“Best food in town”
Reviewed June 9, 2012

The food was of the VERY best quality but the wine was a bit pricey. Excellent service and great choice. Made to feel really welcome in a casual dining atmosphere with 1st Class cuisine

“Great for lunch”
Reviewed April 23, 2012

Popped in for lunch without a reservation and although they were busy this was not a problem and we were seated immediately. Service was very good (although zero English). Good choice of menus, including a board displaying "specials". We ate à la carte and the food was generally well cooked, albeit one meat dish had to be returned as the centre was uncooked - actually ice cold! This hiccup was dealt with without fuss and we enjoyed the remainder of the meal. We will certainly use this place again.

“Chef's indecision!”
Reviewed March 28, 2012

This was a lovely idea where you let the chef choose what he serves and have no idea what it wil be till it arrives at the table. We were'nt dissapointed.

“Good hotel restaurant in central location”
Reviewed March 17, 2012

Pleasant diing room, interesting menu and well prepared and cooked food. Best point ( for members of The Wine Society ) is that you can take wine bought at their shop in an adjoining building in for a meal without any corkage....they will even chill it for you. Now theres a pleasant surprise!!

“I hit the jackpot - but choose from the menu with care.”
Reviewed March 12, 2012

I had the onion soup, steak and tarte tartin, all of which were superb.
My wife and our friends were not as delighted with their choices of mains (fish and pork) so I clearly hit the jackpot with my choices!
We all thoroughly enjoyed the wines which were recommended by our waitress, whom we found to be delightful throughout. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble and she gave us detailed explanations of all of the items on the menu in response to our questions.
I would love to go again, but suspect I would be reluctant to choose elsewhere on the menu.
