“Reasonable for the price”
Reviewed August 27, 2012

The room was great as we were allocated a maisonette over 2 floors which overlooked the restaurant and pool. It was kept very clean and it was quiet. It was also a good location close to local shops and bars. The only down side was the food at breakfast which was quite bizarre, serving garlic bread and chocolate mousse some days. Although overall the food was fine, especially the lunch which we were pleasantly surprised with. They also had themed evenings such as Italian and Greek nights. The only other thing is there werent many English people there but that didnt cause us a problem although avoid the spanish. Very rude.

we spend 7 days vacation in august 2012 at this good family hotel with very friendly stuff. The cleaning was over average. We thought the swimming pool was a bit to tiny, but it went out all right. We still had a problem with the water, and we think that the water need at better cleaning. The restaurant is OK but there is room for improvement - better quality of meat and a little finesse would be nice. Notice please that you have to pay extra for air-condition (we payed about 40 € for one week. The place need something for the teenagers - a ping-pong table would be nice.

We stayed at Sunrise hotel for 11 days (July 18-29). We had a twin floor room with 2 bedrooms and an internal staircase, which was located on the west building. I must admit i feel lucky cause the opposite building was hit by the sun during the afternoon hours. It's a modern looking hotel with no fancy decoration and no strict dress codes, just what you'd need for relaxing holidays.
Rooms are spacious, clean and every facility worked without problems.
I was skeptical about the all-inclusive program on a 3 star hotel, but to my surprise it is comparable to that of a 5 star hotel. The chef himself described it "just like home", meaning you might not find something exotic but be assured you'll get quality food.
The staff is very friendly and there's no chance you could miss the wonderful Mrs Christine! She is the finest lady :)
You'll certainly won't find anything better for the price of this Hotel.

I was to Sunrise hotel foa 1 week, and was one of the best hollydays i ever had.
The rooms are clean, the food it's great and the stuff was incredible.
I whant to mention the pool bar, where i was spending a lot of time with Pete, wich is a great bartender, and his job is the best, and is very funny, it was a pleasure. Christian the animation is also very nice and try to connect with peole.
In general was a gret hollyday.
Thank you

Room Tip: The good rooms are the one to the higher floor, u have a great view, and they are quiet

Stayed in this hotel for 2 weeks, start of july.
Room:
Stayed in a 2 room, living room with balcony and bedroom with balkony.
overall really nice due to we had one that was a bit higher then the rest, if you live closer to the pool every one will see you throug the windows...

Rooms cleaned everyday, bed changed 2 times a week, and new towels every second day, NOTE the maids will hang up dirty towels lying on the floor between the days!!! wery BAD!! we thougt we had goten new towels and used them the first week....

Food:
Breakfast - same for 14 days, warries between omelet and fried eggs. Very dry omlette, toasts, egg fried toast. some fried ham. a small choice of breakfast cerials. every day allmost same.

Lunch - good, the first week, everday something different. 2 week was a repitition... soups are good, mainly chicken or pork meal, choice of fish as well. salads.
children menu was the same, burger/soasages/french fries/fish stics.

Dinner - good, but not once durring the stay we got sause to the meals!!! MISSED it...

Staff:
Not very friendly. you have a feeling that they are analysing how many beers him/here is drinking, and ohh, he is here again, what now... i really did not like some of the staff, they were rude and stressing like crazy durring meals, making the meals not werry realaxing...

Pool bar:
The guy working there is a rude [--] he had forgotten that he was in a service profession! he even laught about how big som of the guests were.. also he is doing a lot of tasks just to get a way from the bar, it seems.... Lazy bugger... when i ordered the stay it said snacks included, but what snacks?? pizza and toast were pressent at pool bar... some times...

Pool - good. BUT remember children parents, the child pool is 0,5 meters deep!! and there is no were the smalest children can play "alone"

Action team - one person . Friendly, chatting guy... who does darts, pool aerobic and pool volleyball + tryies to chat with everybody and play with the older children. He was okay :)

Overall: satisfied...

For all children parents, there is a store called JUMBO, apprx 12 min with taxi from the hotel ( approx 7 euro) there is a LOTS of toys, and A lot of chlotings, dipers, cleaning articles ++++++ for the kids/family, really really recomend a pit stop there one of the first days, so you dont need to bring A LOT of Child stuff with you :) (all taxi drivers know about it) (the lady/man registering your things calles for taxi for you)

the play area is not "safe", there is a fence that is in bad shape and som high walls that the smallest kids can fall from, kids above 3 years will proabably like it...

The mini store close to the hotel has LIBERO dipers, and swimpants for the smallest kids, but be aware the prise is about 11 euro for a LIBERo pack (25 dipers?)

recomend to spend day in chania.

Sunrise village hotel is about 500 m from the beach, not like some web sites says is only 200 m. But not too bad to walk. pass the mini market and folow the next road down to the fun park... if you are goint to the city go the oposite way (better pavements when you reach the main street ;o)

Summary: dont hessitate to stay here :o) it must be one of the most quiet neigborhod in platanias, no/low trafic and you will sleep good, unless you end up with a lot of party people sitting in the pool area at night...

The hotel is great in terms of location (not in the busy centre but still a nice walk away from the crowed central area). The breakfast was very good for a 3 star hotel (fresh feta cheese and yogurt, vegetables, fresh bread, hot and cold choice etc.).

When booking the hotel the review said all the rooms have a sea view which is not true for the rooms on the ground floor as we could not see the sea at all.

Overall it was great place for a 3 star hotel and I would definitely recommend it.

Room Tip: Ask whi floor the room is located on in advance if you want to have a sea view.
