Although I had researched this hotel on Trip Advisor before booking it, I had no idea how lovely it actually was until we actually arrived. What a great surprise! Our bedroom was on the second floor, overlooking the front walled gardens (which are very pretty and well tended). There is no lift but I was warned about this at the time of booking and we didn't find it an issue while we were there. Both bedroom and bathroom were very spacious and the bedroom especially was beautifully decorated. Internet is free and worked efficiently which isn't always the case in some hotels (depending on their location/age etc). There is private parking some metres from the hotel which has a locked gate at night (cost 12 euros per night). At the back of the hotel there is a small but prettily laid out swimming pool area and an attractive patio area with gazeebos where you can also have drinks. The grounds of the hotel aren't large but full of beautiful, well cared for plants and little pathways. The location of the hotel is within the old ramparts and tucked away in a quiet road but within very easy walking distance to all the lively restaurants and market square of the town. The staff were good too so we will definitely be returning next year.

A lovely place to stay for the first night of our road trip through France and Spain. The food was expensive but excellent. The room was very comfortable, with fantastic decorations and a beautiful, large bathroom. Would recommend. The only downsides are mostly outside their control....the menu is limited to expensive fixed, gastronomic options; we were unfortunate to have English people staying who got very drunk and loud until 3am; the weather was awful!

So loved this place! We stayed in one of the cottages just outside the main building. It was really a small house rather than a cottage with a fantastic mezzanine bedroom and ample living space including a wonderful jacuzzi bath. My husband adored the electric shutters that closed at the touch of a button! The grounds are immaculate and so beautiful. The chateau itself looks almost like it shouldn't be there as there are no long drives or anything, its just behind a wall. The food was to die for and all the staff provided wonderful, discreet service. We had the chef's surprise 7 course dinner which was top notch. The village around the chateau is really, really nice and quintessentially French with nice cafes and bakeries. We found the local people very friendly and the whole atmosphere was so relaxing. All this comes at a cost though, and it certainly was not cheap. However I must say that I do NOT think it was bad value for money as it really is luxurious.

Room Tip: The cottages are fantastic with a lot of space

One of the best hotels that we have ever stayed at. The restaurant rather too formal for our taste and pricey. The hotel itself is tucked away at the edge of town adjacent to beautiful countryside. It is well worth a walk along the nearby ramparts. Gentile and friendly.

Room Tip: We stayed in one of their 'cottages' which have a small living room, wc, bathroom and bedroom upstairs - all very appointed and unique in my experience.
