“Slack service, pricey food, mean portions, good view from terrace.”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 1, 2012

This is the sort of place that counts the Twigglets that they serve with your drinks. Talk about doing the bare minimum for the customer. I ordered the lamb which was quite nice but it came with just half a tomato and one small re-heated roast potato! This cost 25 euros. For 25 euros I have eaten brilliant set menus. The Comptoir des arts is there for the staff to pose in and to exploit tourists. I would rate it one of the most cold-hearted and cynical places I have ever eaten in in France.
The only good thing to say about it is that the snail's pace service gives you plenty of time to enjoy the view from the terrace. Avoid unless everywhere else is closed and starvation beckons.

“No cards accepted!”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 19, 2012

Hubby and I liked the smart appearance of this restaurant initially but once given the menu to peruse we noticed a bit of paper sellotaped to it informing customers that no banker's cards would be accepted. This caused embarrassment to an American couple who obviously didn't understand French and tried to pay by card. A French couple sat down, received the menu then promptly left on seeing the 'no cards' message. Even small establishments have facilities to pay by card! I feel this should be clearly stated on the menu by the entrance. Having said that, the food was okay, if pricey and I also loved the tres chic loo!

Went one evening about 8pm, restaurant was very quiet and service and food were good. Great views across the countryside.

“We had an excellent lunch!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 6, 2012

We had a lovely lunch at this restaurant and would recommend it. The staff were pleasant and welcoming and very good service. The food was excellent. I had cod which was wonderfully prepared and one of the best meals we had in two weeks in France. My husband had the salad nicoise which he enjoyed. The ingredients were fresh, good quality and nicely presented. The restaurant was clean and the bathroom beautifully renovated and very clean (loved the sink). I sat on the bench side of the restaurant which was really comfortable. The artwork really added to the ambiance. Should we return to Roussillon, we’d definitely return to this restaurant.

“honestly....highway robbery!”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 12, 2011

Have been all over southern France and reviewed all previous restaurants very highly. This one - positively the worst experience - overpriced for poor quality of food - service mediocre. And, furthermore, none 67 euros for a meal that was worth no more than 30 euros at best. Wine list overpriced, food was simply not up to any standards that we have seen across southern France. The decor and atmosphere left much to be desired. Would NOT recommend this place at all. Hopefully we'll find a better alternative in the days to come.
