“Treasure found - look no further, Hotel Nautilus is the place to be!”
Reviewed January 6, 2011

We spent 6 day glorious days there, and wanted to stay longer! These apartment style villas are nestled amongst a beautiful exotic garden. All units are at ground level, are clean & comfortable with a fully equipped kitchen, and your own open front porch with table and chairs, for socializing with the other guests and the owners, which we spent many times doing. Everything is new and contemporary! The pool is refreshing and relaxing after a day at the beach, or to stay poolside and tan. While we were there Hotel Nautilus was just completing the finishing touches on their own yoga studio, complete with juice bar.
The owners (Arik, Adi, Edi) are down to earth and genuine, people you’d aspire to be like, and made our trip as wonderful as it was! They are always available to make any recommendation/arrangement you want – fishing, ATV rentals, surfing, yoga, tours, restaurant reservations, etc. The day we went fishing, they suggested we bring the fresh fish back to the Nautilus & we all helped to prepare sushi & a barbeque, on the premises that evening. We invited everyone staying there to join us for dinner. You don’t get that at a resort.
Santa Teresa beach is literally a 2 min walk from the hotel, yet off the main road for peace and tranquility. The beach is white sand, vast and untouched... no huge hotel/resort developments (the few that are there are set very far back, and are private and inconspicuous). The sunset is fabulous...hundreds of people gather every night to watch it, while the surfers still surf.
There are many good restaurants within walking distance, or a short cab ride. Grocery stores are also a very short walk if you want to cook you own meals. Restaurant and grocery prices are very reasonable.
All around our experience there was extraordinary, as one's travel destination is always a place that shows you a new way of looking at things, of which the Hotel Nautilus owners did for us! We were sad to leave and hope to get back ASAP.

My wife, myself and our 1yr old daughter visited Santa Teresa for a wedding in December, 2010 , staying for three weeks. We had the opportunity to visit other hotels etc in the area when collecting/meeting friends, and we can say that we were very happy with our choice in Nautilus. The staff are extremely friendly and the accomodation is very good.(AC, fridge, wi-fi etc). The complex is secure and safe and the pool is suitable for small children also.

Overall we felt that the personal touch offered by the owners made this hotel stand out far and above the others that we had considered.

We just got home from our vacation in Costa Rica and want to go back as soon as possible! From the moment we arrived at Hotel Nautilus we were welcomed like family, and taken care of down to every last detail. It is far enough off the main road to enjoy peace and quiet, and close enough to walk to everything you need. Our room was clean and spacious, and we will never forget all of the wonderful "treats" that were left on our porch :) We can't wait to visit Hotel Nautilus again!

A very relaxing peaceful area. The hotel was clean and cozy with a good location close to the beach and restraunts. The atmosphere was nice and we met many new friends during our 2 week stay. The owners Adi and Aric made you feel like part of the family. We would recommend this hotel to anyone.

There are two reasons this hotel is rated first at the time of this review. 1. The amenities and 2. The hosts.

The accommodation was like having our own personal apartment in Santa Teresa; with full sized fridge, stove, and all the kitchen wares needed to feel like you're at home, king sized bed, air conditioning, modern bathroom, optional tv, and huge porch. We really liked how the whole space flowed and felt modern with great finishes.

The real heart of The Nautilus is the hosts, Adi and Arik. Without being intrusive, Adi and Arik were always there to arrange activities with the best of the best in town. With their guidance we had great private surf lessons with Amit of Del Soul Surf School, massages with Greg and Yuki in a great spot right on the beach, honest ATV rentals, and delicious food at nearby Alma and Ginger Cafe. After leaving we realized the value of having Adi and Arik arrange our adventures and wish we had stayed longer. Once you spend a night at the Hotel Nautilus you won't want to leave.

This was the best hotel we stayed in during three weeks in Costa Rica. The rooms are brand new and spacious, the kitchen very comfortable, the swimming pool just lovely and the whole complex of excellent taste. We had a very nice roofed terrace as well.
It was the rainy season so we had to spend quite a few time inside, but it did not bother us at all, not even our 11-month daughter.
The beach is extremely close, just a straight walk down to the beach.
The owners Arik and Adi go out of their way to make you feel at home -thank you for that!! And they did give us the best suggestions for restaurants, etc, not to mention many delicious home-made treats.
I do not want to go on and on, so I will only say this: we initially booked 4 nights and we ended up staying 7.
