We recently returned from a trip with our two sons (3 and 4) on Milos. We stayed at Santa Maria Village in the Moonstone Suite for four nights. It was fantastic!

The hotel is located on the outskirts of Adamas - probably a good 15 - 20 minute walk or a two minute car ride from town. We rented a car because we wanted to be able to easily visit beaches, town, etc. This ended up being important because there were times that a car was necessary. For example, there's no food served on the property, other than breakfast. To have to walk into town every time you want something wouldn't have been convenient. It also allowed us to visit some of the other towns on the island - Plaka at sunset is a must!

The Moonstone Suite was a two bedroom suite with one bathroom, a spacious dining room, living room, kitchen, and garden floor patio with a table and chairs. We looked right out onto the pool and also had a view of the ocean. The room was spotlessly clean, updated, and so convenient. While our kids were napping in the afternoon, we could sit ten steps away at the pool and check on them frequently and easily.

The breakfasts were outstanding - fresh yogurt, honey, local fruits and cheese, juice, breads, eggs, etc. They have a beautiful patio just outside the reception where we ate each morning. It was lovely.

Overall, I found this hotel very quiet (yet there were probably 5 or 6 kids staying there while we were there and it was still quiet), relaxing, clean, and well-located. The only SLIGHT downside was that it would've been nice if you could order something to eat for lunch rather than going into town. We solved this by ordering larger dinners each night and bringing home the leftovers to keep in the fridge, which provided lunch the following day.

I would recommend Santa Maria Village to couples, families, and single travelers. I enjoyed it very much, as did my kids.

Room Tip: I would suggest that you request a room that overlooks the pool. It looked like there were some oth...

The hotel is well located, approximately 5-10 minute stroll into Adamas. The rooms were fine-we had a room overlooking the pool and sea, which is worth the extra ten euro or so. This is more of a service hotel than we usually stay in, so the pool bar was a novelty.

Breakfast was very good from my experience of Greek hotels-all the usual feta, breads etc, but with masses of fresh fruit.

Free wifi in the room was a good strength and seemed that way throughout the hotel.

The standout feature of the hotel is surely, however, Elias. My wife was suffering from morning sickness when we stayed and Elias made every attempt to assist with room allocation, doctors etc. In fact, when we checked out a day early to head home, Elias did by even charge for the night we had booked but did not stay for. This sort of personal, genuinely caring service isn't seen enough from hotels, so Santa Maria can be very proud of their manager.

I had a garden view room, which also had almost immedate access to the incredible pool and accompanying views across Adamas.
The owners were very hepful, pointing out all the best places to visit on the island.

The room had arconditioning and free wifi as standard.
It's about a ten minute walk into the centre of Adamas and all the facilities.

Breakfast was of a good quality, service between 8 and 10 each morning with a nice outside seating area.

Rooms were of an excellent standard and spotlessly clean. Only sight grumble was that noise did seem to carry, especially if you were in one of the lower floor rooms.

Top tip: If you want to explore the island, bring your driving license or some cash for taxis. The bus service on Milos isn't as good as other islands, so walking or taxis were pretty much the standard. View the sunset from plaka (you'll need a car or taxi back, as the last bus leaves before the sunset, but it's about 7 euros down to Adamas).

And you must, must must visit Klima. It's incredible.

We stayed here for four nights after a business trip to Athens. We were looking for a quiet, peaceful place to unwind from work, and we found it. The island is lovely, and the hotel is beautiful. There is a gorgeous pool with a view of the sea. The rooms and villas open to the pool area, with gorgeous wooden French doors, and bougainvillea covered pergolas. The staff is fantastic, attentive and caring without being obtrusive. The breakfast was served in the garden patio each morning. The buffet was kept spotless the entire time. The entire hotel was quiet and relaxing, and was the perfect place for us to enjoy a few days.
Sofia, at the front desk, was very helpful and friendly. She was able to give us a quick run-through of the area when we arrived (exhausted and grumpy), and got us into our room immediately, even though we had arrived earlier than expected. This is such a huge thing, when you are tired and traveling for business! Elias was wonderful. He booked our stay, and clearly explained what our accommodations would be. They exceeded expectations. We planned to move to a superior room on the second night, but loved our ground-floor access to the pool so much, that we stayed in the smaller room. Elias also was extremely helpful with our departure. He is very gracious, and genuinely interested in whether we enjoyed our stay. We will definitely return to the island, and stay here again.

Room Tip: The rooms next to the pool are the most spectacular, for the view, and the breeze. They are the supe...

Positives:
- At this hotel we experienced a very professionally run establishment.
- Its rooms and grounds are lovely.
- Its main asset, however, is the pool. This is large and very attractive. Great for being able to get some decent swimming in. There is also a nice spa pool beside the main pool. There are also plentiful sun loungers. The view of the town and sea from the pool area was sublime - a great position for sunset photos
- The room is of an OK size and nicely furbished. The balcony overlooked the pool and had a distant view of the town and sea.
- Breakfast was included and was fantastic with a great choice of hot and cold items
Negatives:
- The main negative is the distance to Adamas town. This is a good 10 minute walk along the shortest path. If taking this route at night there is a part which is unlit. One night we branched off at the wrong point (even though we had a flashlight) and partly walked into a field of very soft soil. The alternative would be to walk along the road all of the way, but this would take quite a bit longer and the footpaths are non existent in places.
- The bathroom was a bit smelly - a stagnant water type of smell. We solved this by keeping the bathroom window open and the bathroom door closed
- The toiletries provided were a bit odd - they seemed old. The foil disintegrated around the top when the lid was unscrewed.

We stayed at Santa Maria village by chance and loved it! Elias was so helpful and friendly. We were only there for one night but wished we could have stayed there longer. The location is great and walking distance to the town. Marcos was always ready to give us a ride.
We arrived late and he was there to pick us up and waited until we got settled than dropped of us in town for dinner at a wonderful restaurant. We can't wait to go back.

Elias...I promise I will bring back the beach towels :)!!

Our stay in Milos was short as we wanted to see also Folegandros, but we recommend this hotel for the kindness of the staff and the location, very close to Adamas.
The breakfast was rich and we had a real choice of cakes(watermelon pie), quince and kiwi marmelade, fruits, eggs, ham and whatever you want.
We arrived in the afternoon and no charge was due for the pick up from the airport.
Nice pool too.Water was a little bit cool as the period we choose was windy.
Our room looked towards the garden. At the reception we had two computers at our disposal
wi fi connected and e received a present the morning we went away. A beautiful little painted stone. We hope to return.

Room Tip: Surely suites are larger, but as we spent the whole day away, the room was sufficient for us. Well i...
