“A unique journey to Santorinian tastes”
Reviewed August 8, 2014

One of the best places to taste greek hospitallity and cuisine! The location is great with a view to the caldera. However, we prefered to sit inside, because the architecture and atmoshpere remind the innocent past of the island. The waiters were friendly and proffesionals at the same time, but what really makes this place unique are its unique tastes and plates. It is a mix of traditional santorinian with modern greek cuisine. I suggest to taste greek salad with cod, fava and do not miss the lemon pie!!!

“Victim of their own success...”
Reviewed August 4, 2014

During our stay in Santorini we have read many reviews about this place so we decided to go and give it a try. When we arrived the restaurant was full so we decided to wait for a table next to the door. Unfortunately one of the waiters asked us to wait a bit further from the restaurant!! And so we did. Once a table was free we went and we sat down, waiting for someone to serve us. When the waiter finally came he asked us to leave because THAT table was already booked (I should mention that at the same time there was another free table)! So wouldn't it have been more polite to have invited us to the other table instead of kicking us out????

As you can imagine we haven't tasted their dishes so I can not give any opinion about it but I can assure you that the service was HORRIBLE! Maybe their dishes are really good but that is not a reason to treat clients in such way. Aktaion is a victim of its own success but if the manager/waiters do not know how to deal with it unfortunately they will have a lot to lose...

“Highlight of my time in Santorini”
Reviewed July 31, 2014

My friend and I went to this restaurant for dinner in Santorini and were so pleasantly surprised. The staff was friendly and the food was some of the best we had in Greece. Our moussaka was definitely the best moussaka I had the entire trip and the lamb was cooked to perfection. I can't say enough about how wonderful this little restaurant is. If you are in Santorini, it is a must!

“Have the moussaka!”
Reviewed July 31, 2014 via mobile

Staying in Firostefani. Ate here twice. Super friendly service and good food for both lunch and dinner but the best moussaka we have ever tasted. If you don't do anything else come here for the moussaka! Obsessed? Yes! Was awesome! Great sundown as well.

“Family food in a real greek taverna in Santorini”
Reviewed July 31, 2014

Santorini is very manicured, highly tourist destination, beautiful. Therefore it is difficult to spot a genuine greek taverna. At Aktaion we had lunch at a moderate price, superb quality and wonderful price. The menu is enjoyable in any pick. Alexander our waiter spoke perfect Italian and comes from Athens for the season. He is one of the most knowledgeable and friendly we have ever met. The view and the breeze are great and simple as for almost a century. Enjoy.
