Three Canadian males came to do the Altriman triathlon in Les Angles, and needed a chalet to spend some time in. This chalet was perfect for us: it is just 5 minutes walk from the centre of Les Angles, where one can buy essentials and there are quite a few restaurants to choose from. It is as close as one can stay to the race site - which is very important to all of us, especially the support crew.
There was a garage at the entrance in which we could store our bikes and other gear. On the first floor there were two bed rooms - one for my wife and I and the other was used by a friend and his daughter. There is also a large living room with seating for at least 8, and a large dinner table, again with seating for 8. The kitchen was also a good size, and we made good use of it. There is a toilet and shower on this floor, and a huge veranda which has an excellent view of Lake Matermale where our race began.
My other friend and his two daughters shared the upper floor - -which had a large bedroom and a smaller one, as well as a toilet/shower and laundry facilities. It was nice that they had their privacy if they needed it.
This is the third time that I have been to Les Angles to do the race, and this chalet was by far the best. It was more of a nice clean appartment that could be used for skiing and/or other pursuits rather than a ski-chalet which you would not use for anything else.
I would not hesitate to use this chalet again - although I do not think that I will do the race again, but perhaps I will come to ski.
My wife and the girls took a ski lift up the mountain and then walked down during the race day. and also visited Formigueres. There are other pretty villages to visit nearby too.
All dealing with the owner were pleasant and efficient, and it was very convenient for us that we could leave the key in a coded-box outside the property.
