Enjoyable hike through the former ochre quarries - even on a warm summer day. We did the 2.5 euro tour since did not plan on going to the Ochre Conservatory. A reasonably well curated tour with interpretive signage explaining the history and uses of ochre. About a 45 to 60 minute hike on the longer circuit through a world of sculpted spires, cliffs and ridges.Appeared to have all the variant hues of ochre from brown to red orange to yellow. Also try to view the cliffs Mont Rouge and Rue de La Poste. Good photo ops from Rue de La Postre. Good photo ops of the village from the area just outside the entrance to Le Sentier.
This is a memorable attraction!!!
Walk the village. After all it is a beaux village
Parking could be an issue. We ended up in the parking lot north of town called St. Michel. It is a hike up a steep roadway just to get back into town.
