“Relaxing week and everything you could need in a gite!”
Reviewed September 10, 2014 for a stay in August 2014

Don't bypass this area via the motorway, it has so much to offer - great beaches at Hardelot, Wissant and le Touquet and interesting places to visit - Boulogne, la Coupole, montreuil etc. 15 mins walk to chocolate factory, 10 mins drive to leclerc supermarket. Having said all that about the area - the gite has everything you could ever need and more - even surf boards and nets for the beach. The shared washing machine and tumble dryer was a bonus too.Wifi was a godsend both for the kids and checking out places to visit. Jaz and Mia loved meeting up with the other kids in the games room and outside at the end of a busy day to chat and chill. Great friends were made, Jack, Lillie, heather and Daniel the owners son. They even had a leaving party on the last night and I'm sure they will all keep in touch! Laurence and Helen have thought of everything and more with the gites, they deserve every success in the future with all the hard work and time they put in.

“An English Oasis in France.”
Reviewed September 1, 2014 for a stay in August 2014

Laurence and Helen are the perfect hosts, they are full of information on this beautiful part of France. The Gites are lovely and comfortable and have lots of extras you don't normally get when renting a property abroad. The games room is a fun place to keep the kids occupied in the late evenings. The outside area is for all ages and you can sit and supervise young children while they use the play equipment. The Gites are set back from a quiet country lane in a lovely village. The Pizza Van that visits the village on a Tuesday evening serves excellent food ( a real hit with the kids ). The surrounding area is full of things to do and has easy access as well as ample parking wherever you visit. Le Touqet was one of our favourites, beautiful tree lined streets full of flowers filled grass verges and a nice beach. Berck is a more traditional seaside resort with some nice shops too and a local market set in the side streets once a week. The Chateau Museum at Boulogne is well worth a visit ( 10 Euros for 2 adults, 2 teenagers and an 8 year old ), as well as the Cathedral close by to it with its beautiful dome. There are lovely restaurants close by to the Cathedral and a beautiful garden in the square. Auchen Hypermarket is a better option than Cite d'Europe, Montreuil (Les Miserables) is worth the visit and has some historic buildings and lovely streets. There really is a lot to see and do in this part of France and Laurence and Helen will give you good sound advice and always point you in the right direction. An up to date sat nav will ensure you have no problems when getting to and from the lovely surroundings on offer here. A big thank you from all of us for a lovely stay with two of the nicest hosts we have ever met. We can highly recommend what they offer for people of all ages seeking a lovely holiday in a beautiful part of the world.

“Home from home”
Reviewed August 16, 2014 for a stay in August 2014

Clubhouse gites is a lovely place to stay. The owners Helen and Laurence and their son Daniel are a lovely family who go out of their way to make you feel welcome and attend to your every need. Nothing is too much trouble. The gites are well equipped and clean and a welcome pack of wine, chocolates, tea, coffee and milk is waiting for you which is a lovely welcome. The games room and garden are great for the children and teenagers alike. They have a pool table, table tennis, swing ball, a duke box and lots of family board games. The beds are really comfy and the location of the gites are quite central to lots of places. There is a welcome folder with lots of information about local events and markets and lots of leaflets and suggestions for things to do in the area. There is even a laundry room which is a godsend. Would highly recommend clubhouse gites for all ages, couples, individuals and families. This is our second stay and we shall be back again in the future.

“Rural France close to Calais”
Reviewed April 26, 2014 for a stay in April 2014

Having reviewed this Gite in 2012, there is nothing to change our positive views. The owners are an authority on all attractions near and far. Attractive rooms at a competitive price. Free games room for smaller guests and swings etc outdoors. Even offered to taxi us both ways to our choice of Restaurant about a mile away. With the expected increase in visitors to France due to anniversary of the Great War; they deserve every success and our thanks-Martin; Maria; Nicky & David.

“Brilliant holiday”
Reviewed March 18, 2014 for a stay in March 2014

Exceeded all expectations. Perfectly positioned in a sleepy French village, 15 mins from Montreuil, 25 mins from Le Touquet. We spent a wonderful week oscillating between the two. Ideal for a family break and only 45 minutes from the Tunnel.

Helen and Laurence were very welcoming and excellent to deal with. The accommodation is clean and comfortable and extremely well equipped (including Sky TV and a wealth of kitchen equipment). The welcome pack was also excellent (including toilet rolls, kitchen towel, tea, coffee, milk, wine and chocolate).

Games room downstairs is comprehensive (pool, table football, games, toys, books) and the outdoor space is perfect for kids.

The local (massive) Leclerc is about 15 minutes away in Attin; we found an excellent boulangerie close by also in Attin (there's another boulangerie in Montcavrel).

We enjoyed good meals at Atelier 26 in Montreuil, Les Sables in Hardelot, Le Zinc in Le Touquet but our favourite was probably L'auberge d'Inxent, which was really excellent.

Easy trips to St Valery, Azincourt, Crecy, the cemeteries of the Somme and Nausicaa aquarium in Boulogne.

Overall, excellent value for money and highly recommended.

“Great place to stay with lots of facilities and entertainment”
Reviewed September 21, 2013 for a stay in July 2013

Really well stocked apartments for families with children's cutlery, crockery etc and highchair/cot already there. Welcoming touches like the bottle of wine and tea/coffee/milk were lovely. There was lots of outside space for our young children (age 1, 4 and 6) and play equipment outside (rackets, balls, football net, swing) and in (pool table, board games, cbeebies on TV etc.).
The village was very quiet - we loved the weekly pizza van and could have tried the village bar if we'd been childfree- with the nearest shop or bakery a short car ride away.
Wifi was available in the shared play areas although it didn't stretch to our apartment.
We would have preferred a small fence round the garden or perhaps gates to the property from the road although its hedged in on three sides and the other side is against the car parking area rather than the road. Otherwise it would have been four stars!

“Lovely Gite in a brilliant location - Ideal for young families”

We have just returned from our first visit to Clubhouse Gites and I’m almost certain it won’t be our last.

Traveling from Shropshire, we wanted to stay somewhere that would provide us with enough things to do to entertain our very active son who is very nearly 2 but also somewhere not too far from Calais.

Clubhouse Gites are located in the quiet village of Beussent around 50 minutes from Calais. The Gites have everything you need already provided such as tea, coffee, sugar, bedding, towels, dishwasher tablets, a laundry room with washing machine, tumble dryer and detergent etc, and even a pint of milk in the fridge & a bottle of wine. This was a real help as it meant we had a more comfortable journey without having to pack the car to the brim and could have a nice cup of tea as soon as we arrived whilst we found our bearings and before we had to venture to the supermarket.

The owners, Helen & Laurence who live onsite were very friendly and welcoming. There are 3 Gites plus a games room with pool table, table football, juke box, seating, loads or boards games & books etc and even toys suitable for our toddler!

Outside the large garden was brilliant and our son loved playing in it, each day we returned he couldn’t wait to explore outside. There were swings & slides and a climbing frame, footballs and a goal, swing ball, table tennis, and a badminton net plus numerous garden toys.

The area of Nord Pas De Calais has so much to offer and was perfect for us as a family. It’s somewhere lots of people pass through when traveling elsewhere in France without really giving it the chance it deserves.

I had done lots of research before we visited on places to visit so we had a rough idea of what we wanted to do but the owners provide each Gite with an extensive collection of leaflets and a folder with details of places to visit, rainy day activities, local markets, directions to the nearest Supermarket, bakeries etc and so much more.

Within an hour of Gites there is so much to do, we visited the coast and explored Berck Sur Mer, Stella Plage, Le Touquet, Boulogne Sur Mer and Wimereux, Inland we visited Maintenay and had a lovely crepe looking over the old water mill, we spent a day at Dennly’s Theme Park which our son loved and was excellent value and we spent some time in Montreuil which is only around 15 minutes from the Gite. It was a charming town and we again enjoyed a lovely crepe looking over the main square. We also ventured into Picardie to Le Crotoy and took a ride on the Chemin de Fer steam train to St Valery Sur Somme, again a lovely trip our son really enjoyed. Even in Beussent itself there is an old mill which we visited several times to feed the family of ducks.

I know the above doesn’t really relate to Clubhouse Gites but I just wanted to show what a fantastic base it provides and I would thoroughly recommend it to families with small children.
