We enjoyed our stay at the hotel and the service provided by the staff was excellent.
The hotel had all the amenities required but it lacked character and was on a busy road. We were half board but noticed that most of the Scandinavian guests were all inclusive. I am glad we were not as the buffet evening meals got quite boring. There are some fantastic restaurants eating out and I would recommend you follow the restaurant recommendations on trip advisor.

Room Tip: The ones overlooking the garden seemed good. We overlooked the swimming pool which was ok but we did...

I've had two business meetings at this resort and it is really 'that good'. If you like the finer things in life, it would be difficult to beat the experience here. Friendly staff, excellent food, beautiful views, large rooms, big comfy robes and right on the Med. The water in the Sea gets very deep very quickly, so be careful with little ones that don't swim. All in all, this is A+++ all the way

We have just returned from our trip to the Minoa Palace Hotel - we had two weeks Half Board.
We booked via the internet with Travel Republic, flew with RyanAir for the first time which was good (but read the small print of their charges!!)
Room 332 - our room was a standard garden/mountain view, we had a fab view and could see the sea from the balcony, it was nice and quiet. We had the sun on the balcony practically all day. The room had shampoo's, shower gel, hairdryer, was cleaned daily. We had the best sleep in years, the beds were so comfortable!!!
Food and drink- we thoroughly enjoyed the food, never got bored, they had themes, had some entertainment too. We ate out a few nights too. Which ever side of the hotel your room is you can go and have breakfast by the sea. There is also a gourmet resturant, which we did not actually try. The drinks are not overly priced, cocktails are about €8 each, two small beers was about €5. Some drinks were only a little bit more than down the town.
Pools/beach - there are two parts to the hotel, there is a nice footbridge that joins the two parts, over the main building there are two adult pools and a childs pool, with an outdoor sort of jaccuzzi. There is a pool bar which is not swim up to. There was always plenty of sunbeds, although we went at the end of the season, there was also lots of trees so additional shade could be found. There is background piped music. The other pool is over the bridge and is less interesting, just a square, looks pretty at night. The other side of the bridge is the beach, only a short walk from the main hotel. There was plenty of sunbeds, there is a pool bar and there is attendants to take your order, you can charge everything to your room so no need to take money out. The beach is sandy and then shingle, will be a good idea to take beach shoes to get into the sea.
Other - there is a little shop that sells postcards and stamps. There is an internet area, there is a library where books can be swapped with other guests. There are guests of all nationalities at the hotel.
Spa - I had a physiotherapy massage, it was good, not the best I have ever had, not really a relaxing ambient setting, was a good price, €70 for a 60 mins massage. However the indoor jaccuzzi, sauna, steam room etc you had to pay for, I did not feel that you can openly use the spa as and when, I think it was because everything was behind doors. There is an indoor pool, I did not try that as the sun was shining and we do not see it very often!! In the past I have loved hotel spa facilities - such as the Merit Crystal Cove in Kyrenia, I crave that kind of spa - where you wander around in your bathrobe and drift from one area to the other. The staff are friendly though.
LOCATION - FAB - Platanias is a great place to be, lots of bars, resturants, playparks with crazy golf, go karts etc, however the hotel is far enough away without it being noisy, it is a bus ride to Chania, the stop is just outside the hotel (€1.90 one way - by the way it is only an additional €2.30to Chania Airport!!! and so easy) the bus goes to Chania bus station which is a short stroll away from the Venetian old town. There is a plethora of places to eat.
We hired a car for 5 days ( got it from the hotel - €28 a day, we did just over 700km which meant that it cost us €0.30 cents per kilometer in total with fuel and hire) The National Road is not far away, there are a number of war cemetries - you can book a battlefield tour, worth it! There are some amazing beaches - Souda bay is fab - will add some photos.
All in all it was a great hotel in a brilliant location. We would return again.

It is difficult to find someting different to say about this hotel that has not already been covered in previous reviews. We have stayed at top class hotels in many countries of Europe and this is up with the best. It was lovely to have guests from many countries in Europe and some from Australia and the USA. The attention to detail from the staff was noteworthy from remembering what your drinks preference were, ensuring that the all the shower gel etc was replaced daily, to folding night clothes on the bed. The lady who serviced our room, Artemis, is worthy of particular mention as following her daily visit our room shone! The food in the buffet was plentiful, well presented, and flavoursome. The choice was in some respects was too much as there was a temptation to over eat in order to taste all that you wanted to. We had two weeks of first class service from all the staff in the hotel. Recommended without reservation!

Room Tip: We had a mountain view room (the cheapest class in the hotel). It was the quietest room we have ever...

We just got back after spending one week at this beautiful, relaxing and modern resort. I can highly recommend staying at the Imperial (new) side, which is close to the beach.
The room is large, modern, with EXCELLENT beds, and the seaview is breathtaking.

The service at the hotell is great, menu is varied and nicely prepared, and with half board we had all we could wish for, as we preferred to have dinner in local restaurants, also a nice way to enjoy Greek hospitality.

The private beach is small, with comfortable sunbeds, and the employees so sweet and serviceminded. Areas are well kept, clean, and the whole area is just calm and relaxing.

We will certainly visit this hotel again :)

Room Tip: Rooms at the Imperial part are modern and close to the beach

Hotel is excellent, we stayed in the main building with a pool view, on the third floor, room 322 which had a view overlooking the restaurant and bar area plus the pool and gardens. Very pleasant. We were on half board, which was good. Plenty variety at breakfast. Dinner choices were good and was always able to have nice food. Got to say not too enamoured of the white wine choices though. Plenty sunbeds and umbrellas available at this time of year, would be a good idea though to have thicker cushions on the wooden sunbeds, especially if you have back or hip problems. I unfortunately, took unwell while staying here and the hotel were very helpful and efficient in bringing in the doctor, and tending to my needs. The beds were excellent, one of the best hotel beds I've slept in, very comfortable. Reception also arranged change of pillows to suit and a kettle for making tea, which is not generally available. Very impressed with the friendliness of the staff, where nothing is too much trouble and always served with a smile. Not like Spain unfortunately where smiles are in short supply.

Room Tip: third floor good, but not on the mountain view side, in the main building
