“Great Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 20, 2014

We had made the reservation online on one of these hotels booking sites. Selected all incl. and was some how a bit nervous for the standard of this, as one get a bit feed up with buffet food all day long. Arriving to Minoa hotel this expectation was put a shame. The choices for all incl was, buffet, a la carte, and to many restaurants. Food to a high quality and standard. Breakfast was great and in general a great place to dine.

A hotel with a really high service, great pool area, fantastic employees and everything is to a high standard. I have to say, that it is most likely one of the best hotels I ever stayed at in Greece.

The room we had, was perhaps the biggest issue. Small garden and with no view as well. Did not order the most expensive room in the hotel, but nothing to do with a garden view, more like a carpark view. The most noisy air condition system, meant we turned it off during the night time. And hte room was actually quiet humid. Not helping with a very noisy aircon. I have been in many hotels and even during my work, I stay in hotels every month, but this room was not up to the standard as the rest of the hotel.
But all in all, get a room on the first or second floor, not in the garden of the bungalow.

The reception was great and amazingly the provided us with a complementary room, as we had a late departure. That way we could enjoy the hotel for the hole day, and had room to shower and change. Fantastic service, and really appreciated this.

Not the last time, we will stay here, but will select another room next time.

Thank you for great service and the wonderful time the staff provided to me and my family

Room Tip: Do not select bungalow with garden view. Very small garden and only view to a car park.

Great hotel with fantastic facilities. Not far from chania town. Lovely pool and food was to a very high standard, even had free mini bottles of wine in the room (which they replaced each day).
The hotel is a bit of a quiet oasis, but if you want lively the road the hotel is on leads to chania and has a generous number of restaurants on route.

We had a family half board holiday here this July and the entire family was most impressed about the friendly service, good food and excellent pools. The new part of the hotel is on the sea side and you can choose the pool or sandy beach next to it for swimming and sun. The resort has many pools so they were never too crowded or noisy. Sun beds were always available despite the normal nuisance of ‘towel booking’. Staff was very friendly and speak good english. Shops including Lidl are within walking distance as well as several restaurants in Platania. For the nicer restaurants you may well need to make s trip to Chania though. We booked a room with a sea view which was pricey but also very nicely located. The only snag was the gym which opened only at 9:00 am so there was not a chance to visit it prior to breakfast.

Room Tip: With a sea view room you cannot get it wrong

We had a memorable holiday with our family in this beautiful hotel. We would like to thank especially Sophia for all her kindness and really good service she has given us. She made it happen that we were upgraded to a gorgeous bungalow suite with private pool with a beautiful garden, mountain view and the large swimming pools. Personnel are friendly and service is good. The location of the hotel is ideally near the centre of Platanias. Quality breakfast is outstanding. Overall we have enjoyed our holiday in this hotel a lot and would recommend this great hotel to everyone. Special kind regards to Sophia

Everything was wonderful. Good-sized room - every room had spacious balcony - every room had some sort of nice view. We were at the back so it was quiet with view of trees & mountains. Hotel is beautifully landscaped and immaculately kept - palm trees plus other trees to offer shade, lovely calla lillies & other flowers with not a dead-head in sight. Pool area goes on & on with different pools to suit different people, i.e. shallow, medium, deep. Plenty of loungers. Snack bar & Italian restaurant (extra). Huge choice of delicious food in main restaurant - Cretan, Greek and general European. Cretan & Greek dancing/singing evenings but no entertainment on Saturday night. They clearly have customer service training as every request is met with 'of course.' There is a walk-way above the road to the beach side where there are more rooms, another good sized pool, another beach bar & 2 more restaurants (one you pay for). Is a big complex with lots of facilities (spa bit expensive) but doesn't seem too crowded as is spread out.

Room Tip: All rooms are good. However, if you want beach rather than pool, you may need to specify this.

Minoa Palace is an excellent example of the Greek hospitality and Cretan food. Very clean, with beautiful gardens, several swimming pools and a well organised beach. At side, there is also an organic garden with seasonal vegetables that are used by the talented chef Yannis Tsivourakis.
What makes a difference is the true politeness of the personnel and the professional service they provide. We would definitely recommend it, as it is the best hotel we have visited the last few years.

Room Tip: Rooms with sea view are nicer

We stayed here at the end of June and had a fantastic holiday. Our first impressions were good, the reception area is very stylish and comfortable. We were a little disappointed when first arriving at our room as we had paid extra for a pool view room and there was no sign of the pool. The hotel did offer to try and find us a pool view room within the next few days but we decided to stay where we were as we didn't want to move mid holiday. Despite not having the view requested the room itself was exceptionally clean and comfortable with a lovely balcony, good air con and a very good safe. Towels were changed at least once sometimes twice a day with a nice touch of a chocolate being left. We spent most of our time by the imperial pool where there was always sun beds available as reserving of sun beds is not aloud. We stayed on a half board basis but as we like to eat out in local tavernas we were able to swap our evening meal to lunch which was ideal and the food on offer is of a high standard with lots of choice. We enjoyed going out into platanias where there was a large selection of bars and tavernas. Our particular favourite tavernas were panorama, symposium and Mylos. The cafe bar does fantastic cocktails with a great atmosphere! Overall it was a fantastic holiday and we would definitely return!

Room Tip: Don't bother paying to get a particular view, all rooms seem to have spectacular views.
