the hotel was literally a 3 min walk from the port! They had a great breakfast spread and were very nice. Only downfall is the AC was terrible!! We woke up every night sweating!

As I was lying awake in my bed at the Portiani Hotel at 2:30 a.m. I really thought I was in some seedy part of Athens in a cheap hotel. Certainly this couldn’t be sleepy little Milos. Drunks shouted and sang. Trucks rumbled past. Cars accelerated and roared. Scooters buzzed past. Stereos blasted. I usually sleep well—and typically can sleep through anything. Not at the Portiani. I turned on the a/c hoping the white noise would cover the street noise. When that didn’t work I got up to do some work on the computer. The Internet didn’t work. (In fairness, it did start working later in the morning.) I have stayed at 17 hotels throughout Europe and the Middle East in the last five months and this was absolutely, hands-down the noisiest of all of them.

It is a pity. The hotel is in a great location in Milos and the view from the common balcony of the harbor is world-class. This is a charming hotel with simply the best breakfast I have ever eaten in Greece (and I’ve been to Greece dozens of times). The people are super-nice. I would definitely return except for the noise. My rating of “poor” is based on that alone. Everything else about the hotel was good.

the best hotel in adamandas. It is the only one with a full menu breakfast, fresh squeezed orange juice and local delicacies every morning. The rooms on the top floor have great views of the port of adamandas. The hotel is old, but it is very well kept. Very clean rooms and very helpful staff. Their recommendations for restaurants in the island were excellent. Very moderate price for what they offer. The island has one of the best beaches in the Cyclades

The Portiani hotel is positioned in a great spot- so close to the port that you can almost see it when you get off the boat. It had a great veranda for people watching at night, as it is just above busy cafe's and restaurants. luckily the door was quite think and so we werent really disturbed at night by the noise. It is 100m away from the bus stop connecting you to the rest of the island.

The room itself was average and on the expensive side for what it was. The bed was uncomfortable and the pillow was lumpy, and the wireless internet didn't work in the room. we reported this to the staff but they didn't seem to make any attempt to fix it. the internet did work in the lobby, which was not air conditioned.

Toiletries were lacking.

Breakfast was a great spread.

Good place to stay but probably not the best value for money.

This Hotel has a very nice location directly facing the port and the sea on Chora but the price isn't worth for money. I staied for five nights in August 2010 for 150.00 Euros per night with my wife. Very expensive for the hotel service level. The room was spacious with 3 beds even if we was two and also quiet even facing the main square. Unfortunately the air condition doesn't work properly and it was very hot all the night long and we hasn't a very good sleeping. The breack fast is nice and and appropriate with many different local cakes and other dishes. The personel isn't very friendly and sometime even doesn't said you good morning. The appropriate price for this hotel should be below 100.00 Euros per night for two peples.

My wife and I stayed here for two nights in June, 2010. It was a great way to start our six-island trip to Greece.

The hotel has a terrific location on the waterfront at the edge of the business district. It is just 20 meters from the bus stop, and 100 meters to the ferry dock – easily walkable even with luggage. There is a nice view from the 2nd floor terrace over the harbor. The terrace serves as a common balcony for rooms on that floor. The lobby area has character – decorated in Greek country style, with sitting/reading/tv area and a desk with internet access, and a cute restaurant where breakfast was served.

Our room (#208) was a 2-room suite. One room was a small sitting area with a sofa and table, and it opened onto a private balcony with a village view. The bedroom proper was good sized, with a queen bed, two night stands, table, desk, built-in closet with luggage shelves for two suitcases. The decor was attractive and unpretentious. The wall-mounted a.c. unit was efficient and quiet.

The attractive blue-tiled bathroom was a bit small with a sink only and very little counter or shelf space. Shower only; hand-held in a large tiled stall.

The buffet breakfast was excellent, probably the best on our trip. Several types of fresh fruit, pastry, yogurt, cereal, hard-boiled eggs, meats, etc, etc. , all attractively laid out and served in the dining area which, although inside, had a view of the harbor.

The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful.

All in all, the Portiani is a very pleasant place to stay, and we do not hesitate to recommend it.
