“A wonderful Summer holiday”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 8, 2013

We stayed in August for 10 nights and had the most wonderful time.

The chalet was spotless, the food was plentiful & beautifully cooked and the all round hospitality was beyond our expectations. We spent long days exploring the area using our multi pass on local buses & ski lifts before retiring to the jacuzzi late each afternoon.

We managed to visit the Belle Dimanche festival in Plaine Dranse, the goat village (twice) & Paul & Helen very kindly dropped us in Evian for the afternoon to take in Lake Geneva, there is so much going on in the local area we could have easily filled another ten days.

If you love the outdoors then this is a wonderful place to relax and refuel, we don't usually go to the same place twice but should we ever return to this area at anytime of year we would not hesitate to stay at Chalet des Arbes.

I came across Mountain Air Holidays by chance when researching Chatel. I had used a very expensive operation twice and was sick overpaying. The week in Chatel was brilliant. The transfer is included in the rate as is having your skis carried back and forth. You get used to being spoiled very fast. Paul and Helen, the owners, are incredibly helpful as is the rest of their crew. We also enjoyed joining them at the Avalanche for a great night out.
Skiing with kids can be stressful and hard work but this team takes a lot of the work away. Nannies were sorted for us, toys provided, lessons booked and guiding by staff was a great day out. I actually got injured one day and was practically carried off the mountain by their guide/driver. Amazing service.
Chatel is a wonderful town and the skiing is second to none.
Chalet des Arbes is so good that I have just booked for 2014 ski holiday and we are being joined by my friends family who is also a return guest.
Hoping for snow as good as last time!!

My husband and I went skiing in March and stayed with Paul and Helen. This was my husbands first time skiing and for both of us we have never stayed in a catered chalet before. Needless to say, we enjoyed it so much that we have booked to go back again in January this time. Everything was perfect from the very warm welcome when we arrived to the very sad moment when we had to say goodbye. We were looked after extremely well - the food was fab, the room was great and Paul & Helen could not have been anymore helpful. We only bought the Chatel skilift pass, but even then we did not manage to cover all the slopes in a week. It was perfect, why go anywhere else?

Room Tip: All the rooms are great, but we love the ensuite overlooking the valley.

We have recently returned from a great family holiday in Chatel staying at Chalet Des Arbres. Paul and Helen looked after us superbly; most appreciated was their advice on local activities and places to visit.
It was wonderful to see the mountains in the summer months and the area around Lake Geneva. We were holidaying with our 3 year old daughter and her grandparents; I am pleased to say there was lots to do to keep everyone entertained. Golf courses were tested out and enjoyed, as was the new water park in Avoriaz, which was great fun. We spent a day at the Montreux jazz festival and an afternoon at one of the many ‘beeches’ that border the lake.
The Chalet was the perfect base for us, a short walk into the town, fantastic views, spotlessly clean and very comfortable.
We ate in at the Chalet a couple of nights during our stay and really enjoyed Helens three course dinners along with the company of the other chalet guests. We were lucky that our visit coincided with the town’s bastille celebrations; it was lovely to walk up to the village with Paul, Helen and the other Chalet guests to watch the spectacular firework display.
I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Mountain Air Holidays to anyone looking for a holiday in the Alps; summer or winter. Great website too!

We had a fantastic stay at the Chalet Des Arbres in July. The chalet has everything you would want: it’s comfortable, clean, large and well-equipped, with a brilliant outdoor hot tub and a balcony overlooking the mountains. There’s also a decent-sized secure lock up for bikes/snowboards etc. Breakfast was lovely and consisted of fresh croissants and bread everyday, plus cereal, fruit, yoghurt etc.

Paul and Helen could not have been more helpful, and have a very thorough knowledge of the local area – so staying with them realllllly makes your stay easier since they can help with directions/shuttle runs/bus timetables/ideas of where to go, etc etc.

As for the location, the chalet is on a quiet road but literally only five minutes from the centre of Chatel, where there are plenty of places to eat, pubs, bars etc. If you’re there for MTBing, it’s about two miles from the main bike park at Pre La Joux. There are free shuttle buses every day, and it’s downhill on the way home anyway so we just cycled back a few times. The bike park there is great, with about ten runs I think ranging from blue-black, and easy access (and amazing views)! down the other side of the mountain, so you can easily get to other villages/bike parks – e.g. you can just ride to the Morzine routes if you want to.

Lots of hiking locally too of course, and loads of other activities nearby and things to do. An ideal place for a summer stay! I wouldn’t hesitate to book with Mountain Air Holidays again, and recommend them very highly.

Just back from fab 6 days B&B.
Good room, good food and really helpful. I was in Chatel for mountain biking and it was a great help to get some local knowledge of lifts, routes, weather etc.

Many thanks to Paul & Helen for a great stay and making me feel really welcome :)

January / March 2013 - It has been my pleasure to stay twice in only 2 months at this delightful chalet. The chalet is beautiful and our hosts wonderful in their attention to making it a relaxing visit. There is nothing that is too much trouble for them to do for you. All this set in a fantastic ski area. The rooms are very attractive and comfortable, the food is excellent. Every detail of the ski holiday is very professionally attended to. Thank you Helen and Paul for making it a wonderful visit..
