This being my first holiday on my own I was a but concerned on how I would cope. Marrianne soon put me at ease and was so helpful during my stay that I am sure I did more and saw more than I would have done otherwise. Ideally situated. Close enough for all the tavernas etc for evening meals and drinks etc, but far enough away for peaceful evenings. Would recommend it to anyone.

We were greeted by the property owner Marianne who is on site every day. By the end of the holiday she was a real friend. Her attention to detail is second to none to ensure that guests have all they need for their stay and is happy to help in any way she can. She was a mine of information about the area recommending restaurants, beaches and places to visit. It was very reassuring to know that there was someone there to help out if help was needed.
Our apartment had an incredibly well kitted out kitchen and living area on the ground floor and a bedroom and bathroom on the upper floor. Marianne had provided a superb range of toiletries and hand soaps which my wife loved. The condition of the apartment was immaculate and a great deal of thought had gone into providing all the bits and pieces necessary for our stay including a welcome bottle of local wine, raki, olive oil and a vase of bright pink Cretan flowers. Marianne had everything covered. Toilet rolls, kitchen roll, mosquito plug (not that it was needed), ice making bags, tissues and chilled water in the fridge.
The rubbish and recycling was collected every day and apartment cleaned with fresh bed linen, towels, tea towels and table cloth three times a week. My wife loved coming back to the apartment to the smell of freshly laundered linen. Marianne also made the well stocked laundry available to us and provided additional items such as beach brollies, beach/pool inflatables, a library of reading books, beach towels and insisted we ask if there was anything we might need that wasn't there. Needless to say we wanted for nothing!
The patio area had a table, chairs, umbrella and a lantern with spare candles with fantastic views across Platanias and out to sea. We spent a lot of time relaxing here, especially in the evening with a glass of wine. Our bedroom also had a balcony with a table and chairs and the same stunning view. Marianne had provide everything needed to hang out clothes and there was a huge amount of space to hang and store clothes/shoes etc.
The pool was very welcome especially to cool off after a day out.
The location is really good, a five minute walk to a beach with all the facilities and easy access to the surrounding area. We hired a car and there is car parking on site. There are many good restaurants in Platanias all within walking distance but do ask Marianne for the details of the best ones.
My Wife and I love Crete and visit often. This was the first time we had stayed in Chania and after our experience at Pelagos Holiday Apartments we shall definitely return.
We would recommend Pelagos without hesitation. It has to be the best holiday both accommodation/hostess-wise we have had in the 10 years we have been holidaying in Crete and the western side of the island has stunning scenery.
Thank you Marianne for a wonderful stay and for looking after us so well.

Fantastic apartment in lovely location with a great view for breakfast in the morning! Marianne, the owner provides everything you need, if you need anything extra you only have to ask. The place is kept tidy and clean and Marianne is on hand to answer any questions you have.
The apartment is about 30 minutes from the airport and within easy driving distance of some of the most beautiful beaches on the island.
Service and hotel both mezmerizing.Very clean.Warm-hearted people!we stayed there for 4days on a high season and even though the fact that the hotel was full the service was excellent !apartments suitable for families with kids but also for couples.kitchen FULLY equipped.even the best chef would not miss anything in this kitchen.the pool was clean and in the right temperature all the time!also for those that didn t want a swim in the pool tha main beaches of platanias are few metres away.the hostess miss marrianne was there for every information that we needed. Trully professional and on the same time kind and warm-hearted. If anyone search for a hotel to stay on chania(platanias),short termed or long-termed, this is the one for him.A stay worth to be remembered.I wish all my stays would be like this.many compliments !

We had a wonderful holiday staying at Pelagos Apartments. Crete was a magical place. If you have a car then you have access to fantastic beaches, wonderful mountains and as much history as you want. Marianne was so helpful, she is a font of knowledge with information about excursions, the best supermarkets and great restaurants. We did eat out but also ate in quite often because our views frrom the balcony were so lovely. The food was so fresh and full of flavour, strawberries, cucumber and tomatoes were amazing.
Our favourite beaches were Falasarna and Elifonisi but the water everywhere is beautiful, crystal clear and an amazing blue. Hania is close by and is a lovely old Venetian port. I would also recommend the Botanical gardens if you don't mind walking up and down a hill. The walk down Sumaria gorge is as good as all the guide books say but we were glad we had taken light walking boots.
It was so easy to walk down into Platanias to do the shopping or go out to a restaurant in the evening or take a dip in the sea. It's not the best beach but the water is lovely and there is a sandy bottom and plenty of cafes to enjoy a drink by the water. I would thoroughly recommend the villa and the area to anyone, especilly if you want to be a little away from the clubs and nightlife.
We're a couple in our early twenties who were looking for a quiet, relaxing holiday. We spent 9 nights at Pelagos and found just that.
Positives:
- Apartments are clean, modern, well maintained and fit for purpose.
- Marianne was very accommodating and helpful. She also booked our transfers to and from the airport.
- Great balcony views.
- Free WiFi.
- A great selection of nearby restaurants and things to do.
Negatives:
- As non-smokers, we were a bit annoyed that smoke from adjacent balconies found it's way into our room quite easily if our balcony doors were open.
- Although located close to the town, the walk back after dark was unlit. Although it didn't cause us any issues, some people may feel uncomfortable on their own.
Overall, the negatives are quite small and we'd still rate our experience at a 5* one.
Thank you!

We stayed here one week in May and had an excellent time.
Our apartment was great: clean, spacious, well equipment and with a sea view terace and balcony it had everything you needed. Marianne was a great host giving nice ideas for day trips. We really recommend this place for families and couples who travel individually and are looking for a quite, value for money place in the Chania area.
