This restaurant is in the center of Adamas.
The food is normal (nothing special) and the price is not really low.
The staff is quite nice.

As a party of 4, we have just returned from 15 nights in the Cyclades. As we were on a boat for the duration, we were able to take in Athens, Piraeus, Serifos, Sifnos and finally Milos, where we stayed for 5 nights and were lucky enough to stumble across the most amazing restaurant, Miranna.

To put this recommendation in context, I’ve personally travelled extensively in Greece and its islands, always sampling the local cuisine. Indeed, on this holiday alone, we ate in restaurants for 15 nights and I have to say that the Marianna beats them all!

As a family run affair (mother, father, son etc.) that has been in business for 40 years, the Marianna wins on all fronts – authenticity, service, quality, taste and also highly important during these austere times – value for money!

When we first approached the Marianna we informed the son, Adonis, that although being English, we had sampled excellent Greek cuisine and did want to eat the ‘typical tourist’ muck. Adonis, always polite and with excellent spoken English (amongst other languages!), informed us we would not be disappointed and he would personally guarantee the quality of the food and our experience. Needless to say, he delivered way above expectations.

No further accolade can be given than to say we were in Milos for 5 nights and we ate in the Marianna each and every night! When you find the best, what is the point in risking it on another restaurant?

In addition to all the local dishes, the Mariana has something for everyone on the menu, and all at very reasonable prices. That said, to have the best experience, you need to allow yourself to be guided by Adonis and his family. He will listen to what you like and then make recommendations based on what is best that day; the restaurant makes a variety of dishes each day, but not always the same, it all depends on what the best ingredients were available on that day – you just can’t get fresher!. We had a menu for the 1st night, but for the remaining 4, we simply went with his recommendations and astoundingly, each night seemed to surpass the others.

As I’ve already mentioned, the prices represent excellent value for money. We kept to the local cuisine, including local beer and house wine (which was also the best quality sampled this holiday). We ate like kings until our tummies were full and our thirst fully quenched, and didn’t spend more than €20 per person. In London, where I live, you’d pay at least £60 per person and for the same and I don’t think the quality would be as good.

Adonis and his family went over and above to ensure we had an amazing experience in his restaurant. The service we received was second to none and he truly understood that good food forms a very important part of a holiday! Additionally, we were really made to feel like one of the family – his mother (whom works the till) and father (whom works the kitchen) came to speak with us every evening and ask whether we’d enjoyed the food.

We were so sad to leave Milos and the wonderful food we enjoyed in the Marianna. Nevertheless, we’ve already planned our next trip Milos and without doubt, will be eating again in the Marianna every night.

Restaurant Maranna is a traditional family restaurant located just adjacent to the ferry terminal in Adamas. They offer a wide selection of traditional greek food including a wide selection of fresh fish and seafood (see picture).

Ask to see the today's specialities and you will be impressed by the wide selection of traditional dishes! (See picture.)

The atmosphere is very nice with views overlooking the port. The dishes are inexpensive and the service is friendly and prompt. The WiFi network is relative fast and reliable.

I stayed a week in Adhamas in July 2011 with my wife and two young sons. Our first time in Milos, and we loved the island, through were underwhellmed by the general standard of restaurants, which surprised us - we imagined that with the higher proportion of Greek tourists compared with other islands, there would be less scope for restaurants to peddle indifferent food to their clientele. Marianna is one of three restaurants in a row on the seafront as you leave the ferry port. I don't believe that there is much to choose between them in terms of the food, but the location is great (no traffic in the evening, unlike the restaurants a little further along on the road out of town). What you do get at Marianna is cheerful, willing and friendly staff who look after you for the whole meal, rather than just the time it takes them to tout you into the restaurant, as well as decent food at a good price and a superb view. We had no particularly bad experiences at the other restaurants on the strip, other than the waiting staff had that surly resignation which all travellers recognise when they have fallen into tourist traps. Well, Marianna might not be a gourmet destination, but they do it with charm. Try this one first!

This hotel is very well located in the middle of the main street of Adamas, the main port and capital of the island of Milos. The service was excellent, the food absolutely delicious. I only stayed in Milos two nights--but came back the second night because it really was so delicious. This restaurant serves all the traditional Greek dishes you would expect, but what sets it apart is the delicious home-cooked flavor of the dishes. The scenic setting is wonderful as well.
