“WOW! Thanks for the best holiday!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 4, 2013

Al and his team work so hard to provide you with the best custom holiday experience you can ask for. Nothing is too much trouble and they do it with a big smile on their face.

Chalet Tzigane is beautiful kept, so comfortable, and both rustic and high tech were needed. The Hot Tub - luxury......

Finally onto the food. Beautifully prepared and presented, with gorgeous wine to compliment. I could not have asked more.

Thanks to the team for making my week!

Spent a week at Chalet Tzigane at the end of Jan 2013. From drinking Jagermeister in the hot tub to fantastic food each night, the place could not have been better. Al and Emilie are incredibly friendly and Al took us out twice for some priceless guiding, we wont mention the Apres Ski, but Al makes an effort to participate with his guests.......!
The chalet has everything you need, with games consoles, internet, a superb roaring fire and new boot warmers, I will be back next year for sure.
Cant fault the place at all and be reassured you will have a worry free holiday should you stay here.

Thanks Al & Emilie for one of the best skiholidays we've had.

The chalet was well equipped - spacious rooms, 2 living rooms (one for adults, one for kids with PS & XBOX (games available)), hottub on the terrace, heating rack for your ski shoes, ...

The service provided by Al, his wife Emilie and the 3 people who work for them is superb. We had a little child with us and they provided babysitting services on multiple occasions, even on the day off for the personell (extra charge, but we don't mind paying for extra services rendered). Al is a superb guide, and he took us skiing 2 times - this is very handy if you don't know the domain well since he shows you places you probably wouldn't find on your own.

The food was excellent and very varied. They even made seperate food for our 3 little children (3,5,5 years) since they don't like eating the same as the parents do... :) The breakfast was good, and if you want extra things for breakfast just let them know and they'll try and sort it out for yo on the next day. Wine/Champaign/Sodas included are good, though they should get some Belgian beers in the house :)))...

Thanks for the excellent vacation Al, we might come back one day!

Yet again another fantastic week in Chalet Tzigane. 2 big dumps of snow helped but Al, Emilie and their staff looked after the 10 of us brilliantly. This is the sixth time i've stayed with them and will go again. From sipping wine in the hot tub after a hard days skiing to relaxing in front of a cosy fire after a lovely 3 course meal the chalet has everything you need to completely unwind. Can't wait to go again next year.

We spent a week in Al and Emilies chalet in jan 2013. To sum up, we will definately go back. Having stayed in numerous chalets in the Alps this one has been the best. The combination of hosts, location, price and facilities was spot on....the guided day we had with Al on the Tuesday after the fresh snow fall was the best days riding I've ever had. Cheers guys, definately see you again !

First time staying in a chalet when skiing versus a hotel, it was wonderful. The owners, AL and Emily, are totally focussed on ensuring you have a good time. Would be delighted to go back.
We stayed from 21st to 28th December 2012. 3 families = 6 adults and 6 children (aged 1 to 7 years). 2 families flew to Geneva, and 1 drove from UK. I flew and AL was waiting for us in Geneva airport with a minibus, where he helped us to grab a snack before boarding the minibus. He had even brought 2 kids seats for the little ones. Just over 100 minutes later we were in Chatel, an easy drive around Lake Geneva, into France and then 30 minutes up the mountain.
On arrival the luggage was put in our rooms while we were all served refreshments. A few adults then were driven to the ski school to make the payments (Al and pre booked everything via e*mail with us)
We had 6 bedrooms, adults got large double beds (king size?), and the kids got singles. 5 bathrooms also made it a very comfortable stay. A wonderful living area with British satellite TV, open fire, new computer, iPod dock, and an open bar with wines/beer/soft drinks. In the basement was a second TV room also with satellite and a Wii and PlayStation, perfect for the kids. Free Wi-Fi and phone calls also included. The local supermarket is a 5 minute walk away in case you forgot anything.
Dinner was cooked for us every evening except one when they booked a local restaurant for us, yes they drove us there and back! Kids ate first about 5:30 and adults about 7:30, was wonderful! Food was good and the wine was also very reasonable.
Skis and boots had been pre-ordered and were delivered to the chalet where they checked the fit and adapted as needed. Any issues during the week were immediately fixed. Boot room was nice and warm and everything was perfectly dry the next morning.
You could not ski from the chalet, closest lifts 5 min by car. We were taken 10 minutes up to Pre la jour. This is where the ESI ski school the chalet uses was based. They made sure our skis were in the bus every day and drove us up. We had their GSM numbers and just called when we wanted to be picked up. Skiing was great for all levels; we had beginners (3 year olds) up to ski bum level. The lift system is wonderful in the French part of the Portes du Soleil, with virtually no queues at the lifts.
Every day after a hard days skiing would get back to the Chalet and jump in the hot tub outside with a free beer or glass of wine. On XMAS day even had champagne, simply wonderful. We had 8 folks in at some points and was comfortable.
On the way back to the airport we were going to be early so AL took us down to lake Geneva were we grabbed a mid-afternoon snack.
All in all the perfect chalet. My wife adds that is the perfect set up for working parents who want to ski and have fun with their kids but also need a rest. I was worried about having to get a ride to and from the slopes but this worked out fine. We are definitely considering going back next year if we manage to get a booking.
Andrew & a very happy family 

I can only say that yet again an amazing trip back to Chatel. Ally and Emily thank you for an amazing stay, we loved it. What a laugh. Complimented by fantastic snow. Jarvis and Anna thank you for working so hard for us. The chalet again was clean, the food was good, the wine flowed and the Jacuzzi was warm and bubbly! BRING ON 2014.
Best wishes to you all love HRH Juliax
