I don't know what one reviewer was smoking when he rated this hotel as "average". This place is THE BEST hotel i have ever stayed in. The only regret i have is packing up n moving to Oia to a pre-booked hotel that had a view that was just as beautiful but for double the price, and hospitality that was a far cry from the one we received at Ikastikies.
This place is BEAUTIFUL. The exterior and interior design of the units are just lovely. The interior- very homely (except our bathroom which had a very unique cave-like design which we loved) and very cozy. We had the suite that had 2 floors; the upper floor leading to the rooftop terrace/balcony with an unobstructed view of the caldera and the lower floor had a basic white kitchen, blue cave-like bathroom with jacuzzi, and super luxurious and comfortable bedding. In the evening, we enjoyed wine with some fruits on our rooftop terrace and a generous breakfast in our room by the window.

Both George and Albert who attended to us are amazing and made our stay even more special. So warm and friendly, u feel like you know them already. Outstanding people.

The number of Excellent ratings for this hotel and the outpouring of love for this place n its staff speaks for itself. U will have a wonderful time here, no doubts about that.

My wife and I stayed here for our honeymoon in September last year and we could not have been happier. The owner and staff are incredible and lovely lovely people. They gave fab restaurant recommendations and made our trip even more special through their help and advice. The room was lovely. I would describe as simple luxury. High quality bed, furniture etc and well designed. We stayed in the room at the front with a private balcony upstairs which we had breakfast on every morning and watched sunset every night from too. The location is good too. Far enough away from the hustle and bustle but all within easy walking distance. We found there was plenty round us though so never really needed to move very far which after them craziness of the wedding run up was bliss. I would recommend staying here to anyone and if we went back to Santorini would definitely stay here.

Stunning rooms elegantly decorated, ultra comfy beds, jaw dropping view, your own (mini) pool at your feet and the obliging owner who is always tending to your needs. Away from the hustle and bustle of the clubbing reverb of Fira but within walking distance from everything, this IS the place to stay, if you can afford the price tag. Pricey, but defintely worth every penny for a memorable stay. Post-card stuff!

Room Tip: If you can afford it, grab the Spilia suite: it is the largest, most luxuriously appointed (it has t...

I booked the hotel on the recommendation of a friend, the 5 star ratings on TA reassured me more on m choice. And they were bang on! It's a small property with only 4 suites. We were lucky as we got the Ostria suite, which is best for honeymooners like us, with the best view of the caldera from our own private balcony and an amazing one from the suite too.
It really doesn't feel like a hotel, more like a home stay, the feeling which gets stronger with the level of the service, which really is top notch. They don't profess to be a five star hotel and provide service only from 8 AM till 8:30 PM, but the service has a warmth which you dont find in the 5 stars. On our departure, they arranged for us a Taxi free of cost, when the service vehicle was not available for us to drop at the port, even though I had not specifically asked for a drop. Albert, Giorgos and all the staff are so helpful that you overlook the small discomfort of the steps to reach to the main street :)
Giorgos, the owner, is the go to guy with great tips to plan your excursions around the island, recommending us bike rentals who would be willing to rent out the bikes to me with only a national license or recommending taverns, where one can find authentic greek food.
The stay at Ikastikies has really made our Greek Holiday, a memorable one.

I won't repeat the layout descriptions. We stayed in the 2 bedroom suite called Roza. The Suite consists of a sitting area, kitchen and 2 bedrooms, one of which is in the loft. The pool was shared along with the 4 chaise lounges. It is in a great location, walkable to everywhere. George was so kind, helpful and courteous. There happened to be a fire in the power station that created a power outage for the entire island, including cell service for our phone and water. Everyone was so gracious, providing candles, water bottles and any help that we needed. It did provide for a fantastic view of the night stars!

The only thing that I wasn't prepared for, although I should have been was the 62 stairs that led to our room. I have RA and that was difficult for me to get up and down, however, for anyone that can easily handle this adventure, it is all a part of the charm.

We stayed in this fantastic property in February 2013. This is a boutique hotel with only 4 rooms. We had traveled in the lean season and hence got a great rate. The caldera area of the island of Santorini is "mind-blowing" and this hotel accentuates that experience. The owner of the hotel, George, is a remarkable man and he ensured that we had a memorable stay. He was there to receive us, picked up our luggage, served a sumptuous breakfast and gave us all the details that was required. The view from the hotel will mesmerize you (that is true for a number of spots in the island) and you can enjoy the sunsets without going far from your room. Another special feature is the design and the layout of the rooms. The hotel does not have any restaurants but you will have a number of eateries nearby.

We will love to stay there once again.

We stayed for 2 nights. I chose this hotel because of very high reviews on Trip Advisor, and they were right!

Room: It's a boutique hotel with only 4 rooms, and our suite had a beautiful design, comfortable bed and couch, free wi-fi, and a very nice view of the sea & sunset.

Service: On our first day, the staff gave us free wine. Breakfast starts at 9 am, which was a bit later than what we're used to, but if you ask beforehand they will provide it a bit earlier too. Also, on the day of the check-in, the staff picked us up from the airport for free. This was very nice. Note: After check-out on the last day, we needed to take a taxi this time. The private cab was expensive considering its short distance to the airport, so it's better to ask for exact options beforehand.

Location: Good restaurants nearby. Also easily walkable to Fira, which has more food & shopping places as well as the central bus station.

Overall, we had a very good experience here.
