stayed here for 2 weeks and couldnt of asked to stay in a better place. if you asked for towels and sheets they would be given to you pool and apartments were very clean . the bar staff are lovely there is a shop thats open till 12 o clock most nights and has everyting you would need . hersonnisis is brilliant great banter at night malia is also great . the reps (sam and chris) are the best reps i have ever came across on holidays great personalitys very helpful and kind, they would be around every day checking if everyone is having a good time and their trips are amazing also they are very good at their job and people dont give them enough credit. thanks to the mika staff and sam and chris i had the best holiday of my life and would recommend it to anyone only problem was i didnt want to leave the place.

Room Tip: get aircon :)

Stayed here from the 15th July to the 29th July it was great for the first week and then the second week we had a new intake and it went from Ok to unbearable. The holiday was sold as a faimily holiday and I specifically did not want a kids booze fest, we were told that we would be in a quiet area (wot a joke). There were three girls from the Eire and three lads that made our lives hell due to their booze filled antics and the others weren't much better!!!! So if you like little sleep from midnight to 04:00hrs and you want your children to be woken up it'll be a perfect faimly holiday for you. The reps couldn't be bothered even tho they got numerous complaints from other faimlies and the boss was no better. It's also suppossed to be self catering ALLEGEDLY the room had two hot plates and that was it, no oven or toaster, one sauce pan and no can opener to open tins of food and the fridge was a joke as the milk you would buy during the day would go off by morning cause the fridge wouldn't keep it chilled and you end up throwing any fresh food you bought into the bin(not forgetting it's self catering holiday).
Don't forget that you pay for the air conditioning as an extra at a daily rate, when it's hitting 40 degrees outside you cann't do without it cause if try and sleep at night with the doors open you get woken up by the lagered up kids during the night( but it's not a 18-30 holiday it's a faimly holiday ALLEGEDLY).So all in all the second week was awful and we were glad to get home all in all what with being forced too eat out for all our meals it was a waste of three grand. DEFINATELY NOT A FAIMLY HOLIDAY. On the plus side the rooms were very clean and the pool guy was a right character, but that was all. WHAT A WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY AS A FAIMLY HOLIDAY HERE A DEFINATE NONO!!!!!!! This is an 18 to 25 holiday regardless of wot the travel agents say.

Room Tip: Don't go.

Just back from a 2 week stay - staff were lovely, pool, grounds and the basic SC apt were kept very clean, towels were fluffy, air con was ice-cold, scenery and the little villages were lovely, food was very good and not too expensive and our 2 teenagers made many friends and happily went to Hersonissos most evenings. (Shenanigan's is the hub we were told).
One of the best holidays we have ever had - great value accommodation. Sincere thanks to the hard-working reps (Chris, Sam) who were present almost daily and went out of their way to make sure everyone was happy - they also looked after the younger guests when they were in town of an evening. You could cook a basic dinner/lunch if you really wanted to (pasta, rice, burger, toasties etc) but it's very cheap to eat out instead. The pool bar does snacks (proper bacon!) which are also good value as are drinks.
In response to earlier negative reviews, 'the Irish' who were staying here mainly included young doctors, nurses, teachers, University students and service-men. Behaviour/noise was not an issue - there was 1 instance of hijinks/noise from a very young group apparently (we weren't aware, only learned later via hearsay) but as there is a zero tolerance approach, they were evicted immediately. A security man is on site which is fairly normal for hotels, and we found it reassuring, and the doors of the bar are closed at midnight to prevent any noise reaching the rooms.
Our sleep was not disturbed in any way and the younger crowd have their own smaller pool so that families/those of a delicate disposition can splash about undisturbed in the main pool. In general the atmosphere is very friendly, relaxed and good craic - mainly young people but some older couples and families - if you prefer the nursing home/god's waiting room style hotel then you will be sorely disappointed, but there are a number of such establishments just up the road in Stalis... Equally, if you have an issue with Irish accents, you might be advised to stay in Malia instead, where many other nationalities might provide an interesting alternative in holiday behaviour and deportment. ;o) Other clientele were Belgian, Dutch, English and everyone seemed content.
Restaurants: Lychnos (just opposite the hotel, up a short lane way) excellent and great value - run by a lovely family. (average cost for family of four = 50 euro, including house wine - try the kleftiko..)- Kostas (just off the church square) - excellent, similar price range - 'Nichos The Fisherman' - 10 minute stroll to Koutouloufari village, right at the end, up a short lane - lovely owners, Mum is the chef, home-made chips are like roast potatoes. Enough said. Patriko's was also good (60 euro).
More expensive (and less impressive) options were Meze's (90 euro) and Emmanuel's (70). Old Hersonissos also had some nice places (offering goat and rabbit..) right at the end of the village (15 minute walk but worth it).

Big thank you to all the staff and reps, we hope to return next year and will highly recommend Mika Villas to anyone who will listen!

I just spent 2 weeks at the Mika apartments with my partner we had a studio on the big pool side overlooking the pool lovely view nice and clean studio also.. beds are not so good but its a 2*. they have put the groups of people in the villas across the road and family & couples on the big pool side so the noise level is peaceful. obviously the pool opens at 9am so the kids will wake you up.. yes they charge you 100 euro deposit but if you get Aircon and a safe they will take it from the deposit. for 2weeks Aircon cost us 70 euro & 20 euro. If you pay 20euro extra you get to keep your room until 5.30pm on checkout day which is well worth doing. or you could just check out @12pm & regret it. the Aircon is 40euro for 1week. yes you only get 1 toilet roll per week so go to lydl to buy a pack of it... Vodka is 10 euro a litre in lydl. The manager helen is very nice and if you want to move rooms she will be happy to let you move. the cleaners are very good if you need a new towel or sheet they will give it to you. if something is not working in your room the handy man will fix it pronto.
You need a quad bike which you can get for 20Euro aday with full insurance if you quote Danny from Ireland posted it up.. The quad bike shop is the first 1 nearest the villas going down the hill.. run by a women...(pelekakis quad bike rental +30 6977541977) I booked from Ireland before I got to Greece to secure a decent bike. call & book or write down the name & visit when you get there. this was my 2nd time to greece. 1st time in 2009... a lot has changed.. alcohol is like poison stay away from spirits and drink beer and bottles only.. as the vat went up they have been mixing spirits with chemicals to make more money.. the spirits will make you sick.. dont get ice as they use dirty tap water... to make it.. if you want good food go to Galini's or down to Hersonissos & have dinner overlooking the moonlight on the sea... starlight is a good restaurant for value and serve the best beer in an ice cold glass... best beach is stalis beach ask for directions or get a cab beware the ladies are all topless on this beach.. or if you want a more romantic beach go to paradise beach in iraklon.. If you are going to go on a wild holiday get a taxi to Malia drinks are dirt cheap & ITS next best thing to ibiza or aya napa... head for about 10pm.. theres a mac Donalds and KFC & dominos pizza in malia.. Subway in most area also.. well overall the weather is great 42 degrees during the day especially high up where mikas are and 32 degrees during the night.. would I go back..........
if it was the only place available yes as its better than freda and dream apartments trust me..

Room Tip: Just get a good view from your balcony.

Got a good reception initially when we arrived on the sunday but had to change room. The 1st room was just beside the bar which had music constantly blaring. The 2ND room over the main pool was much better.
We had travelled with falcon/Thompson. On their information board by the pool it stated that bed linen was to be changed twice a week. By the Thursday the sheets were still unchanged. We approached one of the reps who said that the sheets weren't to be changed because the apt was 'furnished'. I've never brought a bed with me on a plane before! We went to the Mikka manager and she told us that the sheets would not be changed during our visit. She wasn't pleased when we showed her the notice that was on her board. She ungraciously changed the sheets that night.
It wasn't only the sheets that changed. Her pleasant manner was also gone, replaced by a monosyllabic vocabulary.
Our request for clean sheets wasn't appreciated and the notice was removed that night. By the end of the week the apt also had a thriving population of ants.

Myself and my sis are just back from Mika Villas. Yes, of course we were worried after reading through the reviews as we are not teenagers looking to party all night but honestly there was no need at all. We had a really fantastic time. If you want loud than stay on the bar side of the complex, if you want quiet than stay on the shop side. We stayed on the shop side (room 171) and it was just perfect. Staff were friendly, and very helpful if we asked for anything. There is a hill down to the town which would not be great for elderly people but it only took us 15 mins back up in the evenings. The apartments are basic but functional. Showers could do with a bit of work as they do leak all over the floor but you can live with that. Be prepared to buy your own toilet roll as they only supply you with one on arrival. I was more than surprised when I asked and was told you only get one.The brochure does not state this but you need to buy any further toilet roll yourself. Neither beds nor towels were not changed for the week we were there however, if you ask they are more than willing to oblige with fresh towels. Plenty of great restaurants nearby but best of all is one on the corner 'Lichnos'. Great food and very friendly ower Yannis. No-one leaves a stranger in his restaurant. We would go back tomorrow. Brilliant holiday. Thanks Mika Villas.

Room Tip: Rooms on the shop side of the complex are more quiet. Try get an upstairs apartment for the view if...
