the best hotel in adamandas. It is the only one with a full menu breakfast, fresh squeezed orange juice and local delicacies every morning. The rooms on the top floor have great views of the port of adamandas. The hotel is old, but it is very well kept. Very clean rooms and very helpful staff. Their recommendations for restaurants in the island were excellent. Very moderate price for what they offer. The island has one of the best beaches in the Cyclades

The Portiani hotel is positioned in a great spot- so close to the port that you can almost see it when you get off the boat. It had a great veranda for people watching at night, as it is just above busy cafe's and restaurants. luckily the door was quite think and so we werent really disturbed at night by the noise. It is 100m away from the bus stop connecting you to the rest of the island.

The room itself was average and on the expensive side for what it was. The bed was uncomfortable and the pillow was lumpy, and the wireless internet didn't work in the room. we reported this to the staff but they didn't seem to make any attempt to fix it. the internet did work in the lobby, which was not air conditioned.

Toiletries were lacking.

Breakfast was a great spread.

Good place to stay but probably not the best value for money.

This Hotel has a very nice location directly facing the port and the sea on Chora but the price isn't worth for money. I staied for five nights in August 2010 for 150.00 Euros per night with my wife. Very expensive for the hotel service level. The room was spacious with 3 beds even if we was two and also quiet even facing the main square. Unfortunately the air condition doesn't work properly and it was very hot all the night long and we hasn't a very good sleeping. The breack fast is nice and and appropriate with many different local cakes and other dishes. The personel isn't very friendly and sometime even doesn't said you good morning. The appropriate price for this hotel should be below 100.00 Euros per night for two peples.

My wife and I stayed here for two nights in June, 2010. It was a great way to start our six-island trip to Greece.

The hotel has a terrific location on the waterfront at the edge of the business district. It is just 20 meters from the bus stop, and 100 meters to the ferry dock – easily walkable even with luggage. There is a nice view from the 2nd floor terrace over the harbor. The terrace serves as a common balcony for rooms on that floor. The lobby area has character – decorated in Greek country style, with sitting/reading/tv area and a desk with internet access, and a cute restaurant where breakfast was served.

Our room (#208) was a 2-room suite. One room was a small sitting area with a sofa and table, and it opened onto a private balcony with a village view. The bedroom proper was good sized, with a queen bed, two night stands, table, desk, built-in closet with luggage shelves for two suitcases. The decor was attractive and unpretentious. The wall-mounted a.c. unit was efficient and quiet.

The attractive blue-tiled bathroom was a bit small with a sink only and very little counter or shelf space. Shower only; hand-held in a large tiled stall.

The buffet breakfast was excellent, probably the best on our trip. Several types of fresh fruit, pastry, yogurt, cereal, hard-boiled eggs, meats, etc, etc. , all attractively laid out and served in the dining area which, although inside, had a view of the harbor.

The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful.

All in all, the Portiani is a very pleasant place to stay, and we do not hesitate to recommend it.

When you get off the ferry you cant believe the location of this hotel right on the main square. Paid the extra for a sea view balcony which we were so pleased of.
This does mean it can get a little noisy at night but we found it quite nice to hear the bus of the Chora.
Breakfast is a daily change of local treats they cook themsleves which is great, they also sent us on our way with a jar of homemade jam.
Even if you dont stay here do come to Milos - great island.

Due to a ferry strike, we ended up an extra night in Milos and stayed at the Portiani for one night. The location is fantastic, right in the main port and the women at the reception desk was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were very tired looking and it was the first hotel on the trip where we both had twin beds. The tv in the room is tiny and the breakfast buffet was more interesting than edible. The hotel does have a nice large patio on the upper level that overlooks the sea & port. Okay for a one night stay, but $70 euro for no sea view seemed high to us.

I went to Milos for a conference last June and booked a room at the Portiani (accent in the last syllable) hotel. The hotel is right in front of the port area and the sea-facing rooms offer picturesque views. The location is really nice, and in the middle of the town of Adamas. Markets, shops and bars, bus stops and boats are just a brief walk away, and this means that the spot could become a bit noisier during the summer high season. In my case, I didn't experience any such inconvenience whatsoever in mid-June.

The hotel people are very friendly and offer good service. Our room had a small bedroom with the basic, necessary furniture and a nice bathroom. The terrace in front of all rooms is a nice hang-out to enjoy the ample, bright mediterranean light and the fresh sea air. Umbrellas and long chairs with tables are there to help you relax; it's almost hard to avoid enjoying a quick nap in these surroundings after a day's worth of work-I'm sure you might experience the same feeling if you find yourself there for leisure, too!

Among the amenities, a small TV connects you with the rest of the world if you need to. A honorable mention is due for the breakfast buffet, which is rich and pleasing. Definitely not to miss on the featured local delicacies and flavors. I may not be a seasoned hotel user, but the place was very clean, I found the staff courteous and hospitable, and I had a great and relaxing time at Portiani.
