We checked in to a fourth floor suite with sea view... well worth the extra - very spacious room, with a boutique flair and a great patio with a fabulous view of the gulf and the bridge in the distance. The staff are fabulous, without being 'in your face' and we had the please of a great breakfast brought to our room (at any time wanted) - nothing was too much trouble.
We stopped here for a few days to relax after two weeks in Epirus on our way to Athens, and we could not have picked a better hotel for just that.
Some decent bars and restaurants on the doorstep (remembering that Nafpaktos can be a bit on the windy side), and a short walk into the centre (mainly bars which are great for younger people). Not many overseas tourists when we were there, which made it a little more local.
The walk up to the castle from the centre (not for the faint hearted) is well worth the effort (although there is a road). If you manage to reach the cafe near the top (make sure its the one with the pretty garden), there is a view to die for waiting for you as you eat your delicious ice-cream.More
