“A little slice of heaven!”
Reviewed October 3, 2016 for a stay in September 2016

What an amazing stay we had in this gorgeous spot! This is my third time here and each time it blows me away! The surroundings are stunning and the house is absolutely gorgeous! Karen's caters for all kinds of interests and she has really captured the essence of a French country cottage! Highly recommended, we will be back!

“Home away from home”
Reviewed May 19, 2015 for a stay in April 2015

What a delightful little (or rather large, actually) cottage! We were very comfortable in this lovely 3 bedroom cottage, which featured all the desired amenities. (after 2 weeks of travelling the washing machine and dryer were extremely appreciated!) The rooms were comfortable, beds very sleep inducing and everything was clean, neat and tidy. I loved seeing some quirky South African art on the walls! Karen has made sure there is lots of info about the area, and she even helped us with some insider tips over do's and don'ts. We thoroughly enjoyed exploring the area, and loved the 'home' experience, as opposed to a sterile hotel.

We had the most wonderful holiday of a lifetime, staying a month in Les Chouettes. The house, village and area offers everything you need for quiet relaxing pool days or busy exploring days. We cycled, canoed, walked, picnicked, swam and relaxed lots! The house is exceptionally comfortable and is very easy to live in. The pool is wonderful and we were able to eat outside every night bar two, despite having some wet weather. Karen was an absolute pleasure to communicate with and went out of her way to ensure we were having a lovely holiday. Simon, the property manager, was on hand locally if needed and kept the pool wonderfully clean. We were joined for a week by Grandparents who said this was their most favourite part of France. It was lovely to walk to Tremolat to eat on a few occasions too. The pizzeria and Bistro were great but the evening we had at the Vieux Logis was truly memorable. We enjoyed our stay at Les Chouettes and if you get the opportunity to stay here, take it with both hands - it's wonderful! Thank you Karen for letting us borrow your house for a month!

We stayed for 1 month in April/May and it was terrific. Location is handy to so many great places to go and the train is just an 8 minute walk away. The little village of Tremolat is charming with lovely local people and the restaurants we tried were good.
The house worked so well for us with up to 8 people staying though we were 6 most of the time. - very comfortable beds, nearly everything you would need was there. The space with 2 living areas worked well when we had kids around.. The table tennis in the barn was great fun. All in all a great place.

Thank you for your lovely review. We are glad that the house worked for you, especially as you had such a mixed group of people all under one roof. Thank you for taking good care of our precious villa, and for watering all our plants, they are thriving beautifully

There are only fabulous things to say about this French decorated luxury cottage. From the moment you enter the small village of Tremolat, the stresses of city life are instantly forgotten. The cottage has everything you need for a very comfortable, relaxing stay. I tried my hand at some French cooking in the kitchen, while my husband relaxed next to the indoor fireplace. The home is kitted with all the necessary comforts we needed during our stay in the chilly autumn. The surrounding areas are breathtaking and there is just so much to do. We explored castles, markets, beautiful winding roads and daily bike rides to the patisserie of course . The heaters throughout the cottage kept us cozy, and in the summer you can make use of the swimming pool and sun loungers. We loved every minute of our stay and cannot wait to return! (Oh, and if you eventually decide to make contact with the outside world, there is excellent wifi too.)
