Everything was taken care of, thoughtful and nothing was a problem. The hospitality was very generous and genuine. It made our stay very enjoyable and will remain as a special place with lovely hosts in our memories.

My husband and I stayed in the House Zephyr for 3 nights and the House Eros for 2 nights. We were extremely satisfied with our choice. House Zephyr is really large house with king bed, separate sitting area, 2 bathrooms, clothes washer, complete kitchen. The House Eros is smaller with one bathroom but has same features as House Zephyr. Both houses were immaculately clean! Both houses have outdoor private table and private chairs in a common poolside area. Both houses are decorated in Greek style with collectables and art work.... much attention to detail. We took pictures before unpacking (it was that lovely!) We were greeted with wine and fresh fruit in our room. We were treated fabulously and found the staff to be very accommodating. Maria and Alex were our hosts and they made sure we all our needs were met. Maria provided a fabulous breakfast every morning. A menu was left in our room at night for next day breakfast.. We chose EVERYTHING! It was all great....Greek Yogurt, fresh fruit , eggs(hardboiled), bread, marmalade, coffee tea, juice. Maria and Alex helped with all our inter Island transfers and made recommendations for best use of our time in Santorini. The sunset views from Lithies are great. We were so active in Santorini that we were only at Lithies for one sunset! Maria provides drink and hors d'oeuvres for guests during the sunset.
Lithies location is perfect for dining (restaurants few feet away above the hotel) shopping, sunset. We walked to Fira a couple of times during our stay which is about 10 minute scenic walk with MUCH shopping along the way!

Location - I would highly recommend staying in Firostefani on Santorini. Only a 10 minute walk to the shopping in Fira, but away from all of the hustle and bustle of being in town. I agree with an earlier review that the sunsets in Firostefani are just as nice as those in Oia but without the hoards of people. Also, there are enough shops and restaurants in Firostefani that you don't have to go anywhere else to eat or obtain groceries. I also believe that Imerovigli would be a great spot for Sunsets. It's a bit higher up than Firostefani and about a 15 minute walk from Firostefani away from Fira. We did go one night to Oia for the sunset. Oia has more shops and restaurants than Firostefani and the most famous location for sunsets. It's worth going there just for the spectacle of seeing the crowds at sunset, but the sunset at Lithies is just as good and much more relaxing.

Accommodations – There are 3 homes located on one level. We stayed in Eros - it is perfect for a couple or 3 persons. There is a small living room area that has a bed for the 3rd person, a little breakfast table, a flatscreen TV and most surprisingly a very nice 17" wired laptop for guest use. There is a separate bedroom, a nice bathroom with jacuzzi tub and shower and a small kitchen area with plenty of dishes, microwave and a washer. There are robes in the room and the decorations are all very cute. For only 3 homes there is an extensive outdoor area with spectacular views of the caldera. Each home has its own table and chairs. There is a lounge chair area with more tables and chairs where you get some sun or watch the beautiful sunsets. Finally, there are more tables and chairs above the main courtyard, by the office, that provides you with even more spectacular views of the caldera. There is a small pool if you want to cool off. The lounge and pool area was never crowded.

Help – The manager Maria is a real gem. She will help you with whatever is needed. She helped us arrange a sunset cruise at a very attractive price. She also helped us with restaurant recommendations, directions to the beach and with getting a cab to Oia. Alexi is also very helpful, particularly with carrying bags up and down the many stairs in Santorini.

I have only positive things to say about Lithies. The accommodations are great, the price is reasonable, the staff is wonderful and, in our opinion, the location is the best on Santorini.

My husband and I along with our two children - age 16 and 10 stayed at Lithies Traditional Homes - Iris House in mid-June for approximately 3 days. This place and the staff, especially Maria, is fantastic. It exceeded our expectations! Everything was neat, clean and well cared for. The staff is friendly and attentive without being invasive. It is almost like your own villa. Breakfast was always very good and Maria always very helpful. The pool, although not large, was very pleasant and refreshing and large enough to serve it's purpose. The location is great in respect to view and walking distance to many restaruants, shops and bus stop. Iris house had a living room kitchen, bedroom and two bathrooms as well as a washer - which was nice midway through our trip. The Iris House comfortably accomodated all four of us. We would stay here again and most certainly would recommend Lithies Homes to our friends.

Firostefani is a great place to stay. An easy 10 minute walk to Fira but not in the middle of all the craziness. Also, the sunsets in Firostefani as just as nice as those in Oia but without the hoards of people. Lithies is the perfect place in Firostefani. Right on the Caldera rim, it offers a stunning view of the volcano, sunsets and cruise ships going in and out. It is conveniently located to a mini market, several good restaurants and tour/travel agents. Like most places on the Caldera rim, there are several steps to get to Lithies so if you have mobility problems be careful. There is also a utility pole in front of their viewing deck but it did not detract from our experience there. The small pool is perfect for cooling off after a hot day of touring.

Accommodations – There are three homes on one level and another larger home on the lower level; built in the traditional Greek barrel vaulted style to keep the inside cool but A/C is still available. Our home was the Iris home. As you enter there is a living area with 2 couches and both can be converted into double beds. There is a small desk with a laptop computer wired for internet and a dining table. Off to the side there is a small kitchenette with a mini-fridge, stove top, microwave and coffee machine. As you head further in there is a separate bedroom with a very comfortable queen bed. There is also a TV but I never tried it (who needs it when there’s a great view outside). The room has plenty of closet space and a safe for your valuables. Down the hall are two bathrooms. A full sized one with a jetted tub/shower and a smaller one with a stand up shower. And finally at the end of the hallway is a washing machine. The spacious room was cleaned daily and towels changed daily. Also provided was a complimentary bottle of wine and fresh fruit.

Staff – The owner Anita replied to all my emails within 24 hours and clearly answered all my questions. When we arrived, they had arranged transport to and from the airport or seaport (included in the price). Maria is such a wonderful hostess and Alexi is always available to meet your needs. Maria gave us great advice on things to do. She made restaurant reservations and helped with a car rental. Alexi keeps the place spotless and was always serving us and getting us anything we needed. A hearty breakfast is included in the price and was served anytime on your own personal patio table.

Staying in a smaller boutique accommodations has so much more character and personalized service than a larger hotel. Lithies Traditional Homes is perfect in every way and represents extremely good value.

Lithies Homes are definitely 5 star hotels overall quality.
My husband and I stayed one week in Zephyr Home in July. Very vast, it has a large bedroom, large dining and living room, 2 bathrooms and a fully equipped kitchen. It is spotlessly clean, very nicely furnished and every item is of the highest quality. The gorgeous terrace with it's stunning view is sunny, beautiful, chairs and beds are comfortable and the pool, although small is very refreshing !
The owner was extremely quick and thorough in answering all our pre-reservation requests.
Pick up and drop-off at airport or port are both included, which is rather nice. Alex carries our luggage up and down the easy 80 steps and Maria, the manager, is there to greet us with her marvelous smile. her efficiency and her genuine kindness.
Location is perfect. Quietly situated in Firostefani, it is only a five or ten minutes walk from turistic Fira.
Breakfasts (included) were nice, everything fresh and served whenever we were ready in the morning.
The pre-dinner drinks with snacks (also included) were served wherever we wished on the terrasse so we could admire the beautiful sunset and the spectacular view of the caldeira. We loved it so much, we never bothered to go to Oia to see the sun go down. It was so perfect at Lithies !
I forgot to say that we had a laptop (free of charge) in our home !
Maria is a gem and a perfect hostess. She was extremely helpful, pointing out restaurants (do try Mamma Thira !) stores and supermarkets. She even did our car reservation for us when we decided to go to Ancient Thira to see this exceptionnal site. And anything that had to be repaired or changed was taken care of within 24 hours.
I recommend Lithies homes to all my friends. You will have a perfect vacation !

Room Tip: Zephyr is the perfect choice !

There was a group of 7 adults and we rented out the top 3 homes. Each home was beautiful and clean. My husband and I stayed in the Iris house. The view was gorgeous. We had the caldera view and a view of the sunset. The pool was small but perfect for us.

The location of the Lithies property was so tranquil and quiet but walking distance to Fira or the bus stop to Oia. We each had a bottle of wine, fresh fruit, huge comfy robes and a basket filled with soaps, lotions and anything we may have forgotten in the bathroom. We were picked up at the port and our luggage was carried by Alex up and down all those steps.
Maria was a perfect hostess. Our breakfasts were more than adequate and served beautifully. The happy hour wine and appetizers were good also.
All 7 of us LOVED the property and the care we received. I can't wait for my next visit.

Room Tip: There are only 4 homes to choose from.
