Great location, quaint local resturants within a local surfing environment making a perfect mix of leisure, exploration and optional active adventures. The location exudes amibance and privacy for their guests. Convient access to beach strolls, surfing, fishing and snorkeling , forest hikes with zip lining and water fall jumping.

I just returned from the most amazing trip of my life in Santa Teresa Costa Rica... I had no idea where I was going or what I was doing and I truly believe now everything happens for a reason...

Santa Teresa is a sleepy little surf village on the Nicoya Peninsula.. If you are looking to party like a rock star this is not the place for you.. if you are looking for privacy, AMAZING food incredible hospitality, beautiful beaches, friendly faces, then you are in the right place.

Casas Pura Vida was not only set in the most ideal location in Costa Rica but it was also everything and anything you could ask for when looking for the perfect accomodations. The service was tremendous, the rooms are beautiful, comfortable and clean... the beach is at your back door step and the owners couldn't be anymore pleasant, friendly and just all around good people who really care about what they provide and that is an amazingly unique experience!

The location is perfect.. walking distance to the food store, restaurants, little surf boutiques... not too far from ziplining, snorkeling, amazing fishing (we caught 12 fish in 3 hours!) ... come back after a long day and go for a dip in the pool or hang out in a hammock and unwind... have a massage in the comfort of your own room or down in the yoga shala while listening to the ocean... truly paradise.

There is truly nothing I would change about my week at Casas Pura Vida.. Leaving was the hardest part.. I'm already looking forward to next year ... Thanks so much Stefan & Nicole... you guys ROCK!

Four friends on an adventure and we found solitude at Casa Pelicano..after fishing, ATV's, dusty roads we loved going back to the privacy of Casa Pelicano. You are secluded from the road but still have a safe beach access. The pool is just large enough and you can't see the other casas. Cool grill and large wrap porch..Only one suggestions is to offer a clothes washing service....LOVED IT, and will go again....

I spend 5 days in Casa Tortuga and had a great time, the place is very family oriented and very well organized. The beach is extremely clean and just steps away from the house. I would recommend this place to any person, no matter if single of family with young kids, there's a little bit of something for everyone.

Having come to Santa Teresa For the past 5 years we've come to realize that Stefan and Nicole's houses are likely the nicest available for rent in the area. Located on the beach , in front of one of the best surfing breaks in Santa Teresa, this has to be one of the best family friendly surfing vacation spots in the world.

My husband and I stayed in Casa Pelicano the last week of February, 2010. Right from the start the owners were courteous and professional through the booking process.
The house is very comfortable with the basic essentials for staying in and cooking or grilling which we chose to do each day. With such an amazing porch and abundent wildlife, who wants to sit in a resteraunt?
The ground are kept pristine. The private pool is cleaned each day. We especially enjoyed swimming privately after dark.
The surf is serious, not to be taken for granted. We now understand the love of this most pristine beach for surfers.
The local supermarkets, walking distrance, have most everything you need. The selection won't last and it may change daily but that is part of the beauty of escaping from our routine of daily life. We found it exciting.
Another word of caution would be about the condition of the roads. They are dusty, bumpy, pot holed and just dangerous. But if you are aware, drive very slowly, wear seatbelts and be cautious, it is fine.
There are so many adventures that you can go on every day. Hiking, biking, horse rides, or just hang out at your pool or the beach. A little something for everyone.
After the hectic lives we lead, it takes a day or so to get into the groove. Water and electricity are not to be taken for granted and wasted as we do here in the sates. Slow down an gear down and you'll be in the the most remarkable, relaxing time at this great beach location and little slice of heaven on earth.

My husband and I stayed at Casa Pelicano for a week on our honeymoon. I cannot say enough about Casas Pura Vida. I don't know how this place is ranked # 10, it should be #1. Laura, the property manager, was so helpful in making reservations and answering any questions we had. The property was beautiful and the flora and fauna was so amazing. The entire place was so clean, including the pool. The beach was close, clean, and beautiful. The sunrise and sunsets were out of this world, and watching the surfers everyday was fun also. We felt so safe and relaxed in the town and on the property, we had a difficult time even leaving the house. Neither one of us has been to Central American countries before, so this was an experience for both of us. The native Ticos and Ticas were so friendly and helpful, and didn't even seem to get frustrated when we weren't able to speak Spanish. We loved the Santa Teresa, Playa Carmen, and Mal Pais areas and don't wish to look any further for another tropical vacation. We went on the Mal Pais Canopy tour and had a fabulous time. My husband was skeptical in the beginning, but quickly got used to the ride, said it was an amazing experience, and would go on a canopy tour again. We even became friendly with one of the guides who we are keeping in touch with through email. We took a drive to Manzanillo, about 15 minutes, and enjoyed the secluded beaches and sunset there also. We ate breakfast lunch and dinner at many places and did not have one bad meal. My husband had the best pizza of his life at El Pulpo and we both enjoyed many other restaurants such as Brisas del Mar and Tres. When we wanted to stay at Casa Pelicano and relax, drink, and/or eat, we would just walk to the grocery store which took about 1 minute, and get anything we needed. It was so convenient. We had the time of our lives and will be back next year.
