We stayed in the Cave apartment for five nights and a had a wonderful time. The steps to the property were initially difficult but its amazing how quickly I got used to them. The view from the property is STUNNING. We went to Oia for the sunset one evening, since it is considered one of the best in the world, but the sunset from our apartment was nearly as good. The apartment was clean and comfortable, our host was excellent and there were some nice touches such as filter coffee already supplied. There were also loads of books to read which made for a perfectly relaxing holiday.

A special point regarding our host, Yiannis - our original holiday had to be cancelled because of strikes in Greece and Yiannis gave us an alternative booking in October at no extra cost, and even though he wasn't obliged to do so. We will always remember him for being so considerate.

My wife and I stayed in the Thea Apartment in the first week in September. We really enjoyed it.

The balcony is overlooked on both sides but there weren't people on either side all the time so there was some privacy. Looking at all the other apartments and hotels on the hillside I don't think you could find complete privacy.

There are a lot of steps up and down to the apartment but once you're inside or on the balcony you quickly forget your climb and get lost in the view.

We found it got too hot during the afternoon to sit out on the balcony so the air conditioning was a life saver.

The apartment is cleaned everyday.

As other reviews have mentioned Yiannis was always very helpful, the best way to contact him is on Whatsapp. There were bottles of water in the fridge when we arrived and we mistakenly thought these would replenished but Yiannis explained you only got them on arrival and we said that sounds reasonable to us. The next day he turned up with 6 large bottles! That is definitely go above and beyond.

There are plenty of places to eat nearby and a few small food shops which stock drink, snacks and essential food.

I would definitely recommend the apartment, sitting out on the balcony looking at the caldera as the sun set is a wonderful experience.
