“Great food, wine, and amazing service!”
Reviewed September 10, 2013

We had an amazing time in Pirouni. Not only was the service phenomenal but food and wine were great too! We would definitely recommend this! We had a prawn starter to die for! We were quite full from the generous portions of starters and mains - but kindly, after our mains they brought us some grapes and then a warmed up banana with chocolate! We hadn't actually ordered dessert bc we were full so that was so nice of them!

Mussels in wine sauce, grilled octopus salad and Santorini salad. The selection of wine was very good too!

“Great food and location but pricey”
Reviewed September 8, 2013

We had dinner at Pirouni once as a recommendation from our hotel. The meal, wine and service was great. And I would recommend it to couples wanting a romantic meal as it is a small space and intimate space. Only negative was that is was the most expensive meal we had during our stay and I wouldn't say the whole experience warranted such a high price tag

“Pirouni, Fhrostefani, Santorini”
Reviewed September 7, 2013

Arrived at 17.00 hrs having noticed trip advisor sticker on external menu board stating excellence 2013 awarded. Checked to see if it was open as no one else was seated. I chose a seat over looking the caldera & was immediately greeted by a extremely courteous man. Having checked the external menu I placed an order for oven baked feta cheese with chopped peppers. When it arrived it smelt gorgeous & when heaped on the fresh breads tasted fantastic! Main course was grilled red snapper with baby carrots, broccoli, brussel sprouts. The fish was perfect but the veg would have been tastier if steamed as I think it was boiled. House white wine also very good. Desert was the warmed chocolate souffle with strawberries & chocolate sauce. Verdict: to die for! After the meal a large punnet of grapes was placed on the table which were very enjoyable.
Presentation, colour scheme, aromatic napkins, view, ambiance & a passion for good cooking, result in a highly praiseworthy & memorable experience.
Would I go again, yes! but knowing how difficult it is to find, probably won't!

“Great food, very friendly service”
Reviewed September 5, 2013 via mobile

We arrived and there were only two tables left so we sat next to the kitchen door, this wasn't a problem, it was interesting to see the preparation of the food, of course if you want a caldera view you should book in advance with ANY restaurant and we had a view at our accommodation so it wasn't an issue. The service was very friendly from the start, the waiting staff / owner all appreciating my attempts at Greek and teaching me new words, taking photos for us and suggesting food choices. We also received complimentary dips / bread to start and grapes to finish. As for the food, the mushroom starter with cheese / peppers was yummy (we shared it) and the lamb shank was beautifully tender and moist - the best I have had anywhere, the chicken souvlaki was very generous and moist and tasty too. Both mains came with yummy potatoes and fresh salad, beautifully presented.
One reviewer has commented that there is no house wine - there is - and at 4 euros for a large glass it is very good value and very drinkable.
Overall I thought the experience was fabulous, it was our first meal in Santorini and would not hesitate to recommend. Thanks for the experience!
