Situated right next door to the gondola which takes you up the mountain and ski school for the children it is just perfectly situated.

The Ski/Snowboard and boot storage room is rather small and we did struggle to get 2 sets of ski's and a snowboard into our allocated room space.

Booking in was easy but I did feel that their was a slight language barrier. The bedroom was massive and we had a seating area aswell as our bed area and a single bed for our younger son. The storage for clothing was excellent with huge wardrobes and plenty of shelves and drawers for clothes. The bedroom had a large bathroom with a bath and shower over the bath. This room was easily accessible for our son who has hemi-plegia cerebral palsy, severe visual impairment, learning, developmental and behavioural delay. Close to the lift and stairs.

We were half-board and we most definately were not disappointed. You were allocated your table on your first visit to the restaurant and this would be your table for the whole stay. A large selection of continental foods aswell as a hot bar which alternated between bacon or sausages aswell as scrambled egg and a couple of other dishes. Fresh eggs were on the side should you like boiled egg for breakfast.

Evening Meal was a four course dinner with a choice of two meat and 1 vegetarian dish for your main meal, which you could choose from a small or large portion. If you don't eat lots I would definately recommend the small portion, for all that they say that it is small it is a small portion it most definately is adequate. The large portions are in my opinion massive and not for the faint hearted.

Drinks prices are reasonable enough. My only dislike is the fact that their is still smoking inside the hotel. Being a non-smoker I disagree with this and it could be over whelming on occassions.

The hotel does have a swimming pool but it was extremely cold and not the relaxing chill out I was hoping for after my day on the slopes.

The hotel offers a service of having a massage in your own room for the price of 60 Euros which on your last night is worth every penny.

All the staff were very polite and approachable and every day we came back to an immaculately clean bedroom and fresh towels.

You do need to bring your own entertainment for your children as their wasn't anything suitable for children.

Room Tip: We were on the second floor right above the entrance. Lovely view across the valley.

We arrived to fresh falling snow, the start of a very pleasant week. A friendly welcome and we were in our room, Though the lift was rather cramped, two people and luggage was about it. The room was clean and more spacious than we had been expecting, with settee and easy chair and occasional table. Exceprional view over the nursery slope to the village,
Breakfast were taken from buffet with amble choice, Dinner again from buffet with main course being served from a choice of 3 courses. Good choices always available from salad and sweet buffet. The internal bar is very pleasant for quiet evenings in, but we found sometimes you have to find a member of staff if you need a drink.
There is a ski hire shop attached to the hotelwith very friendly helpfull staff, so no need to walk miles to get kitted out.Being sited right next to the gondola made the early morning fairly easy, though it can get busy at peak times the queue is less than a lot of other resorts.
My only slight moan is the boot room (accessed from the hotel reception) is hardly big enough for more than 3 people at a time, with steel ski racks which can be a safety hazard.
All in all an hotel I would happily return to, I notice some guests have complained of the noise from an near by bar, but although we heard it most nights it did not detract in anyway and not into the early hours as in some resorts.

Being so close to the gondola lift, and with ski-hire/tuition directly accessible from the hotel, this is a very good choice for those who appreciate convenience. Lovely staff, food as you would expect for a 3-star, ample (in fact for smaller appetites the option to choose half-portions is a brainwave), and perfectly palatable, although without the oomph of 4-star cuisine. Afternoon tea not particularly inspiring. Rooms rather typical of alpine hotels, i.e. so warm you need to turn radiator off and usually open the window to avoid waking with a dried-out tongue. Lounge and bar rather quiet, could do with more atmosphere. Pleasantly surprised to find very little smoking going on, but that could have been a question of timing. The round bar outside was cheerful, and music loud within but was not heard from inside the hotel (our room was at the back, but didn't hear music from public rooms at front of hotel).

Room Tip: view of some of home run from rooms at the back.

Wife and I stayed for a week on the 5th Jan 2013. Great hotel, good location and food was exellent, anyone who complains about the food here are just picky. The room was warm and comfartable and was cleaned and changed every morning, all the staff were pleasant and helpful. The only downside which is not the fault of the hotel but the fault of the Austrian Government is the SMOKING PROBLEM. They do not have a smoking ban in Austria and it really does ruin it for non smokers. However as I said, not the Hotels fault. We will go back to the Hubertus and hopefully next time Rauris will be smoke free.

Room Tip: If you are a non smoker ask for a room away fom the lift and stairs.

My wife and I went to Rauris for Christmas it was the first proper week the resort had been open to foreign guests.

we had great snow and really enjoyed ourselves. We did experience a white out which was quite scary but other than that all good.

the hotel - small seems to family run affair --

good boot room and being right next to the lift and at the end of the black run was amazing. though to ski in you did have to ski the black run which was tricky with the conditions.

the food was well presented and arrived soon after you sat down. the table planning was quite anal in that you had to sit at one table all the week and was not allowed to move around which meant that you sat next to the same people all week.

the hotel was mainly occupied by only german speakers and with my polish wife i was the only english native speaker in the hotel.

as we were the only guests in the herbutus the reps didn't bother coming to see us as we saw them on the social skiing etc.

the only down side to the hotel: the smoking. they still allow smoking indoors so while the restaurant as smoke free as was our room (217) the bar wasn't which meant that the smoke from the bar travelled up the stairs and could be smelt on all floors - one night we even put a used t-shirt as a draught stopper to stop the smoke coming in.

the apres -ski umbrella bar outside is not as noisy as it is made out on the other reviews. it is however the best place in the world to breathe in cigarette smoke. it is rank in there, a great bar spoilt by the smoke. our room's (217) balcony virtually overhung the bar and we had no issues sleeping.

the spa - i didn't realise in Austria the ladies and gents let it all hang out...

drinks lady in the restaurant was quite officious at times...

Room Tip: try to get away from the stairs and lift due to smoke travelling.

I stayed with a couple of friends here for one week in Jan 2013.
In big lines the hotel is OK, clean, good food etc., with one HUGE exception: HEATING.

From the first night I woke up because of the cold at 4 AM, put another sweater on and the second blanket (thank God there were 2 in my single room). During the day is OK (as in chilly / just on the point of cold), but at night it gets cold and you wake up with a headache.

The manager responds "no, there are 21 degrees" by default to everybody raising the issue (and there were plenty), and comes with the thermometer to show you that you are wrong/crazy to raise such a problem.

No possible way of turning the heating up or giving you an electrical heater, no empathy whatsoever. They either have an issue with the general heating system or (most probable) are just PLAIN GREEDY. I stayed in very nice, similar Austrian 3* hotels, in premium ski areas like Zillertal, for 70% of what I pay here, and the heating was perfect.

I nor recommend or will come again to this place. Steer clear during the winter!

Room Tip: choose a room at another hotel.

The location of the hotel is convenient because it is next to the lift.we appreciated it with our two children. Hotel is old but rooms are renovared and clean.food is simple but good. Unfortunatelly in front of the hotel is Apres -ski bar and the music started at 17.00 and some days stopped at midnight. Also we could smell smoke of cigaretts from the bar which was very bothering. Closing the window made only small difference.if you look for romantic holiday in a quite place and you want to be in the nature far away from noice and cigarets dont go to this hotel.it is good for smokers who enjoy Bars. I was surprised that also in the lobby of the hotel is permited to smoke.it was very unpleasent.
