The hotel could really be a lot better given its excellent location on the banks of the Danube.

Our room was ok and yet again we had the balcony room. It was ok, but could have been cleaner and certainly the balcony needed a good clean

Wifi in the hotel was only available in the lobby and even then if you sat in the right place.

Breakfast was ok, but there was limited choice and the tables weren't cleared very well after the previous guests had sat at the same table.

What was really disappointing was that the day we checked out after a 5 day stay we were told that the card machine wasn't working so we had to go to the cash machine and get out €500, which we had in our account, but were expecting to pay for the hotel by credit card. This was the second time this had happened to us at this hotel as we have stayed there before whilst staying in Tulln.

If the hotel has a problem with credit cards from foreign tourists they should state this in advance or maybe we have just been unlucky

It is a shame that this hotel isn't better especially given the location and the work that the people of Tulln have done to make the town a destination town to encourage more tourists. Tulln itself is in a great location, 20 minutes by train from Vienna and a place I have visited many times for various reasons.

I doubt that I would visit the Nibelungenhof again. Other hotels in the town deserve my business

Located behind the levy on the banks of the Danube, so near the Danube but you can't actually see the river from the hotel.
The staff were very mixed. One young man who was probably the rudest person we have ever encountered in a hotel, but in the morning two delightful waitresses at breakfast.
Room was rather dated with no shower screen or curtain so when you showered the floor became soaking wet.
Cleanliness poor and we had to ask for some bits of the room to be cleaned.
The worst hotel in our view during our one month holiday in Europe.

The hotel is located right next to the Danube, a short distance before the railway bridge.

Our room was a good size, possibly the largest of the various places we stayed on our Danube cycling. Strangely the bathroom was quite small with a kidney shaped bath with shower head, and a toilet squeezed into one corner. Like most Austrian hotels of this scale a double room was really just a twin with the beds pushed together, only in this case they had not bothered to put anything in place to stop the beds moving apart.

Breakfast was below par, with only a limited buffet range of breads, cereals and cheese/salami.

During our stay in Tulln we found the city to be plagued by Mosquitos. These were everywhere and it paid dividends to have insect repellant liberally applied. My wife said that the hotel was very clean, but nonetheless our night sleep was disturbed by Mosquitos.

I have experience with double-room (others were full) so there was a lot of space for one person. Everything was OK, only the heavy curtains weren't suitable for the heating, they covered it completely. The breakfast offer was slightly above standard I think.

There were problems with booking and check-in: the stay details of me and my colleagues were recorded incorrectly and although the staff wanted to know the time of our arrival, there was no-one when we arrived (approx. 1:00 p.m.). Then we tried it again in the evening and it was OK:)
