I'm Greek and was a little irritated that the whole island of Santorini has become too commercial. I've been going to the island for years. Everything has become too American! Reverie apartments combines the traditional Greek hotel with excellent service. The hotel is run by Nikolina, George, Vana and Antonia- an absolutely lovely family. Anything we wanted- they were available to help us in any way. It made me feel so much better about all the commercialism- because although there are aspects of this hotel that have evolved with the times (wifi access, flat screen tv in the room) it has kept a traditional Greek feel. They brought us a homemade drink to welcome us when we arrived and served traditional Greek dishes in their cafe'. My husband an I were on our honeymoon and were on the island for 10 days just to relax- and we had a great time. They even decorated our room for our honeymoon which was just adorable! I would definitely recommend this hotel again. It's within walking distance to Fira along the Caldera and just a 15 minute drive to Oia for the sunset. Great family- Great Hotel!

Room Tip: We had the suite and loved it!

We are on our last day in Santorini and at the Reverie hotel and words cannot even express how thankful we are that we chose to stay here. It is in the perfect location with a 10-15 minute walk (depending on your pace) to (Fira square where everything is happening) but also 15 minute to the quiet town of Imerogvili. The rooms were spacious and very clean and there was hot water all day every day. The family that runs this hotel made our stay incredibly enjoyable as we didn't have to do anything to set up excursions and dinners. They informed us of the best places to go and sights to see and booked any reservations we required. I highly recommended renting a 4 wheeler to explore the island. In one day we went to Kamari Beach, Akrotiri, back to Firastefani and then Oia for a romantic sunset dinner at Kastro restaurant (reservation required). Overall this hotel is more than worth the price and we would come back here in a heart beat if we ever make it back to Santorini.

The hotel and this family were absolutely terrific. We were here for 3 nights and wished we were there longer. They have a great terrace on top of the hotel to watch to sunset over the caldera, which we did with wine in hand. We cannot wait to return and enjoy the great hospitality again.

The breakfasts are also wonderful and we definitely recommend you enjoy them!

Room Tip: Any room would be terrific.

The Reverie Traditional Apartments was a perfect place for our family of five, with two rooms to give us plenty of space. Georgios, the father, met us at the harbor and delivered us to the hotel and took us to the early flight out also. Upon arrival, Nikolina and her sister, Antonia, met us in the lobby, efficiently got us registered and then gave us an overview of the island, which was very helpful as we determined where we wanted to go. The rooms were generously sized and clean, bright and cheerful. It is more of a hotel than apartments, although there is a small kitchenette in each room. Breakfast is available in the lobby, which we missed. The hotel itself is located right on the walking path which gets you anywhere you might want to go, it seems, as everything is on the path or just off it. We did find we needed to rent a car, which we had Nikolina order and it was there within the hour. It seems overrun with motor bikes or 4 wheelers, which we are glad we didn't rent, they are everywhere and if you dont know what you are doing, we'd felt much safer in a car. We were very pleased with the service, the friendliness and the location of the hotel. We'd recommend it to anyone.

Room Tip: There are rooms that overlook the pool, but it didn't seem noisy. Some rooms look to the north...

Our family spent 4 days in Santorini (June 2013). Because their larger rooms were booked, we had 2 rooms. One was a larger size with a double bed, and the other was a small room that had two twin beds. Both were located around the pool area.

Prior to our arrival, Nikolina was very responsive to our emails, and she helped us to arrange transportation to the hotel (highly recommended) as well as making dinner reservations for us, etc. Both she and her sister were very knowledgeable and helpful with their suggestions for things around the island, bus service (we used it to get around, rather than renting a car), and so on. Once we arrived, she, her mother, and her father were very welcoming. They offered us a most delicious drink, something like a homemade liqueur with cinnamon, plus biscotti, and juice for our children.

Things are reasonably priced at the hotel; bottled water, snacks (often homemade), coffee drinks, the delicious breakfast, laundry service, etc. The mother gave us some just-picked cucumbers from her garden which we loved.

The rooms were great - very clean and comfortable. There were some small bottles of shampoo and shower gel, soap, and good clean towels. The bed was very firm which is standard in Greece and which we liked. The a/c worked great. There was a great little rack outside our room that stretched out from the wall and which we could hang our wet swimsuits from. I was worried at first about being located near the pool, but nobody swims in it late at night (it closes at 10pm), so there was no issue with that. One night, some of the other guests were socializing around the pool a little late (close to midnight), but they quieted down eventually, so it wasn't a problem.

Behind the hotel, there's a cobblestone lane that stretches all along the little villages. We used it to walk to and from most of the places we visited, and it was very convenient, great for views of the caldera, and great for our fitness goals. There are some stairs here as well as all around the island; it is best for the physically fit who don't mind this.

We enjoyed our location; just a minute from a little grocery market, and about ten minutes or so (depending on your speed, but who wants to rush?) from the main center of town. It's a quiet retreat, and my only regret is that we didn't stay longer.

Room Tip: I would suggest that rooms near the pool or toward the back of the hotel (toward the cobblestone lan...

This was my first time to Santorini, I have dreamt of coming here for years and it was everything I could have hoped for and more and the Reverie family definitely played a big part in making the first 6 nights of our 10 night stay on the island an absolute pleasure. I was highly recommended Reverie Traditional Apartments by a friend and then checked out the reviews on Tripadvisor and was sold. The website is extremely helpful and they also have a free Reverie hotel app which is great. I emailed Nikolina back and forth with questions and her recommendations on which room we should get and nothing was ever too much trouble and I always received a quick response - the emails were always signed off with "we will always be at your disposal" and this is nothing but the truth. We opted for Suite number 2 - it was devine - your own rooftop balcony was what sold me and the views did not disappoint. If you don't mind spending a little more on the accommodation I would recommend this Suite. (I know you hardly spend anytime in the room at all but it was so nice to come back to at the end of the day and wake up in). We ordered breakfast on one of the days and always got coffees each morning (Antonia makes a fab Cappucino) and the homemade biscuits and donuts!!!! Oh wow! Delicious. I could go on and on and the Reverie, I honestly couldn't fault it. From the minute we were picked up at the airport by George and his happy smiling face, the warmest greeting from Nikolina and Antonia and the thorough explanation of the island and their recommendations, the service is the best I have ever received, the location is fantastic, everything was brilliant. We hired a quad bike for 6 days through the Reverie which was a great way to see the island, I think we explored every inch of it. We ate at all three of the restaurants that Antonia recommended to us and all three were amazing - our favourite was Simos. It is just down the road and you will not be disappointed. I loved that the back of the hotel goes straight onto the walkway along the Caldera which is the best way to walk into the middle of Fira - past all the shops and restaurants and the views are breath-taking. We stayed at the Reverie from the 16th until the 22nd July and then went onto stay in Oia for 4 nights - we have just arrived back home in New Zealand and already I am thinking about when our next trip to Santorini could be and we will without a doubt be staying at the Reverie Traditional Apartments again.
