Owner description: This spectacular 35-meter waterfall features a natural lagoon at its bottom that, according to legend, is enchanted.

This is a very nice waterfall place with activities for nature lovers. If you like nature, but do not want to hike that much, there is an easy trail doable in 10 mintues where you can pass by a gorgeus waterfall. For a swim you can go to the nice pool that is filled with river water and looks like a natural stone pool. For a little more adventure you can do the zip lining tour. Overlall this is a very good place.

The waterfall was a short hike and included suspended bridges like you see in the movies. My sons enjoyed the adventure. There was a swimming area, a natural pool, near the falls that was refreshing. My youngest son did the beginner zip line which was a short zip across the river. Not a huge thrill but enough to excite him for his first time and not too scary for mom to watch! Staff were friendly and helpful. We did not hike all the way up the mountain for the longer zip line so I can't comment on it. We stayed near the river which was easy hiking. It is cooler here which is a nice break from the heat of the beach. I recommend this activity for families with elementary age children; for teenagers, they would probably enjoy doing the regular zip line that goes all the way down the mountain. I think that getting from the beach to El Valle was half the fun - nice drive with great views.

It was a pleasant short walk to the waterfall (200 m)- good for families with little children as its not dangerous and almost everyone can make that short walk. But the entrance fee is 3.75 and that's a little much for a minor fall- especially since we've seen bigger and mightier falls here in Canada, it won't impress. Its just an experience- don't go if you are expecting huge or rushing falls, its more like a gentle streem falling down rocks. This also may change as the wet season comes through- we went at the tail end of the dry season, so a lot of the gusto of the falls may be lost to weather. We didn't go to the natural pool, but we did see a huge crowd for it so it must be good.

Small but impressive, humid ( as to be expected) and pleasantly void of crowds ( it was mid afternoon, mid week) - you are provided with a sturdy stick ( to beat off the serpents and monkeys...!)and pointed in a direction. From there over the rope bridge , up and winding through the greenery , peaceful and totally different - a hidden volcanic jungle, off the beaten track!

We found it expensive for very short treck. Waterfall is lovely, but cannot swim in. We did not do the tree treck, but looked fun.
