Stayed during our first ski holiday. Charming hotel in a nice ski resort. Well-located with ski bus stopping in front of hotel. Comfortable rooms with excellent food throughout the week. Also made use of the nice indoor pool and sauna. Friendly, helpful owners and staff. Would highly recommend this hotel.

We stayed as a family for new years the staff are exceptionally helpful and very friendly nothing was to much trouble for them. The hotel is traditional and is kept to a very high standard very clean and the only down side it is very warm. The food is good quality and varied through out the week, It is central and the ski bus stops outside handy when lots of skis to carry. the town has two supermarkets and several places to eat the Italian I the middle of the town has the best pizzas. The hotel Is well run clean and very friendly a really good place to stay, we would go back tomorrow.

We stayed at the Alpina for a weeks skiing in Jan 2010 and thought it was a great hotel.

It's located centrally and the ski bus stop is directly outside if you want to use it.

The staff are extremely helpful and pleasant, the rooms a good size, comfortable and spotlessly clean.

The meals (breakfast and dinner) were fine, we always found something we liked from the dinner options.

It's a good traditional friendly Austrian hotel and I wouldn't hesitate to return again.

We booked through Crystal (who were also excellent) and thought it was excellent value for money.

Stayed in the Alpina for one week with my wife and mother in law (yes, really) on a Crystal half board late deal. We booked a standard Austrian twin and single room with balcony and both rooms were clean and well prepared on arrival. Twin room was reasonably spacious with adequate storage for clothes etc. Single room was very compact but perhaps understandable as it came with no single supplement to pay. Rooms were cleaned every day to a good standard, so no complaints there.
The owners and all staff were extremely helpful and courteous throughout our stay and could not do enough to help, from giving advice on the resort, walks, transport etc. through to providing excellent service at meal times and generally throughout each day. The hotel has a number of leisure facilities, though we only used the swimming pool as the weather was excellent throughout our stay. The pool was clean and well maintained. As others have said in earlier reviews, the hotel is a little on the warm side, not a problem in the bedrooms as you can turn the heating off if you wish but you can;t do much about it in the dining room or lounge.
Breakfast is traditionally Austrian buffet style, cereal, bread rolls, cheese, salami etc with boiled eggs and/or scrambled egg & sausage meat for those that like a hot option. Evening meals comprised salad buffet, soup, main course and a dessert. All food was cooked and presented to a high standard and sufficient to satisfy most appetites. First drink (beer, wine or pop) was also free - great if you're on a budget. Having said that, the drinks in the hotel were reasonably priced, 2.3 euros for tea, 3.5 euros for a large beer for example.
The resort is relatively small, but has a cable car up to the local ski area, great views as you would expect. Some great walking routes, weel marked, up the local mountains if you're really keen. or less demanding relatively flat walks along the valley if you prefer. There is a couple of small supermarkets which provide the essentials - not open Sundays though and a few other shops..
All in all we had a great holiday and would recommend the Alpina a a great place to stay.

We have just completed a week staying at the Alpina for our first ever ski trip. The Manager and Mangeress catered to everyones wishes, and all the staff were always happy and smiling - right through to the house keeping staff, and this seemed to be a genuine happiness everywhere, definitely NOT the false corporate happiness you my find in large chain hotels where people are just doing a job.

Our room was large and comfortable for three of us to share, with plenty of wardrobe space, confortable beds and very quet (silent?) at night. The room was made up every day, and we never saw a spec of dust there all week!

The food was a sumptiuous buffet in the morning, and 4 courses every evening, with a 5 course gala dinner on the last night of Ski school - we certainly wanted for nothing while we were there!

The swimming area was an excellent way to unwind after a hard days skiing, but we did not use the Sauna for fear of bumping into a naked continental body, but when we looked into the spa area this was also as clean and tidy as everywhere else.

The kids play area has a good condition table tennis table and pool table, with everything needed to play (bats balls and cues) and was excellent for our daughter to make friends of a similar age, the kids love a bit of freedom but it is nice that this can be provided for within the hotel, There is also a soft play area with stacking sponge shapes, a tiny climbing wall (with mat you can put underneath and little tikes slide/climbing thing for the littleun's. Plus a TV video player in this area. Even in this highly used area everywhere was spotlessly clean!

The hotel is excellently located for the morning ski bus, has two ski storage areas - I cannot hink of anything I was left wanting during our stay here.

Thank you very much to everyone at the Hotel Alpina, you made our stay fantastic, and we hope to see you again soon!

Our overall holiday was booked with Crystal ski - and they were eqally fantastic - everything ran like clock work, and the rep was always contactable and where he said he would be. Thank you Jamie

This was our 3rd trip to Rauris but our first stay at the Alpina hotel.
We arrived after a very poor 3 1/2 hour transfer from Salzburg airport (thanks Crystal !!!).
The welcome was absolutely superb. The staff were dressed in national costume which was a very nice touch and the check in very efficient and prompt.
Our room was very good with an Austrian twin and a huge balcony with a view of the Kreutzboden ski run. The en suite shower and toilet were spotless with nice fluffy towels.
Meals were great and you get a free glass of wine with dinner If you want a bit more then a bottle of house white is under €16 and very good it is too.
They held a gala meal for Valentins day which was very pleasant.
The food was of an excellent quality with a good selection.
We skied with the Karl Maier ski school which was superb again. They really are THE ski school in Rauris.
First visit to this hotel but we will be back.
The pool was great and very quiet with whale type music being played.
Our only complaint - the whole hotel is a little too warm.

We stayed at the Alpina for a 2nd time in February 2011 and we will be coming back again in 2012! The owners Carmen and Thomas are very friendly and really make you feel welcome. The food is of excellent quality and the once a week gala night 5 course meal was very special. Unfortunately i injured my knee halfway though the week but i was very well taken care of by the hotel. Carmen insisted i went to the doctors and even drove me there herself. The pool and sauna areas are a nice place to relax after a great days skiing.
We will be back next year
