“Great hotel, not so great location.”
Reviewed April 30, 2012

We booked this hotel as a package with a flight. I'd been to Paris twice before and stayed more central so knew that we were going to be a bit far out this time!
The room was good, the building very new so the room was modern and fresh. Facilities were great, our own kitchen was helpful in keeping costs down for breakfast. Staff were friendly and very helpful too. If we'd have wanted our room cleaned we would have had to pay extra but we were only staying a few nights so its wasn't too much of a problem. There is a nice bar and a bakery opposite which was good for hanging around the area but not much else.
The only issue with this hotel was that is was far away! Taxi drivers didn't know where it was because the postcode is so new. In heinsight, paying a bit more for a hotel near a Metro station would have worked out the same as the extra cost in RER tickets and taxi fares. If this hotel was close to a Metro station I'd definitely stay there again as the hotel itself was lovely. However next time i'm in Paris i'll look for something a bit more central.
so a great hotel, but not so great a location!

When we first arrived at the hotel, we thought it was great. On the second night we had no hot water, after getting soaked that day, we just wanted a bath more than anything. After phoning down to reception we were told to try again in 40 minutes, which we did and still had no hot water. The next morning, we did have hot water but then had none, again, at night time. This time we went down to the reception and explained and the receptionist said there is a dial to turn and he would send someone up to show us. After waiting an hour, we phoned down to find out what was going on and apparently they were sending someone up tomorrow. We explained that we wanted a bath that night, after getting soaked again during the day. The reception then phoned back saying they would move us room. We packed, went into reception and they showed us our new room. Not only was there still no hot water, the room was a mess. The bathroom was dirty, the bath had no plug, and there was a fork down then sink! The room was smaller in general and instead of a bed like what we had in the old room, it was a pull out sofa. The lights were hanging off the walls and the light switches had no covers. There were also still dirty dishes in the dishwasher. There was also no safe in this room which meant the next day we had to carry our passports around with us. We then asked to be moved back to our old room considering there was no hot water anyway but we were told no, that wouldn't be possible! We were very disappointed in this hotel. There is also nothing around the hotel, so we had very little to do at night. The area wasn't very friendly. The only good thing about the hotel was that it was right next to the metro.

This is a good budget studio/hotel, located outside city center, but only 2 min walk away from the railway station. A train/metro (RER C) will bring you in the city centre in 20 minutes.
We stayed here with our two sons during the Easter holidays for two nights. The hotel was built only some years ago, everything looks really clean and new. The rooms have everything you would expect from a hotel in this price range.
There is only one caveat: don't take the breakfast! First of all the breakfast room is much too small to welcome all guests, but what was most disappointing was that when we came in the restaurant (at 8:30) there were no more plates and spoons, and cheese and ham was finished. A lot of people were complaining, but staff was really disrespectful, laughing at people and definitely not willing to help. Breakfast is at 9,50 euro, I would recommend to have breakfast at the bakery right opposite the hotel.

My family and I (2 adults and 2 children) spent 6 nights in this apartment in March. Reservation was made about a year ago, and I managed to booked at a very cheap price, approximately EUR80 / night. The standard rate is about EUR140 / night.

Location:

This apartment is located in Zone 3, very near to Les Grésillons‎ (RER C) train station. About 3 to 5 minutes walk. Traveling to Paris city center is very convenient. Eiffel Tower and Notre Dame are located along the same path of RER C.

There was a bakery opposite the hotel. The sandwich and panini were simply delicious. We had our lunch packed everyday before we traveled into the city center.

There was grocery store next to the bakery. They sell basically everything from toothbrush to chocolate, wines to meat. The staff was very friendly.

Check-in:

Check in was hassle free. Although I did prepared to speak a few phrases of French, the receptionist spoke very good English. There was a bowl of candies on the reception desk and my children loves those candies very much. The staff were friendly.

Room:

The apartment has a double bed and a sofa bed. So four of us could sleep comfortably. This apartment is quite fully furnished. It has an electrical stoves, dishwasher, microwave oven, pan, pot, plates, cutlery, glasses etc. So we had managed to cook dinner and supper for a few nights without problem.

The room was clean. Wifi was available, with speed varied from 500kbps to 1Mbps. Our room had a balcony facing the garden.

Breakfast:

The hotel doesn't have a formal restaurant, so they don't serve lunch and dinner. However there was a small dining room where breakfast was served daily. The breakfast was simple, and remained the same throughout my stay.

Coffee (single cup coffee machine)
Orange Juice
Apple Juice
Milk (cold and hot)
Ham
Hard boil egg
Bread (slice)
Croissant
Baguette
Yogurt
Corn flakes

Above are the positives... now the negatives:

Since this is an apartment, my room was not make up throughout my six nights of stay. Although bath towers and face towers were provided, those didn't get changed. There were 2 small packs of instant coffee and tea, few packs of sugar, salt and pepper, which didn't get replenished. Even the soap and shampoo didn't get refilled even I had made few request. Room make up is chargeable, as stated in a poster at the lobby.

I'm OK if they want to cut cost by not making up the room. But not refilling the soap and shampoo simply doesn't make sense. Two small bottles of shampoo were simply not enough for 4 person for 6 nights.

Conclusion:

Overall I'm OK with this apartment hotel and I would stay here again if I ever travel to Paris on budget. 20 minutes train ride to center of Paris may be a little waste of time... but with the price I paid, it's worth such hassle.

If you are looking for a reasonably priced hotel in the Paris area that offers a clean, quiet room, this is the place. However, do some planning on how to get to this hotel. As mentioned many times in reviews of this hotel, taxi drivers do not know where this place is located and there is no Metro stop nearby.

My family and I arrived from Charles DeGaulle airport. To get to the hotel, follow the signs in the airport terminal to "trains to Paris". Buy your one day ticket and get on the RER 2 train (it begins here). Change trains at Charles DeGaulle - Etoile stop, to train RER C in the direction of Pontiose. Get off at stop Les Gresillons. Exit the station, cross the street, turn left. Pass bus stop and turn right; walk to end of street. Turn right, follow the curve left. The hotel is at the next intersection on your left. If you have a lot of bags, this can be a challenge. But if you are in shape, it is no problem.

Porter 44's review is spot on. Also know, you have a daily allowance of hot water. My wife and I took showers in the morning and left on a day of sightseeing. Upon our return we told our kids to take a shower. The water was ice cold. I went down to reception and was kindly informed that the hot water heater would come on at 5 AM and we'd have hot water in the morning. They were right!

The hotel room had a cooktop and microwave along with all utensils, dishes, glasses, etc... There is also a tiny dish washer. A sign informs you dishwashing is not covered in the daily rate and you must do it yourself. The only drawback is, after preparing a meal, there is no table to eat on.

Also know that the RER C train station you will be using daily, Les Gresillons, has a very helpful ticket window. The lady who helped us spoke excellent english and helped us with our daily itinerary. She did not, however, inform us the ticket window is closed on the weekend. The train station was open and entry to the platforms did not require a ticket to enter. We got on the train without a ticket to go to Charles DeGaulle - Etoile to buy daily passes, hoping a busy depot would have a ticket window open. After exiting the trains there were several unplesant, nasty Paris women wanting to see everyones ticket. We got busted and were informed we would have to pay a fine of 40 euros each (120 euros = 160 USD). I refused and argued with them for 5 minutes or so. They lowered the fine to 80 euros that I payed.

If I could do it all again, I'd probably spend the extra money to stay in Paris center, but I completely recomend this hotel to anyone!

Three friends and I stayed here a few weeks ago. We took a taxi from the airport and were informed after the meter had gone up to 25 Euros the driver had no idea where he was going. Make sure you take a map, a contact number and the name of the nearest train station (Les Gresillons).
Receptionist was friendly and informative and answered all the questions we needed to know. We had a bit of trouble with our room at first as were booked into one double room for the four of us. However this was quickly sorted out and we were moved to a very nice, spacious, suite. Two large rooms, double bed, double sofa bed, en suite and small kitchen area. We also had a balcony. A view of the train tracks but still wasn’t too bad. Hardly saw anyone else staying within the hotel, very quiet. Rooms are very clean but will not be cleaned during your stay.
We didn’t have breakfast in the hotel but there is a brilliant bakery opposite. Fairly cheap. Definitely recommend. Also just behind the bakery is a supermarket where you’ll find everything you need.
The train station is very easy to get to and takes you straight into the centre of Paris. If staying for a few days would definitely recommend getting one of the travel cards.
When travelling late at night back to the hotel, make sure the taxi driver knows where he is going before he starts his meter.
Overall a pleasant stay. Perfect for a few days. Just a bit of effort having to catch public transport into Paris every day. However we did enjoy the double decker trains!

Room Tip: Ask for the room with balcony.
