“Everyone should experience the chalet frangines at least once in a lifetime”
Reviewed May 20, 2013 for a stay in January 2013

Stayed here with a large group of friends in January 2013. Chalet Frangines is extremely comfortable and the minibus service to and from the slopes was very much appreciated by all. The service from Glen, Frances and the young hosts was outstanding - they even managed to catch a haggis in the Alps for us! We have stayed in numerous chalets over the years but enjoyed this so much that we are booking to return there next year.

“Great place & Great hosts”
Reviewed May 16, 2013 for a stay in March 2011

I’ve now stayed with Glen and Frances on several occasions, solo and in a group, and I've never been disappointed. The Les Frangins chalet is a lovely place with excellent facilities and clean good size rooms. The welcome and hospitality you receive is 2nd to none in my opinion.

Drop off and pick up at/from the ski lifts at in the morning and afternoon is most welcome, and the cake and tea when you return from the slopes just hits the spot. The evening meals are lovely coupled with a good bottle of wine to wash them down. Glen and Frances are also a great help in organising ski passes, ski lessons, and anything else you might need help with.

Chatel itself is a picturesque place to ski and for the more adventurous skier the Portes Du Soleil region which links France and Switzerland is great. Again Glen and Frances’ local knowledge of the slopes is really helpful, and on the odd occasion they get some time are excellent tour guides, which is a great added value to the day’s skiing.

Other added bonuses are the hot tub, sauna, free wi-fi and games rooms, and the Boot heaters means the boots are nice and toastie for first thing in the morning :)

I’ve also stayed at the Aaron, which is also a great chalet and right at the bottom of the Linga Tele-Cabin, and the Linga slope is a great thigh burner to finish the day’s skiing off! Alternatively you can always take the more sedate and leisurely Tele-Cabin down!

I’d highly recommend either Chalet for an excellent week’s ski trip!

“Excellent”
Reviewed April 2, 2013 for a stay in March 2013

I stayed at one of Alpine Quests' chalets in Chatel (Aaron) and had a wonderful holiday. Glen and Frances made me very welcome, the chalet was spacious and very well positioned and the food excellent. You can ski to within 100 yards of the lift, though on the way back it is is about 200 yards. The chalet staff were very friendly and helpful. I have been on chalet holidays for over 20 years and this was one of the best. No complaints or downsides at all!

“Best Ski Chalet Holiday for value for money and excellence service.”
Reviewed March 24, 2013 for a stay in March 2013

Having stayed in many ski chalets i can confidently say Glen and Frances certainly go the extra mile for their guests...ferrying guests to and fro to the pistes, arranging lift passes, helping with special birthday celebrations to name a few. The chalet is very comfortable with hot tub, sauna ,endless supply of hot water and excellent food and wine in generous quantities. The Porte De Soleil ski region provides great skiing for all abilities and you can ski in a different resort each day.Glen gave us some great recommendations for restaurants try on the slopes...all excellent.

“Great chalet holiday”
Reviewed March 13, 2013 for a stay in March 2013

Would highly recommend this chalet. The chalet was comfortable, clean with a spacious sitting room with wonderful views over the valley. The food was well planned with plenty of good drinkable wine. Thanks to Glen and Francis we were taken by mini bus to the ski lifts in the morning and collected in the afternoon, a real bonus!

“Coeur De Bois (Chatel - La Linga)”
Reviewed January 25, 2013 for a stay in January 2013

Beautiful chalet in excellent location to access some great snow in porte du soleil. If you've done Les Gets and Morzine to death, but struggle to get past Avoriaz, this is the perfect base to explore a bit more.

Most skiers can 'ski out' to the nearby main road at the ski lifts but getting back involves a very short walk along the road. Almost, but not quite, ski in/out.

The chalet itself is lovely. An impressive living area adjoins a pleasant dining area. The owners have made an effort, and it pays off. It is modern (but not too modern) and comfortable, as well as having all the requisite gizmos (flatscreen, satellite and MP3 docks in most rooms etc). The games room downstairs was unused by my group but I can see how fab it would be for a family ski set-up.

James and Cathy were our hosts when we were there and they were absolutely great. Great food, very helpful and very nice people.

The yomp into and back out of Chatel is probably a bit much for most, but the free bus leaves from nearby and there are one or two bars and restaurants which will arrange for you to be delivered home after an evening out, believe it or not!

Will definitely consider returning.

“A amazing time with family and friends at Les Frangins”
Reviewed January 22, 2013 for a stay in January 2013

We had a group of 17 friends and children, all had a really really great time, the ambiance was of quality relaxation. The lounge log burner was a fantastic centerpiece for evenings with friends and the local wine. Glen and the staff worked really to ferry us to and from the slopes. Les Frangins is within a pleasant walk of town (not with ski boots). The food was excellent after a long tiring day, they willingly catered for a childrens sitting followed by adults. Unusual for French properties it had a working commercial quality fire alarm and maintained extinguishers, so full marks there, otherwise a safe child friendly place with a fun back garden with slopes for the young at heart to while away a afternoon in the snow. The only recommendation was for there to be a decent quality Bluetooth sound dock for the lounge, really missed not being able to play "our" music off a smart phone, although there was a good selection of DVD and CD's played off the TV speakers. We all valued the wifi , loads of tec connected no problems on the first day. All in all a VERY wonderful holiday we will never forget.. Thanks Glen and Francis.
