“Does it get any better....”
Reviewed September 24, 2013

We had lunch here on Friday (Sept 13) again on a recommendation from a friend.
We were NOT disappointed.
In terms of location it really cant get any better, being on the beach with undisturbed views across the bay, you could sit for hours just enjoying the view, never mind the food.
This is definitely more a 'Restaurant' style than traditional Taverna style and does not however detract from still serving 'local' food.
We had local starters - Kalitsounia,Saganaki,Afelia (smoked Pork) which was beautifully presented and was superb in taste and clearly home made.My wife had Souvlaki which was some of the best we have ever tasted, and I had Pythagia which again was superb. Very reasonably priced at less than Eur45 in drinks.
If you are in Platanias then please do go.

“Let down by service”
Reviewed September 21, 2013

If your in to views. As others have said the olive tree is right on the beach. We arrived at about 9:30pm. A bit late in the evening, but it wasn't overly busy and we were able to choose where we wanted to sit. We were quickly seated and given our menus. We then waited 15 minutes before someone came to take our order. Our bread arrived shortly after taking the order without the table water we ordered, which arrived about 10 minutes later.

Our main arrived shortly after and this was delicious. I had the stifado whilst my girlfriend had the captain something or others pork from the special menu which she said was also delicious.

After we had finished our meal we waited over 25 minutes for our plates to be cleared. At this point even if there was a dessert menu we had decided to not bother as time was pushing on, and asked for the bill. The price of 30 euros for our meals with a glass of wine each was excellent value and the overall experience would have been a much higher rating had the service not been so poor with waiters seemingly rather happier staring at the stars or flirting with female diners.

The location is right Down to the Beach where you can enjoy the sunset with traditional meals. The atmosphere combined with the Beach will give you a pleasent evening.

“Brilliant location”
Reviewed September 12, 2013

This restaurant could not be any closer to the beach without actually being on it. We reserved a table that was on decking 1 step away from the beach with an excellent view on the sunset. Service was good and the food was brilliant. If I had more time I would have definitely returned.

“Good food and”

Good food at reasonable price by the beach. We stayed in Platanias for a week and ate both lunch and dinner at this restaurant several days. The waiters were happy and helpful and made the experience great! :)
