftiko. Both courses were excellent and the Kleftiko had a very generous serving of lamb. With it, I had 0.5l of good red wine, which only cost 4 euros (compared with 6 or 7 elsewhere). Service was friendly so I would recommend Hellas.
