“Great place to stay”
Reviewed July 5, 2013

We had a one night stay this past fall and were pleasantly surprised. The rooms were very spacious compared to many. Very clean and bright. We arrived past dinner time and were starving. They let us dine after hours and the meal was fabulous. The steak and duck were delicious and the sides were also great. We relaxed with wine on the patio and had a very enjoyable evening. The next morning we took a short walk into town and were lucky that it was market day with lots of vendors selling their wares. We were trying to get rid of our rental car early and the gentleman at the desk spoke to the agency for us and got it taken care of. Would definitely stay again. Nice facility and beautiful area.

what can we say about this hotel, it is simply the best hotel in provence, all the staff were fantastic, the rooms, the pool, the breakfast, and the evening meal were totally fab. so good that we are returning in october.

Room Tip: our room has its own patio and was facing the pool which is what we preferred

We found this hotel whilst visiting Roussillon - en Provence. We did not have a reservation but were lucky enough to obtain a room for 1 night. Our room was spotless with a small balcony overlooking landscape gardens. The bed was really comfortable and the duvet was just the right tog for the heat, something other hotels failed to do on our trip. The owner was very friendly and helpful. It has a great pool and sunbathing area at the rear of the hotel. Onsite parking is available and is secured after 11pm. Although we did not eat at the hotel the menu seemed varied. We wished we could have stayed longer however the hotel was full on the following day. It was only a 10/15 min walk into Roussilon which is a plus. Very good value for money we would definately go back if in the area, but would book in advance to ensure availability.

This hotel appears as a 2 star on a lot of listings and 3 star on others. And this is where the problem lies, because this delightful hotel punches well above its weight so ignore the official star ratings. Our expectations were well surpassed on our 4 night stay.
The facilities are very good, with well appointed very clean rooms with large baths and a location just 10-15 minutes away from the ochre village of Rousillon. It is in its own very nicely landscaped grounds with a decent swimming pool. The garden lighting is very quirky, with spheres reminding of the old TV series The Prisoner.
We ate 3 nights out of 4 and should have done all four because the food is stylish, beautifully presented, tasty and equal to anything in Rousillon both in cost and quality - they even had an English menu translation and nightly specials. Breakfast buffet was much better than standard French fare with a wide choice and hot items like scrambled eggs. The coffee machine was one of those which grind beans and dispense automatically. The coffee was fine but it does cause a queue as it is quite slow.
The good experience of staying in this hotel is made by the wonderful staff, who are very helpful with nothing too much trouble (even tolerating my dodgy schoolboy French and spending time to help me with my language skills). If you don't speak French, don't worry, the language skills of the staff are excellent.
Negatives - very few but do be aware this area of France attracts biting insects so you will need your citronella if eating outdoors. There is no bar but you can order drinks from the staff to have on the patio or in the lounge.

Room Tip: Some rooms have balconies for littke extra cost

We were made to feel like welcome guests the minute we stepped into this hotel as the owner greeted us. Our room and bath were spotless, modern and nicely furnished. Our room's little balcony overlooked the pool and garden where "moon lights" lit the area as night fell. The location is just outside the old town of Roussillon, about a 15-minute walk. A private parking lot is locked for security at night. While the breakfast selection was a bit disappointing with no fruit except prunes offered, we enjoyed dinner in the hotel restaurant two nights while there. The selection was a bit limited but the food was very good and nicely presented. The owners are delightful hosts who were so helpful with advice on the area and our travels as we left. We found this hotel preferable to the hotels located in the old town with its busy streets and unsecure parking lots. It offered great value for the price too.

Room Tip: If you want to swim in the pool while there you might select a ground floor room with a terrace that...

On a walking holiday in the Luberon we spent 2 nights at the Hotel Les Sables d'Ocre in Rousillon. Apart from the weather which was not brilliant we thoroughly enjoyed our stay - the food was wonderful and all the staff were excellent. The village is quite delightful and well worth a visit. Highly Recommended

We stayed here two nights as part of a pre-booked walking tour and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The room was fine and the staff were very helpful and welcoming. There is a good size pool and the gardens are nicely landscaped and lit atmospherically at night. We had breakfast and dinner included in our package. Breakfast was a good buffet, although proper coffee would have been welcome. Dinner was tasty and substantial with lots of local produce; fresh aubergine, tomatoes, olives etc with good meat and fish. The limited menu would probably mean that more than two nights dinner would not work well.
